One of those places that had to have grown organically, because it's got such an eclectic mix of things that it couldn't have been planned out. Good breakfast sandwiches, high end soaps, guitar strings, and tourist kitsch, among other stuff. When we were there, clientele was an equal mix of landscapers and construction workers on their way to work, white collars heading into Charleston, and sorority girls on spring break. Very egalitarian seeming.

Best spot to pick up snacks for the beach. Funky little market Arcos from Chico Feo with absolutely every damn thing you need for a perfect beach day. If you’re on the sand and run out of anything, head to Bert’s.For a tiny market they have a HUGE beer selection and a pretty stellar beer cave to cool off in on a hot day 😂

Corner market with everything you can think of for a beach grocer- from rash guards to flip flops to drinks, groceries, and freshly crafted sandwiches. Everyone there puts their head down and hustles. It’s pretty much busy all day and all evening from what I could see and everyone kept their cool serving the masses.Breakfast bagel sandwiches and hot pressed wraps (meat or vegan) and paninis are great choices. There’s also hot dogs on hot rollers too (see pic) burgers and chicken fingers if it all sounds too healthy for you.It’s a good thing I’m lactose intolerant or I’d be getting a wholly cow ice cream cone there daily.

This little store absolutely made our vacation. It was right next to the beach house that we rented. We popped in for free coffee every morning and ended up walking there off the beach for hot dogs and cheeseburgers most days. The service was top notch- employee Andy even helped us jump our car when we had a dead battery! Everyone that checked us out or helped us did so with a big smile on their face. This was such a convenient place to grab a late night ice cream cone or slice of cake long after everywhere else on the island had closed.

While just a convenience store, they also serve sandwiches and ice cream. They seem to have anything you may need or have forgotten before going on your beach vacation. It is open 24 hours.

Discovering Bert’s Market was nothing short of magical during our trip to Charleston! This hidden gem is a must-visit. The moment we walked in, we were captivated by the charm of the place. The staff was not only incredibly helpful but also incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home.The variety of products at Bert’s Market is impressive, and it was a true delight to explore their unique selection. From local snacks to fresh produce, they have it all. We couldn’t resist trying some of their homemade goodies, and they did not disappoint.We left Bert’s Market with smiles on our faces and bags full of goodies. It’s more than just a store; it’s an experience. If you’re in Charleston, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Bert’s Market. You won’t regret it!

Great local market on Folly Island. Probably not where you want to do all your grocery shopping while you are on vacation but still a great place to pick up a few items that you may have forgotten. Selection is limited, but not as much as you would think and also not as marked up in price as you would think. They also have fresh bakery items every day from a local bakery and a Deli as well as grab and go food. I didn't verify but I think it's still open late in the evenings and maybe still 24 hours. They had fairly good free coffee available by donation only. I really liked this market. It had a great vibe that most small markets don't have.

Rude service, I’ve been coming here for a while now and they used to be great. You could have decent conversations with the workers and the vibe was great, but there has been a major decline in numerous aspects here. The people at the registers are rude which does not help justify that the prices are very high. I use to not mind them but if they are going to be rude I would honestly recommend going to Walmart or another grocery store off the island and avoid Bert’s because the vibe isn’t there anymore sadly. It’s not the same Bert’s it used to be.

We just love this local shop that is open 24/7! It reminds me of a shop on Maui, Hawaii called Down to Earth. This is our first time visiting Folly Beach and I will definitely be back! If I could give 10 stars, I would definitely do that.

Stopped here for breakfast on the way out of town and wanted a sandwich for the road. Placed my order must have been a 15 minute wait but there was only one girl working on the orders while one guy was working register. She was busting tail and I didn’t mind the wait. She needs a raise! Food was delicious. Got jalapeño cheese bagels with cream cheese and an Italian sub to go. Also stopped here the previous night to get some local brews from beer cooler. The lady with blonde short hair was also super helpful and nice and recommended something new vs my Palmetto Brewery regular. Guy who rang us out was super great. Would definitely stop here again when in town.

This was my third time to Folly and I have to admit that the sandwiches are a hidden gem in this beach town. My favourite is their Italian sub. Along with the deli, this place has all the staples you need.

This place is incredible! They don't make you pay a premium for getting what you need while on the island. They have pretty much everything you can think of. They have great prepackaged foods to eat while hanging on the island.

Food was fine, but, no one there knows what hoagie pepper spread is? A deli? They acted like they knew and put crushed red dry pizza peppers on it. Other than that, it was ok.

Best place to go to on folly other than the beach. They literally have everything. I’ve walked in from my friend’s house at like two in the morning so that he could get a bar of soap and a burger. Their prices are crazy but that’s expected bc it’s on folly. That doesn’t even matter too bc it’s an experience in itself.

This is easily one of my favorite grocery store/deli/convenience store/ice cream shop/everything-you-could-ever-want stores. Whatever they’re doing they’ve absolutely been doing something right. I’m not a local and I’ve managed to find excuses to go to this place 5 times in the last two days just because it’s such an effing cool market. Best damn spot on Folly, besides the beach.Weekend of 6/30/23: Back again and this place still doesn’t disappoint. Able to get everything I forgot to bring here: toiletries, shampoo, biodegradable soap, popsicles, pancake mix, all of it.As other reviews say, it’s pricier than Walmart, but it makes sense given how out of the way it is to me. Expect to spend about $1-3 more per item than you would on the “mainland.” To me it’s worth it—they have so many small business regional items like local summer sausage, cheeses, single ice cream bars and popsicles, coffee, pastries, and soda that I’m ok with a little more cost.I’ve had time to try their food at the hot counter this time, which is also surprisingly excellent. Their veggie wraps are killer, and their burgers aren’t bad either. Fries are a little ho-hum, but everything else from the counter is super. If you’re here, highly recommend. Plus the staff are top shelf—friendly, conversational, and helpful. Support local and shop here. No liquor sold in-store, but there’s a liquor store literally around the back of the store with the basics.

My husband is remodeling a home on the Island so in the evening’s when he knocks off we stop in for our always fresh cup coffee before walking out on beach to look for YES them beautiful an unique looking shells and the ever so amazing sharks teeth. Then we stop back in for another cup of Jo late night early morning to the beautiful an always smiling ever so sweet💕 Ms Lee 💕 to end our visit before heading home just to be back again the next afternoon..,Love the saying at Bert’s ..,,We may Doze🤟but 🤘We never Close

Cool local shop with fresh sandwiches, some baked goods, beer and win, a general store and everything between. Prices are high - very high. Definitely a recommend stop if you are staying or visiting the area!I have tried three of the pies by now and am lowering my review by one star. The fresh desserts are okay tasting but also fresh which is a plus. The issue I have is they stock smaller pieces behind the counter that are 10 slices per pie, and 8 slices in the display case. This then gives you a 20% smaller piece for the same price ($7 per slice). Not a huge deal but worth noting. If you want the actual size (1/8th slice) ask for it out of the case instead of the cooler.

Old white worker at the register was so rude. I went in with a group of like 10 people and we each separately had horrible experiences with him he yelled at us for asking the prices of something, for being too “slow”, and for not being able to find our ID. Will not be coming back.

Perfect variety of fancy to casual snacks and beverages and any toiletries or such items that you may have forgotten to bring on your jaunt out to Folly Beach. Also have many sweet treats and ice cream with a variety of unique cone selections (I got the pretzel for sweet and salty vibes)
