The two people (a ranger and a woman) working check ins and reservations were amazing. We walked in hoping to reserve a tent site, unaware that most people book months in advance. They were completely booked, but they checked with a few guests that had mentioned early check out (they had decided to stay through their originally reserved time). The ranger drove the park to check for empty spots, while the woman working called another state park to check for availability. It was probably the most amazing guest services I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. The park was beautiful and the beach was pretty great. I considered giving only 4 stars, because being booked solid was really disappointing. However, the help we got from those workers was worth 5 stars. They really went above and beyond.

Very nice camping area of South Carolina State Parks. Me and my wife visited this park last week. The camp sites had water and electricity. Very good showers and bathrooms facilities. Our site was next to the beach, with easy access to the beautiful Edisto beach. I suggest you book your stay early for the best spots. Close to Charleston and Beaufort SC. Some nice restaurants close by as well. Overall it was a beautiful, relaxing place to camp and relax. They have 2 camp sites close to each other, we stayed at the ocean front camp sites. Highly recommend going to check this area out for yourself and enjoy our beautiful South Carolina State Parks.

My family and friends take an annual trip out to Edisto to stay in the cabins, socialize over bonfires, cook meals, and take bike rides and hikes. The cabins are various sizes to accommodate anywhere between couples and big families. Great area to get away for a while. A big pond is nearby and plenty of pluff mud for the kids to get dirty.

We've been there about 3 time and it's awesome, but it's a CCC campground. I was really hoping this place would stay grounded, but it's going to be a money machine charging $55.00 for New Years Eve and New Years night. Nothing changes for that campground on those nights--you don't add anything--nothing special. Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful place and pet friendly beaches is a big plus, but there isn't laundry or sewer. Now, for spring it $80.00 a night for the beach are and $65.00 a night for live oaks. It's not a resort. Trails are ok.

This place is absolutely beautiful this is definitely my favorite beach to go to. It's family oriented and the beach is beautiful.Walkability: If you're handicap they have parking right there where you don't have to walk far at all to get to the beach.

Access to the beach while camping was very convenient. Very quiet location. At night time the campsites are overrun by Raccoons. These raccoons are not afraid and will come up to your campfire. Even when you yell at them and shake a stick at their face, they're not afraid and stand their ground.

Several access trails to the beach. Some sites were shaded. They scraped the roads twice while we were there.Walkability: Walking distance to the beach, grocery store, and several restaurants.

Nice park overall, but the facilities are really dated. When you pay for entrance to a state park and look for a place to change into your swimsuit, you expect something a little nicer than a dark shack with no lights inside. After swimming for the morning, we enjoyed a picnic lunch on the tables that were well-placed in the shady areas by the parking lot.

I've been to the campground and beach. Great location. I booked a second trip. I had to cancel 7 days before arrival and was charged $55 administrative fee. Problem is 7 days later still no refund. I spoke to an employee and was told it can take 6 days and as many as 10. I complained that for $55 it should not take this long. Employee said he just works there. I had to tell him as an employee he needs to tell his employer customers are calling Bill and maybe they will improve their policies. After all, shouldn't this be about the customer?

Very nice park and campground. Very lush and green in the live oak camp area. Looks like you woke up in Durassic Park. Sites are sufficient for most camping. Staff very friendly. Very family oriented. If your into bright lights, big city, you may want to get a hotel room at Myrtle Beach because this is far from the bustle of hotels and shops. There are a handful of seafood restaurants with bars, a food lion, subway sandwich(in the gas station),a package store, and gas/convenient store.Nearby activities: All nature oriented.

Beautiful beach RV park with level sites, water and electric hookups, picnic tables, and well maintained grounds. Our space was just steps from the beach dunes, and there was a paved walking path right to the beach. The landscaping is wonderful and your RV is close enough to the water to hear the waves in the distance as you relax and enjoy the sea air. The restrooms and shower house was clean and modern and had plenty of hot water. As a disabled person, I would've liked to have had a bench or chair in the shower, but other than that, they were very nice. The park ranger was nice enough to deliver a "loaner" beach wheelchair to our site for my use during our stay, which was much apppreciated. It made it much easier for me to enjoy the beach area. We stayed here in a 34' Class A.

Our family loves the coastline in this part of the state. The state parks is the way to go. It's usually not to busy and there are bathrooms nearby. Picnic tables and trials to explore. This spot was close to the touristy part but still had a lot of space on the beach. The waves were good today and there was some small spots sectioned off because it was a turtle's nest. There was. Gift shop nearby and a board walk with more shops close as well. You could walk the whole beach which was at least a mile both ways where we were. Love the state parks. Good investment of tax payer monies.

Great beach! Sand is more like tiny rocks vs powdery. There were huge waves the day we went because of storms off shore, but the tide isn't usually that rough.

Enjoyed Edisto Beach State Park, recommend as a great destination. Two campground, one on the beach, the other has a nature center and fishing pier on the inlet. Both are beautiful. The beach was not crowded in May, and early morning I had the beach to myself. No-see-um gnats can be annoying near the inlet. Not a problem on the beach. Some good short trails that are fun to exploreNearby activities: Botany Bay was really worth the visit. Good short trails to explore.

Nice beach access park. Can get full early and easy. They have shelters and grills, bathrooms/changing rooms, showers at the beach edge and a gift shop by the beach. There is a wheelchair path to get to the beach. There is another area up the road that is the main park with walking trails and a nice nature center as well as camping areas in that wooded area and the have camping at the beach site available. Bring bug spray if camping at the wooded area. Camping at the beach part can be booked up a year in advance. And when the weather is nice in Sept early October, you take a risk of missing your campsite due to possible hurricanes.
