This was the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. Obnoxiously loud with people talking. Food was ok. The steak had a lot of fat and little flavor, very small baked potato, but the lima beans were delicious. The cold boiled shrimp was great as were the kids chicken tenders. The service was great though. Our waitress was excellent even though she was swamped (no pun intended!) There was outdoor seating with live music but the no see ums were so bad on the marsh no one could sit out there....beautiful view though. Seriously, when I say loud, I mean LOUD!!!!! The more people came, the louder it got and this was a week night. I seriously wanted to stand up and yell, "OK everybody, take your voice levels down a notch or two!" Not that enjoyable for what could have been a great dining experience.

This could have been a great night with a few changes. It’s definitely a locals hangout. We were sat at the bar and then we were asked to move 3 times while there so they could sit others as people came/left. We felt like we were in the way the entire time. The bar tender was pleasant enough but spent most of her time in a conversation at the other end of the bar. We weren’t told about any specials but the local couple who came in after us were given several special options. They all sounded great. If we go back, we will definitely wait for our own table.

The food was delicious. The pimento cheese spread is so good. We had shrimp and scallops. Both were cooked perfectly. I had grits on the side and these were some of the best I've ever had. The view is so pretty. Our server was friendly and helpful and the service was spot on. The only negative thing was the noise. It's very loud in there because it's small and crowded. But the food and the view made up for that.

We dined at Pressley's two weeks ago on a Saturday evening. I got the $27 overpriced encrusted grouper. There was nothing "encrusted" about it. It was a wet drippy yellow cheese mess. The veg of the day was canned green beans. Gross. The baked potato was good. My son got the chicken piccata. There were way too many capers on the dish, which didn't help with the flavor of the very bland pasta. He said the chicken was good. But certainly not worth the $25 price. Our server was lovely, but didn't make up for the bad food. And they no longer serve their black bean freebie appetizer, which has been the best thing I've had there in all the times we've been. I've had more disappointing visits here than good.

Food is average. We had she crab soup, shrimp, scallops and flounder. They were out of a lot of menu items including chicken wings. Our server was slow and seemed confused in general. It took forever to place our order and to get our check. Server put in an order for oysters instead of scallops. Not a good experience overall. We won't be back. We'd rather buy groceries at Food Lion rather than deal with all the frustrations and expense of this place. $114.00 before the tip for 2.

WoW! Amazing Service, Food and Coastal Vibe. Joanna was our Server and she Crushed it!! Highly recommend if your on the Island for the week. Be prepared to spend 30-50 a person, but let's be honest here. To make awesome memories while eating amazing coastal treats and having some great drinks on the water....$$$ Shouldn't get in the way. This is my 4th visit to the island, stayed for a week each time, and we have always eaten here our last night but I'm not sure if we're going to do so next year. The first year the food and service was amazing but every time since they both have gotten progressively worse, the service more so than the food. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't any better than what I've eaten at The Waterfront, Whaley's, or even Dockside Bar & Grill. The service tonight was just terrible. Don't know if we got a new server or not but she wasn't familiar with the menu, didn't know that the bar uses table salt (nasty!) for margaritas instead of kosher salt, didn't know the catch of the day, etc. She never asked us if we wanted dessert, she just dropped the checks in a stack. Every time she stopped by the table she tried to run off before we were done asking what we were asking. Service just ruined the whole experience.Update 9/3/23Decided to give them another chance after taking several years off and we're now done with Pressley's. Worst experience yet. The first thing we noticed was that we didn't get the free chips and dip that we have always gotten when we sat down. Service was absolutely terrible. We were considered a "large party" (only 5 of us) and accessed an automatic gratuity of 18%. I don't know if that is the reason why but our waitress completely ignored us. She made eye contact with me twice when walking past us and saw that two of us were out of tea but didn't stop. As a consequence I ended up waiting over 20 minutes for a drink. One person in my group ordered a large garden salad with shrimp and the waitress even asked what kind of dressing she wanted (balsamic); however, the food runner brought out a Caesar salad with shrimp and Caesar dressing. She was hungry so she ate it thinking that either the kitchen or runner made a mistake but when we got the check we discovered that she actually rang in a Caesar salad. Food runners brought our five meals out in four separate trips with the last meal not being complete. One person in the group ordered hamburger steak with grits and red rice that came out in waves. First wave was 17 minutes after the other four meals but only included the beef and grits and the second wave of his red rice came out eleven minutes later. My "broiled creek shrimp" was actually frozen salad shrimp (see picture) and my red rice was extremely dry and slightly burnt. My rice was probably the last of that batch which may explain why the other person's rice took so long to come out. This tells me that the kitchen staff doesn't know how to time their tickets nor be able to judge how much product they're going to need for the tickets they have. When we got our checks they were wrong but we made it work. This was the final nail in the coffin so it was definitely our last trip to Pressley's and we will give our money to all the other excellent restaurants on the island.

