I previously worked here. Take my advice and do-NOT take your dog here. Customers don't see what goes on behind the scenes. I don't want to go into detail but, there are usually 2-3 young adults working with 80+ dogs..

Really sad to say this since I was hoping to find doggie day care. I am currently looking for my pup (7 months all vaccinated & fixed) to go to daycare. I called the greenville location and asked many questions but the person on the phone responded to every single question with “well that depends” there was no answer.Here were the questions- about how many dogs do you have per area?- what is the max per area?- how many supervisors are there per dog?- what objects are in the play area for the dogs to play with?Again, all of these questions were answered “well that depends”

We brought our 5 month old golden for a weekend while we went on a quick trip. I had called a couple of other places and even was told by one that I wasn't a great fit for them because I asked where the dogs slept at night. The person on the phone was the nicest that we had talked with and had great customer service. Overall, Astro was very friendly and I never got a secretive vibe from them. They even took the time to listen to my 7 year old and his concerns when we dropped her off lol! He loves looking out for his little sis. Our golden is the happiest and most easy going dog I have ever had (I work with a lot of rescue) and I was worried that she may develop some fear or separation issues while we were away but she came back happy and her usual self. She was tired when we picked her up but not unhealthily so. She also was bathed nicely and everything was in her bag when we picked her up. I really appreciated how the person at the front desk shared details about her stay - just little things about how she interacted and how good she was. It wasn't just some uncaring front desk person not involved. I would have loved to have seen some photos of her during her stay but other than that I wouldn't change a thing. We will definitely be back!

I have boarded German shepherd here for the past 3 years. They have also been so friendly and have told me I am more than welcome to call and check up on her while we were on vacation. Price is good and they offered lots of extras besides just boarding, treats, extra play time, baths.

1 Star because they don’t tell you that if you board overnight Saturday, you got charged double. $39 if you don’t pick up by 12 pm, but they don’t open until 1pm. And as a first time customer, no one told me. They had a sign, but there was another paper taped over it. Don’t recommend this place.

I wouldn’t trust my dog with anyone else! The staff is amazing. I have been bringing my dog since she was 9 weeks old at least 5 days a week. Highly recommended!

Was not impressed with their training aspects. I would give no stars if I could, was so disappointed. I wasted my money on them when I could have had training done with someone else. They learned nothing like I was expecting and I was expecting them to have some sort of skill down, or there behavior changed. I should have listen to a few of my friends about there training. I was expecting updates on them and how there progress was going. I literally had to call them, email them constantly for them to finally give me one picture of them in there training room. One picture and they are doing great was all I got. I was so disappointed in this, that they were not helping pet owners feel more at ease knowing there dogs are doing great while in training. One lady said they had a person who does the instagram page who will be posting pictures constantly. I went to there page constantly expecting a few updates on there trainees and there progress. I saw nothing on there page but there daycare and dock diving. It felt like they wanted to hide what they were doing and not show you updates like they werent training your dog as frequently and wasting your money. I had one friend who has a shepherd very excited, nipping problem, jumping on people, who was so happy with how transformed her dog was, that I was expecting a better outcome for mine as well. When we went to pick up the dogs and Sandy was showing us what they learned in the training room. I started to get so frustrated because all I saw was them acting like they were never trained and was definitely not impressed with it at all. They were not listening to her commands just doing there own thing and she was going along with it. One thing that really made me mad was instead of doing something about my dogs being so rambunctious and destructive in a crate while the other one was doing the training. All they did was put a chair infront of the cage acting like that would calm him down, WHICH IT DID NOTHING. He was digging, scratching the whole walls, barking out of control and they never once inforced a behavior correction for this. I also told them they were on a special diet because they have food and environmental allergies thats they are on a special food. When I dropped them off they have a problem with eating their food way to fast so I sent them with two maze bowl. When I went to get their things one bowl was ripped to shreds with holes all in it. They were pooping plastice for a solid 3 days because they left the bowls in their cages and they destroyed them. They are lucky they didnt get a blockage or I would have been extremely upset for neglect and irresponsible care. I couldnt believe how much their bowls were chewed up that I had to throw them away. There was no apology for the bowl from anyone when they handed me the bag. I would have beenn fine if someone would have been hinest with me instead of hidding it like nothing happened. As far as listening to me when I specifically told them they have allergies, the trainers were feeding them hotdogs as treats which spiked a huge allergic reaction with a bunch of hotspots all over their necks. I had to shave their necks to get it under control and they had to be on two rounds of antibiotics and in their cone for 2 weeks.I was so disappointed in there training aspects of things, and was hoping for a way better outcome in there trainer. I will never recommend anyone to get training from them as they were no help in training my pups. Now I'm having to seek a different trainer to get better training behavior for my pups that Astro could not provide me. So disappointed.

