This is the best small town museum that we have visited. The wands provided narrate the entire tour through the museum with interesting facts interspersed with "as if you were there" stories. The displays blend seamlessly into the enlarged photos on the walls. It's set up to take you into the various buildings and displays. Well done!

We were there for the Oyster fundraiser. Great food! Great fellowship and lots of fun! This is a hidden treasure of the rich history of our area! The displays and narratives are amazing! If you've not stopped in, you need to make plans to do so!

Beautiful museum with an in depth explanation of past history. My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit her over the weekend. Very clean facility and such a sweet lady at the front desk. Purchased a cookbook and can't wait for my mother to get it for Christmas. Also, I love the fact that your building is ADA compatible.

So friendly!! We went with our two kids 8&6 years old and they loved it! For each section they had a recording to listen to explaining what you see.

I wanted to update my review since it has been some time since I visited the Museum. Today I went there to shop because a friend had a beautiful necklace and earrings they had purchased and they are made from cotton. I purchased several items and received only the finest customer service from the employees today. Many items to chose from for gifts and I highly recommend. My neighbor and I visited the Museum and since I knew nothing about Cotton from many years ago when it was hand picked I had the opportunity to learn so much about our history in the South and appreciate the cotton sacks our meal use to be purchased in along with the dresses made by my Mother. Great visit and as always the People of Elloree are wonderful.

Absolutely amazing museum! Made a pitstop over in Elloree after visiting Santee and was pleasantly surprised to find the town had a museum. Being that my niece just so happens to share her name with this town it was a must see! Admission to the site is $6 per adult and includes those little headset things that speak at each exhibit! In total it took a little over an hour to stop and explore each exhibit but this was totally worth it. I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting the area or that is interested in history. Could not say enough nice things about the folks working the front desk and the museum as a whole. Definitely a hidden small town gem!

My husband and I visited the museum on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed getting to know the history of the area. The exhibits are well presented and the commentary engaging. We were camping at the nearby state Park for the weekend and had gone into town for lunch at the Cleveland Street Cafe. Well worth the $6 fee.

This is an outstanding museum. It's well worth the trip. It's truly an education in the history of the town as well as the time. The self-guided tour allows you to take your time while still being fully informed. This was, bar none, the best small town museum I have ever been in.

Ever wonder why some medicine bottles are blue? Here in a very small town is one of the most beautifully done museums I've ever seen. Cotton gins, procreation of mules, a perfectly naive reminiscence of an 8 year old child from 1860, wrapped in the history of a small town from the 1700's on, with an optional and very well done audio tour. Remarkable.

Fell in love with the whole town of Elloree. While visiting the town we went in the museum and walked around and listen to the stories of how the little town was brought to life. But during this time my daughter was expecting her first child and was so undecided on what to name my first grand, so I called and told her about the little town. So we decided to name him Elloree. He wears the name with pride "the home I love".

Now this is a place to see history of the town of Elloree. Dioramas of most of the towns history. For a small museum this was very interesting.