We are at Presleys for dinner tonight. We had a rather large party of 13 people, adults and kids. The service was fabulous our waitress was so polite and helpful. And the food was so good!!! We’re not big seafood people but the food we had was amazing!!! The crab cakes were so light and fresh, the shrimp boil was hot and spicy yet cooked perfectly. And the sesame ahi tuna was so good.

Quaint little place tucked away on the north side of the island. But don’t let the outside scare you away. Service is great and friendly and the food was outstanding. The BangBang shrimp app is enough for 3 or 4 people. We had crab cakes and broiled oysters and they both were fantastic. And did I mention the scenery? Nothing wrong with that either.

Got it to go. Cheese sticks were a little cold and sweet. Bang bang shrimp were cold, but still amazing. Shrimp and grits were awesome. Don't get the salad to go. Fish sandwich was ok. I know you are thinking it's to go so something's may have gotten cold on the ride. Don't think that was it. I was staying 2 mins from restaurant. Over all a good choice for take our.

Hands down one of the best meals a person can eat while at Edisto! Service was amazing, food was fast and cooked to perfection. You may not think about steak when at the coast, but the flat iron steak was amazing. The cheese grits were on point delicious. I can’t say enough good about this place. It cost a bit and it is worth every penny.

The service was adequate. The waitress completely forgot to order my Son’s meal. When I pointed it out and told her to disregard she still put it in. So we had to wait for that meal and took it home because we were already satiated.It is quaint. Great to watch sports at the small bar. Pricey for the portions.There is another small bar on the water beneath. Probably a more seasonal place. 😎😍🙏🏼

Keep in mind they do not take reservations and they do not allow take out food.They do not have tap beers, but their drinks are reasonably priced. I would suggest the flounder sandwich, everything else was underwhelming. None of the sides were fresh, the staff could use some training. I feel like this place takes advantage of the location. The dock bar is a fun spot with live entertainment. Bring your own cup!

Amazing food! Loved everything we got! Our waitress was very attentive. Some craft beer selection but lots of mixed drink options! Note that you can't park in front of the restaurant. You can drop off and pick up but you have to park across the street.

DO NOT recommend, unless you only go for appetizers and drinks (the hush puppies were awesome). Overall WAY too expensive for what you get. I ordered a side salad for an additional $4.75. When it came out, it was a plate of old lettuce with 3 DUSTY old carrots, 2 little slices of red onion, and 2 tiny grape tomatoes. I politely asked the waitress if I could return it and just get double green beans, which was the Vegetable of the Day, as every other side except French fries were all out...I ordered the Parmesan-encrusted Grouper. The fish was very good, apart from the puddle of melted butter on the plate, over-saturating my fish. The green beans were cold and disgusting. Absolutely no flavor and tasted like they came straight out of a can (everyone else who got green beans at the table hated them). When I told the waitress the green beans were cold, she irritably said “all I can do is replace it.” When I told her that was fine (since the only other side that wasn’t out of stock was fries), she said she would give me a discount for the green beans. If she had simply said she was sorry to hear that, I would not have been upset. But she had an unnecessary attitude. She must not have cared since we were a party of 7 and gratuity was automatically added. She only took $2.00 off my meal and my fiancé’s meal from a $100 check.Lastly, we were not told there would be a surcharge to use a credit card as payment until after we paid.
