I bought 1 2 month old rabbit a week ago. The same day I went and got the last rabbit . The worker were very nice and caring they helped me quite a bit. I'm not good with names . But it was 2 females working.I just wish my second rabbit would come to me.She keeps hiding behind both couches. Lol

This was once my go to store for all pet supplies, especially aquatics, but it has steadily gone downhill.Fish are mislabeled and a very poor selection with dead fish in the water on a regular basis. I was told today that the owner forgot to order fish this week. How do you "forget" to order fish when that literally takes up almost 1/3 of your commercial floor space???And all of the knowledgeable people who once worked here are gone. Such a disappointment because I prefer to support locally owned businesses, but a big box store will get my business now if this is the best this store has to offer.It reeks of animals whose cages need to be cleaned and there is very little stock on the shelves. You can definitely tell this isn't a business the owner is committed to seeing do well.

It's 7:17 on Monday night we just left there, and the place was immaculately clean, not any dirt anywhere. Both ladieswere so very kind and helpful, okay just were clean the animals were happy.It's sad there were hardly any food or supplies on the shelves. This was not the workers fault. It is whoever owns this place. In spite of how they have to work both ladies were smiling and so nice and so kind. Praying for them.

Good selection of pet supplies, small animals, birds, fish, and reptiles for sales. Occasionally they have cats and dogs. They run out of stock often and are slow to restock so it's nice to browse but don't expect them to have exactly what you need. Not a great variety of food. Prices are moderate to high relative to the big box pet stores.

Most of the time the employees seem tired and bored. However, when my son and I go there we already know what we need so assistance isn't usually necessary.The store is usually clear of clutter and easy to find what you are shopping for. We have 1 big dog , 3 cats, and 4 turtles so we shop there every often.

Store smells disgusting, hardly anything on the shelves, employees underpaid and not even allowed to sit down or take breaks. Not even a meal break. I’ve never worked here personally but I’d rather be homeless than work for some of the most vile and most disorganized management I’ve ever seen. Dogs rolling in their own poop, ROACHES, FKEAS ON EVERY ANIMAL multiple animals(via hear say) died from them not being properly taken care of. Makes PETA look like angels. Honestly better off at petco or pet smart or some other local Buisness. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

I always go here to get the crickets I feed my spiders & tarantulas. I like supporting small businesses over chain stores whenever possible & I get great, personalized service here. They sell quality dog/cat foods from brands like zignatures, that I've only seen in other boutique pet shops in Charleston, where I'm from. If they don't have it, they can order it. Their salt water aquarium section is also the best I've seen in Florence. I highly recommend checking them out.

The last few times i went in, the place STUNK. The floors were abhorrently filthy, and i found dead cockroaches around the entire store. On top of that, the animals always look sick and lethargic and their cages look filthy as well.

The staff is very helpful and as far as Aquatics go Greg is the best aquatic/fish guy around Florence and surrounding areas I wouldn't bye fish from anywhere else you know that they don't have ick or any bacterial infections and don't have fungus the only place that I trust Plus Greg will go out of his way to help you find what you need even if he doesn't have it in the store he will order it for you The owner is very nice and helpful and is hands on with the customers which is nice because you don't see that much these days I drive 45 minutes just go to this store because it's always a pleasant experience and they are so helpful and the only pet store I trust to go get food for my Axolotl #AxolotlByGracefulAxolotlFB

I enjoy going in there to browse. Also, I got my crowntail bettas from here. They were beautiful by the way. The only issue I have with this place is the floor. It's always dirty with hay/bedding, dirt, etc. It is a pet store, yes, but maybe sweep a little more often. Every time I go in there the floor is just a mess. Otherwise, I love it there and the prices are great. My fish that I purchased from there lived long lives, and their water in the store was super clear so I guess they're maintaining the fish pretty well. I was in there earlier (6/12/18) and I'm wondering if the cute little kitten that was in the cage with the rabbits is still available? Soooo cute, what are the kitten prices? Anyway, cool service every time I went and prices I've seen are decent.Update: (6/13/18)Bought a kitten today. He's so precious. You can tell the staff took great care of him, as he's a rescue. I think he knows I'm pregnant. He loves sleeping on my belly. We named him Milo. 😁

It is nothing like it used to be. Very seldom have what I need for my pets. Most of the time, I have to travel to the other side of town to get what we need. If they were the only pet store in town, some of my pets would starve. 😞

Great people and knowledgeable. Always helpful. Sadly I have to change my review. This place used to be great. Now however they will blatantly lie to you. Was going to Charlotte to get a pet and they told me they could get it for me instead. Then low and behold it doesn't come in. Then they offer to do something extra and once again nothing now having to make a second trip to get my money back and then have to hope I can find the pet somewhere else. This was supposed to be my Daughter's birthday gift and now she has to wait at least another week.

