Truly sad to see how poorly the animals are taken care of!! Breaded dragon that has improper lighting causing them to have MDS and starved. It’s just sad to see this place being allowed to sell exotics. The cat litter boxes are disgusting looks like not even cleaned once a week. The place smells god awful so gross!!! The only animals looking ok there are the fish and rats!! The poor birds have no windows are living in filth! It’s pathetic no one has done anything about it!! Thankfully we rescued a pet from there but he still isn’t doing great since buying from there !! There selling sick animals cause they are not taking care of them!! These dragons are dying a slow and painful death!!! Someone please help them!! Close this place down or force them to let go of all exotics !! Cause they can not care for them

My son and I say it's the greatest pet son ever. No one has the selection like A- Pet-U- Bet. I have been shopping here since the 90s. I live in Shelby and still drive to Gaffney to shop there. And I will always as long as it stays open. Kim is an awesome groomer.

Place is great. For all you people on here bashing the place and the animals upkeep. You are wrong! I'm in there every week getting food for my fish. And outside of being a little dusty the place and animals are in great shap. And as far as the parrot that a couple people said is sick. Hes not, he is almost at the end of his life span. That is why he looks a little rough. I've never purchased anything from there that wasn't healthy and very well taken care of.

These people don't stand behind there animals.. they tried to claim our water wasn't right so they wouldn't replace our fish. Took our water to 3 other pet stores and they all said our water in our tank was perfect..so now we are out alot of money and our fish because they don't stand behind there animals.. Stay away ..if I could give negative starts I would...

Good variety of fish and critters!!! Cages were a little dirty for my liking, store was very dusty but definitely fully stocked!! Would shop here again!! Would have given more stars if the store was kept cleaner!! At first entrance I was like ewwww hey I mean it is a "country" pet store!!!

Birds were covered in feces and looked extremely sick. Especially a large parrot. Whole store reeks. You can tell they never clean the enclosures. The most depressing pet shop I've ever been in. Many mammals we're kept in tubs. The reptile's weren't much better off. Don't buy anything here. Place needs to be shutdown

They don’t take care of the animals. Dogs aren’t fed or watered properly. There are reptiles eating other reptiles in the cages that are dead. It needs to be closed down immediately.

The people are decent, but the animals there are horribly kept; they live in dirty poorly managed conditions. Had my dog brought in for a grooming and asked several times that the lashes not he cut, it was the only request, and they snipped them off. The whiskers were even shaved off? Okay cut for the price, but I’ll be going elsewhere from now on. Please clean that place up and take better care of the animals.

Very good experience for my family and I. They have a wonderful selection with lots of nice fish, turtles, reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals. Yesterday was my first time in the store but I will definitely be a return customer! Excellent customer service as well, thank you again.

If I could I would give them no stars worst place went in today, not very clean animals looked traumatized!!!!!! Some birds look like there about to die and hamsters also look like there gonna die mostly all of them do, they need help they look awful place looks disgusting! PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

As nice as the ladies are, the animals look extremely improperly cared for. The smell upon walking in is very nasty to say the least, and the store itself was quite dusty. The two kittens in the store were in a small cage, though most space was taken up by a litter box, and looked incredibly sick. Guinea pigs didn't have enough space, and hamsters were housed together (very obviously adult ones, which can lead to injuries and death from fighting). Multiple dead and starving reptiles, along with fish. The birds looked sick, one with either a severe eye injury or missing one, and the macaw looked awful. The poor thing looked to be in pain, very sad. Borderline animal cruelty, if not already. I'm sure the owners don't mean to cause the animals harm, but they are suffering with such conditions.

Where do i start?Reptiles: WAY to small of enclosures. Some can’t even escape their heat lamps. Ball python with no hide. Multiple sheddings left in tanksBirds: all cramped in a room smaller than my bathroom. They need fresh air & better cages.Feeder Mice/Rats: dead left among the living, extra large rats cramped in small tanksSaltwater Tank: corals with inadequate lighting, starving their inner algae.No public restrooms. 2 people on staff. 1 young man who has zero expressions & no smiles. 1 elderly lady who needs to be retired & shown some fresh air & grandchildren.Dry goods that are out of date & never purchased. General cleanliness of store is begging for a clean up job.

I've been to pet you bet for years and years and I have bought animals there and that was fine but when I started buying fish the fish do not live very long they will replace them but only one time so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong I took my water up there and they checked it and it was fine so maybe they just got bad fish or either they're too rough at trying to catch these fish to put in a bag I've had several to die this last time I spent $52 on the fish and several died before I even got home now I can't even take them back to get more fish or get my money back because I took some back before and she said she would not do it again.

This is the most disgusting and criminal pet shop I’ve ever been to. I bought my parakeet from there and found she was only used to have babies. She was alone in her cage and lost most of her feathers. All the animals there are in awful condition. This place needs to be shut down and those people are disgusting for letting it get like that.

I recently bought a hamster from there. When i got it home and held it it was in horrible condition. Its back feet had been chewed off. It was missing alot of hair. This place iant taking proper care od there aninals.

The animals dont look very taken care of and it looks like the place hasn't been cleaned or kept up with. The smell when you walk in is unbearable. They really need to take better care of this store and they're animals.

The fish livestock looked healthy, if a little sparse, but I think the used syringes on the ground outside the door, and the bars on the windows might have soured me against this store.Inside was dirty and dusty. Lots of dust on products on the shelves, poorly organized. I don't think the floor had been swept in months. (Or longer)