I've been bringing Baxter here for about a year. They were so patient with him as he learned to not be in protection mode so often. The training is really outstanding and yes I realize it's usually the owner who needs to learn the most.

My Boston Terrier loves Astro and so do I. He goes for boarding, day care and grooming. They are strict with their policy about shot records, which I appreciate.

We are so glad to have found this place for our dogs. We have a small apartment and needed to exercise our dogs who are rescues. It's worth every penny to bring them here. They are loved, played with, and they love coming here! They are tired by the end of each day and we couldn't be more happy. They treat our pups so well and they absolutely love all the people here so much that they wiggle their way to them! Highly recommend!!

Would not accept our care credit card even though the other location does. Also after returning home we noticed a missing item from the stuff we sent our dog with. Overall they do take good care of the animals though. And the care credit isn't probably their fault but it was a major inconvenience because that was money we weren't wanting to part with all at once. Apparently if the kennel has a vet attached to it care credit will cover the boarding but of not be prepared to pay up front. Blaa

Wanted to praise this awesome place yet again! They're always great to us and our fur babies. For about 3 years, they've been coaching us through managing our reactive dog. Finch, my super fun-loving Belgian Malinois absolutely adores Astro Kennels 2! Talk about the excitement when we turn the corner and are almost entering the parking lot! It is his favorite place with all of his favorite friends (furry & human). When we walk in, Finch is greeted by name and he can’t wait to play! My 10 week old puppy was happy and exhausted after his first day here! (I had tried another daycare previously and he was stressed when he got home.) Everyone at Astro Kennels 2 was extremely nice, knowledgeable and helpful! My puppy will definitely be going back! (Even the parents I met were awesome.) Their prices are extremely affordable as well. I’m so glad my friend recommended this place!

Wouldn't recommend. They use outdated training techniques that many consider abusive and detrimental to animals mental health now. No wonder one of the trainers had her face bitten by a dog, they don't respect boundaries of animals and are rude. Easy to educate yourself but they choose not to.

Great costumer service, however my wife and I were not too happy with the Deluxe Bath selection for our two babies. They did not have a fresh smell and they did not seem as clean as they could have been. Maybe it was the summer youth workers that were handling the responsibility of grooming. OR maybe it was a lack of experience. Overall it was okay. Sorry guys, you gotta step it up please!!

My dog tried another local day care and had a horrible experience but then Astro was recommended to me through co-workers. She went through the obedience training at astro and they have done such a great job of building her confidence back up and making her a playful puppy again. I never have to worry about her when I drop her off for day care or training. They truly care about all of the dogs there, I recommend this place to everyone I know with a dog.

I’ve used Astro Kennels in Simpsonville for training and day care. It was a great experience! I dropped my pup Bailey off on Thursday Dec 23 at Astro Kennels 2 in Mauldin for boarding. I picked her up on Monday Dec 27. She was scheduled for a bath before pick up. When I got there they brought her out to me and she was still wet. I asked why she was wet and they said she wouldn’t sit for drying. I immediately took her to her groomer and showed her what she looked like because I knew something wasn’t right. The groomer freaked out because she already knew that she was tangled and matted. Bailey goes to groomer every 2-4 weeks and we brush her out every other day. We’ve had no issues with matting at all. Yesterday, Bailey had to get all of her hair completely shaved due to this issue. If you use Astro Kennels please only use for boarding and training. I would NOT recommend bath or grooming services. I do have photos as well.

We’ve boarded our dog here on two separate occasions and we will not go anywhere else. We tried 2 other places before finding Astro Kennels. Our dog is reactive on a leash, but off leash plays well with others. The workers at Astro Kennels worked with our dog to provide an environment where he could play. The extra time they took to figure out what works for him to still get play time shows how much they care about our fur babies. They even said he fell in love this past time with another dog of his breed.

Astro has to be the best boarding and training facility in the Greenville SC area. I drive 45 minutes to board and attend training classes here. My dogs are so excited when they get there and come home tired (that's a good thing). They have a variety of options when boarding to meet the needs of every pet. I never worry if my pups are being well cared for when left in their care. They are an A1 operation.

I absolutely love this location, trainers and staff. They treat my dog like he was theirs. My boy looks forward to going and is better behaved since being there. Took our dogs to board here, and our dog came home without his flea collar. When asked to mail it to us, I had to pick up at post office (weeks later) because they didn’t put enough postage. Gave them a second chance with daycare- same thing happened. We’re still waiting on the flea collar to arrive from a visit weeks ago. Also, ask to see facility before you book- You’ll understand why there aren’t cameras.

We LOVE Astro 2! Our sweet pup Bailey is loved and well taken care of by the staff and we feel confident each and ever time we drop him off that he will have a great day. We use doggy day care and boarding and have been pleased with both services!