Who are they paying to leave these good reviews??!!! Store is a complete dump. Reeks of animals waste when you walk in. Cages are filthy. Tanks are full of algae and they apparently know nothing of saltwater fish or corals. Hardly any inventory of anything on the shelves. Made the mistake of going out of my way to stop while traveling. What a waste of time!

I used to love this place. They were amazing. Now just a few short years later they are awful. Animals are not getting the same quality care that they used to, one of the bearded dragons looked sick and malnourished. The staff is rude INCLUDING THE OWNERS! The only reason I would ever go back is for the quality of fish! The fish man is the best I've ever met in the area. They need to bring back the old staff but the owners have chased them all away. I won't be going back ever again.

This pertains to their fish department, and not the store as a whole. I waited to post this review wondering if I’d feel the same way after some reflection, because I have had a few great experiences at this shop. That said…. I’m in the saltwater coral business. I like to support local fish stores first! I went in that day because I had some coral left over after a shipment, and I was gonna donate it to the store, and pick up some supplies . I walked in and was immediately greeted by 2 employees offering to help. I declined, and went to the fish section. An older gentleman was servicing the tanks, so I waited for him to get done. Ten minutes later he walks over to me and tells me to put a mask on or leave. He then proceeded to go right back to what he was doing without asking what I needed. He just left me standing there. Mind you, nothing was marked outside or inside specifying that masks were mandatory. I checked! The employees up front didn’t bring it to my attention when I entered. I had a mask with me that I would have put on had he not blown me off. I turned, walked out the front door, and will gladly patronize another business who understands the value of a repeat customer. Again, I’ve had great experiences there, and everyone is due a bad day, but I’ll definitely tread carefully with this outfit going forward..

This is by far the best pet store in the area. I’ve been coming here ever since I first got into reptiles, and I can say I’ve never been disappointed. The staff are always super kind though I do wish some of the newer members were a little more knowledgeable, but I’ve never had any problems. They have the best variety of fish I’ve found so far in any local store, and the cherry shrimp are amazing quality. The price of some of their fish are unbeatable when you compare to breeders and if they don’t have what you want, it’s usually super easy to get it in. It’s always super nice to see Greg working when I come by as he’s always super nice to talk to and knows exactly what he’s doing. I think I’ll be visiting this store for years to come.

I went to Pet Smart and Petco for years but once I found Pet Lover's 4 years ago I haven't gone back.This place is amazing and the staff actually care about the animals and customers where the other pet stores seem to either push facts they were told to say don't your throat even if some of it isn't necessarily true. They are just doing their job but the Pet Lover's employees actually know their stuff because they have pets themselves.The owner is so knowledgeable and takes time to answer questions especially with fish. They might not have 1,000 options for animal supplies like the other stores but its because his options he has in his store have been tested and they are the best so he sells those.They don't push things down your throat at all but help you if you need it. The animals are supper active all the time and healthy.I just love this place. It's true....Pet Lover's go there. Bahahahaha No seriously, it's great.Th3 fish selection is amazing.

I love this store. I’ve been shopping here for years. I went in today and had a conversation with one of the employees that’s been there a long time. We came in to buy some new fish for our pond since we recently installed a new one. They didn’t have any fish that we liked in stock but we will check back in a few weeks. We picked up some other stuff we needed for the pond while we were there though. All the employees are respectful and helpful.

Male mice and female mice were being kept together. Multiple mice had wounds on them from fighting. Some were pregnant, others had babies that were getting attacked. The stuff was overpriced and the store smelled bad. Would definitely not recommend.

We have gotten all of our healthy fish from here. Greg is the best. He’s taught us most of what we know about fish and he’s the kindest person ever. The rest of the staff is also kind and will help you with whatever you need.

I go here to get rats for my snakes and seems like every time I go they are out of all sizes. It gets kinda frustrating only because I drive 30 min to get there. The only other place I know that sells live rats is at the beach.
