May I just take a moment and give SeaCow Eatery a chef’s kiss?! The food here was so good and they’re dog friendly. My family and I ordered: clam chowder, mini crab cakes, shrimp po boy, fried oysters/ shrimp/flounder/scallops, grilled scallops and a salad. Everything was seasoned to perfection. Service was great and it is such a laid back cozy restaurant. If I was having a bad day, I would come here and all my problems would go away.I would literally come back to Edisto Island just to eat the food here. This is the type of food where everyone at the table is quiet; because, it’s that good! I wish I would’ve taken pictures; but, I was so hungry that I couldn’t stop eating. Really worth trying!

Convenient location to the place we were staying, just a short walk. Friendly staff, but not very attentive. For it being a slow day, cleanliness of tables and deck area were lacking. Asked for coffee (it’s on the menu) and was told they didn’t have any. Cobb salad wasn’t well assembled and ingredients were almost questionable. Thankfully, the dressing covered the wrongs and I was hungry. Crab cakes were quite good, but accompanying coleslaw wasn’t worth finishing. It’s very early in the spring/summer season.Still, for two people to spend nearly $60 (including slightly above average gratuity), we definitely hoped for more. Didn’t take any pictures. Not trying to bash them. Might try it again sometime, but not this trip.

They have the most delicious sweet tea. For real- must try! We have tried the biscuits, pancakes, lunch menu and gluten-free toast with grits, bacon and fried eggs. All of it has been delicious especially breakfast items. They make great bacon. Generally they are quick to get food out.Vegetarian options: Grits, pancakes, french toast, side salad, I am sure there is more but that is what I remember seeingDietary restrictions: They offer gluten free bread.Parking: Parking out frontKid-friendliness: Chocolate chip pancakes are perfect for kids. There were a lot of kids dining there so it is perfect for families

The food was good. Grits are creamy and nice buttery taste. The 2 egg omelet with mushrooms, peppers, sausage and cheese was tasty. I would have preferred the grits separated from the omelet and not touching but no big deal. The service was excellent. Courteous staff. We arrived 11:05 a.m. and asked for breakfast and they accommodated us although breakfast service ends at 11:00 a.m. I will visit again.

All the stars w/out question.(I never say that)The food was delicious. Everyone at my table was 100% super happy with their plates. Overheard during dinner (at my table): "Best meal all week". "Wow...what a pleasant surprise, this is soo good".The rolls are magic. The setting is quaint and comfy. The staff was fun, patient, and knowledgeable. I commented that our waitress may very well may have been an owner, as even the best of staff can't put that kind of casual "on tap" care and attention to a table.

There is an off season on Edisto and we felt very lucky to find SeaCow open this second week of March. They have a great deck that is dog friendly and all the people we met were very friendly. I had a can of RJ Rockers Son of a Peach and my wife had Pino. I had a BLT which was Excellent and the creamy grits and field peas were outstanding. Tess had the Cow Burger. Edisto is beautiful and non commercial. The SeaCow is casual dining at its best.

"I'd like delicious seafood mixed with a bit of soul food cooking, with some smooth soul music playing in the background."'Yessir that'd be at the SeaCow, right this way.'"Oh and some calm outdoor seating and homemade pies for dessert.."'We got that too.'

We revisited this restaurant during a recent Edisto trip. One of the very few places in Edisto thats great for a quick lunch. There are seatings both inside and outside. They have the typical burgers, philly cheese steak sandwich, fries etc. The philly steak sandwich was great. Beer battered fries were great too. We were a large group that biked from nearby. Overall we weren’t disappointed.

SeaCow, to my knowledge, is the only restaurant open for breakfast on Monday and Tuesday on Edisto Island. So by default, this is where we went. The service was smooth for the most part and the waitress was patient. The coffee was from their distributor. My dad located the box in view from our table. It was weak and tasted of paper. I ordered the John's Omelet because my thought process was the biggest bang for my buck. If I had ordered an omelet with more than one meat and one other topping, it would have been close to the same price as the John's Omelet. I have SUPER high expectations for a breakfast joint and I tried my best to set those aside considering the situation. The omelet was edible even though the shrimp and all the other ingredients were over cooked. I was thankful they chose mozzarella for the cheese. It goes better with the ingredients in the omelet. The home fries had to be canned or just horribly cooked. They were super salty and mush. The biscuit looked frozen (I gave it to my mom who isn't super picky). And my dad's toast was barely toasted. Now the positive! The french toast was the star of the show. I would go back just for the french toast. They used sliced baguette bread and lightly dip it in a egg wash on one side. I'm not saying it was amazing. I am saying it is better french toast on average and definitely the best thing at the restaurant. It wasn't super sweet and it was a little salty. If you are like my parents though, you will drown it in processed syrup anyway. It did have powdered sugar on top as well. I didn't bother taking a picture of the french toast because a previous review provided an accurate picture.

Decided to take a drive a today and up going to Edisto Beach. The drive itself was really awesome. What wasn't awesome was the selection places available to grab a late lunch. The SeaCow Eatery was one of the only places open and it was quite charming on the inside. Decidedly more charming than our server but then she may have been finishing up a long day or simply knew we weren't locals. Despite all that, the food was good (the fries were really good) even if the prices were just okay. But, for a nice place to grab lunch after a quick Sunday drive there are certainly worse places.

This place has fantastic food and the friendliest staff! 2 Fisherman’s Platters, Peanutbutter Pie, and Berry Pie was a winner at the counter. Best place to eat for sure! Thanks So Much!

Their battered shrimp and battered fries are fantastic. Also just tried their collards for the first time and they are cooked just right.Try to save room for dessert. Their cakes and pies are beyond crave worthy. I think my favorite so far is the almond joy pie.The staff is friendly and the ambiance is pleasant. Highly recommend this place.

Literally everything was delicious. My husband said his cheesesteak was the best he had since moving to the South. Cheese grits were perfect. Homemade pies and giant chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Daughter says they are bussin! Everyone from granddaughter to grandma were happy. Good prices and portions.

Nice breakfast wish it could have been served warmer. Accessible to all, indoor and outdoor seating, and appeared to be a favorite among locals.

Excellent breakfast. The server was working hard, but wasn't very friendly. He wasn't rude, just not friendly. However, it was a nice experience. Restaurant was very cozy.

Food was good but wait & service were horrible. We waited 30 min to be seated which wasn't a big deal but then waited at tables on the patio in the sun with missing umbrellas & waited a miserable 1 1/2 hrs for our food. During this long wait, at no point were we apologized to, explained what was going on, offered anything comped or extra, & could barely even get our drinks filled. Also, come to find out, they have children's menus & coloring pages both of which were never offered or given to us. Had we known, we would've been able to order our preschooler something cheaper & had him busy coloring for a little bit. Oh, and the bugs on the patio were VERY numerous & extremly bothersome. It was a huge let down all around. I'd be wary to recommend.
