Called and spoke with a very nice receptionist. She answered all my questions and was helpful. I asked for a specific color chair as I was keeping it for a minimum of one month in my den. She checked the inventory and said that the beige color that I wanted was available for the next day delivery. When I received my chair it was not the color that I asked for so I called back to let them know and see about getting the correct color. The guy that I spoke with was argumentative and told me every reason why I could not get the color that was agreed-upon. I asked to speak to the manager who he said was his brother. He was not there, but called me back the next day. I got similar treatment from him “with attitude”. I kept the chair that was delivered to me. But there was no apology whatsoever. My one star rating relates totally to their customer service, which is basically nil. Good luck if you do business with them and have a problem because they probably won’t make it right.

Hey everyone! I've been an employee with Affordable Medical a little over a year now. I began working on their website from home, and have worked my way into the store, assisting in other capacities as needed. I just wanted to take the time to tell anyone who would possibly listen, I LOVE IT HERE! This is an amazing American based company, local to Columbia, SC. Did I mention its family owned? It is! Chris, his mom, and brother started the business about 15 years ago now, and have evolved it from a little building they were renting to now a building they built on 1812 Sunset Boulevard.Over the time I have been in the store working, I found that I just love the family dynamic. Not only are they a family running a business, the employees that work for Chris and everyone who walks in the door to buy anything instantly become part of their family. The employee banter, which I have come to love, cracks me up on a daily basis. But let me tell you, when it comes to their customers, it is hands down, some of the best service I've seen in a long time.Lets start, with their policy on incoming phone calls...there isn't an answering service. Yes, if you call and everyone is busy, it will go to an answering machine where you will leave a message, but they will get back to you! There isn't any of the hated "Press 1 for X, Press 2 for Y," nonsense that so many of us have great disdain for nowadays. We just want to speak to a person and that you will get at Affordable Medical.What about the in store, you might ask? It reminds me of days gone, when I was a girl, going to the local feed store with my grandpa. You get the usual pleasantries, hey how are you doing, and so forth when you first come in. They are more than willing to help you find what you need, and more, because lets face it, when you have the need to come into a store like this, it isn't usually a fun reason. You or a loved one are probably having some sort of problem, or need some sort of assistance to make quality of life better. Then as time goes on, they really get to know you. You get the "How's your momma and Daddy?" treatment many love and appreciate when you come in for purchases. I love that and miss that about doing business when I do Don't you? Go see them at Affordable medical, I can assure you, you won't be sorry!

People were very friendly and helpful! I needed new casters for my wheelchair which are a weird size and they had something in stock that were able to fit! They also replaced them for me which was nice and were able to help me solve my lack of storage problem with a cute bag that goes on the wheel. Overall very helpful and fairly cheap!

This company used my credit card to pay for another customer's medical equipment. When I confronted an employee about the charge, he did very little to research the problem and just told me my credit card had been hacked. I then had to cancel my credit card and dispute the unauthorized charge. Unbelievably, Affordable Medical denied my disputed charge and thus the credit card company placed the unauthorized charge back on my card. I then confronted the owner and he was finally able to figure out that his company made the mistake and my card was not hacked. The owner never corrected the transaction with the bank. After almost 3 months of trying to get this resolved, the company reimbursed me for the transaction and paid me a whopping $19.75 for the many hours of my time I wasted trying to get this unauthorized charge off my credit card.

Prompt order confirmation. VERY competitive pricing. The scooter was drop shipped from the manufacturing facility. The scooter arrived on time and the tracking was "spot on" accurate. It arrived and the delivery man placed it in my garage. No dents or problems with the packaging. The scooter was easy to assemble and the performance exceeded my expectations. Very pleased with every aspect of the purchase. I wholeheartedly recommend Affordable Medical Equipment for product, pricing and sales service. My husband and I, along with a group of friends, wanted to bless our sister in Christ with a portable mobility scooter. We all live in south Louisiana and she lives in South Carolina. We all knew that she could benefit from having a portable mobility scooter and that it would improve her quality of life following her stroke. Affordable Medical Equipment was the first store I contacted, and after speaking to Chris, I knew right away that there was no use in looking any further. Chris is an amazing sales person and I could tell right away that he cared more about our friend and meeting her needs than about making money. He poured his heart into making this surprise moment go perfectly for her. He decorated the scooter with Christmas greenery and a big red bow and included a gift bag with a few freebies just from him to add to our gift. I sent him a full page photo card with all of our pictures on it and a Christmas message to our friend, and he graciously had it printed and presented it to her. I had her convinced that I had rented her a scooter for a week to take on a little outing with her daughter, and Chris played along with our scheme! When she showed up to pick up her rental, he came riding out on the one we purchased for her, and she was beyond surprised. Chris totally made this moment memorable for all of us. He went out of his way to make this surprise an awesome experience. I can't say enough good stuff about my long-distance experience with him and the staff at Affordable Medical. He made our desire to bless our friend extra special.

I had an injury to my ankle and crutches are overrated. My wife made contact with Chris and he told her that he had just what I needed to get around better. Boy, he was not kidding! She and I came in and he set me up with a knee scooter. What a world of difference. We were in and out in 5 minutes. Chris was very humorous and a pleaseure to work with. I went in Thursday to rent a scooter for my grandaughters graduation. They were so helpful and quickly helped me pick out one. I paid and my daughter picked up for me on Saturday (she lives in W.Columbia) . I loved the scooter and it saved my knees and feet some wear and tear…lol although it did cut off on me a couple of times ,it started right back up.So they’re closed on Sunday but I only needed it for Saturday at 4. They didn’t charge me for Sunday. Plus my daughter was suppose to take it back on Monday morning but in all the excitement,she forgot all about it until her husband asked her when they were suppose to take it back. Well, she took it back this morning(Tuesday) and they were sooo nice to her and didn’t charge her for that extra day ,that she called me and said “momma, you better write them a review and make it good cause they were so nice about it”…..and here it is! ..lolI would rent from them again ….in a heartbeat!

It's hard to make a great business better but the new location has definitely stepped it up even more. When you could that with the warm greeting when you walk in and friendly staff this is the only place I will go for medical equipment. Family run business and Brandon went above and beyond to help my wife who broke her foot and was not able to enjoy the end of the warm weather. Brandon set us up with an awesome off road scooter and she was able to still join me for disc golf and had a blast. I had no idea a medical scooter could do what thing does. I have to admit I was jealous as she flew around in what I can only describe as a 4-wheeler with a lounge chair. Excellent experience highly reccommend even if it just to stop by and pet the dog(Bella).

The customer service here is simply amazing!! My mom had bought a scooter from here about two years ago, she loves it and it enables her to get around, she can’t live without it! Well, just before my sister and her family were coming down for Easter weekend, mom’s scooter stopped working. Not only did they fix it, they lent mom a scooter, delivered her fixed scooter with a new basket, all in 2 days and didn’t charge her a cent!!! Unbelievable service, I can’t recommend them enough!!!

I bought a deck lift and “Stand up” chair for my mother from Christopher at Affordable Mobility. Pouring a concrete slab, fence work and deck reworking were needed to install a 700 lb. electric deck lift. I communicated from another state with Christopher throughout the process. Wonderful, kind, helpful local business. They went above and beyond for an elderly woman I help to care for. They offered her a loaner chair while hers was being repaired and even came right back after delivering the loaner to change it to right-hand drive. Despite being very busy, they came out the same day to replace her chair's front tires that had dry-rotted. Always very pleasant and affordable! Highly recommended!

My Daughter has MS and I had a prior great experience with Affordable Medical Equipment and On 3-1-19 I was looking for a Electric moving Wheel Chair to aid in her mobility. I was helped by Denise, owner who was knowledgeable. She showed me a wheel chair that was light in weight and sized to easily be operated in small places. Denise also helped me so it fit within my budget. In addition held it aside to 3-4-19 so I could make arrangements so my Daughter could see if it would work for her. My Daughter was excited and I purchased it. NOTE, Denise said something that will stick with me when I had thanked her with the super great price she had quoted. She stated When people go to a store they buy something they want. When they come here It's something they need. This was not a sales pitch. She was without any question totally sincere. I highly recommend this family owned business to anyone who is in search of Medical Equipment.

Chris was extremely helpful to me at my recent trip to this store. He took great effort to put a cart together for me. I spent about thirty minutes in the store, and witnessed his Christian heart as he helped an older disabled woman with her wheelchair and waited on another customer. Denise and Tom were also helpful when at the store. They are first class, kind and compassionate people. We live over 2 hours away and it was well worth the drive to receive such great service and to see and try out all the equipment, chairs and aides they have in stock. Tom and Chris are wonderfully patient. I bought a walker (a rollator) over a year ago and recently bought an electric scooter and a power lift which allows me to move the scooter in and out of my car. I had some questions and needed a few adjustments to be made. I was anxious about 'bothering' them but Tom and Chris are VERY understanding, made things work the way I needed, worked quickly and efficiently, and made me feel welcome and happy at every turn. I did some shopping before I ever when there and their prices are reasonable, these are excellent people to work with - I believe it is a worker or family owned business - and I'd give them more stars if possible. I totally recommend them.

Absolutely wonderful customer service, Chris walked us through the many options they had available until we found the right fit for my grandmother. He educated us on the myriad of features available for the lounge chairs we tested them out until we found the right chair. He offered great conversation on top of the customer service and we will certainly be back for our medical supply needs!!!
