The Better Bark reached out to me on Facebook after I inquired about finding a reputable groomer to take care of my huskies. I have a dramatic, cranky male and a deaf senior female and after a year of no grooming, they were overdue.Meredith welcomed both of my babies with open arms. Any questions I have, she is always available to chat. For example, Comet had an upcoming appointment when I noticed a hot spot on his hip. I messaged Meredith as I did not want to miss this appointment but feared we had to, and she immediately shrugged the sale off and gave me fur mama advice on what I could to do heal it.And let me brag on their de-shedding as well. Gemma never misses an opportunity to blow her coat. If it’s cold, it blows, if it’s hot, it blows. I can’t express enough how my house will have hair tumbleweeds blowing across it like it’s the Wild West. And my gosh, The Better Bark did a fantastic job deshedding her. This past fall and winter, Gemma did not shed AT ALL. My Roomba had a nice break for the holiday!You can tell they are genuine dog lovers. I don’t trust anyone else with my dogs. My babies come home refreshed, relaxed and looking great. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Life savers!! Meridith and Marla came to my dogs rescue when he got sprayed by a skunk. They took him in immediately and did such a wonderful job and my big fur baby is now smelling great and cleaner than ever.

My dog was shaking when picked up from the Better Bark, which had never happened before. My dog has been groomed by many people over the years and has never had any reaction such as this. When I got my dog in the car, I saw that there were small several cuts with dried blood on my dog’s stomach. The hair cut was uneven and didn’t look professionally done. My dog didn’t even smell clean, so I’m wondering if a bath actually occurred or if it was a dry cut. It was extremely chaotic when I took my dog in and there was a long wait. Other clients looked annoyed as well. Unfortunately the owner would not admit or even discuss this with me and got quite angry that I was concerned that my dog was hurt.She has now accused me of writing a “fake” review, which I assure you this is not. There was not an angry exchange or “betrayal”. I was not rude or “chaotic” to her or her staff, although she was quite rude to me.I did let the owner know initially, when my pup first became a client, that I was pleased with her grooming. However, after my dog was cut and bruised, I stopped going to The Better Bark.She has written an unprofessional response to my review since the review sheds the establishment in a poor light, justifiably, and said unprofessional things on a social media platform. She has violated privacy laws by utilizing my personal information, which will be addressed.This has been my email address for many years, therefore, the accusation of hiding behind a “fake” email address is inaccurate as well. Please note that all reviews I have made have been from this email address. I do come from Pennsylvania but live in SC now, so I’m not certain why the owner feels that is relevant.A civil reply would have been much more meaningful.If the business owner would have spoken to me courteously regarding the issue, I would not have written this review. I would not recommend this establishment.

First time dog owner here! I brought my golden in for a bath and deshedding, Kristin went above and beyond for him! She brought him out for me looking brand new with his coat. We will be coming back!

We had heard about a sweet dog they had in the shop who they were looking for a home for and my mother was looking for a friend to keep her company so we went to meet her. My mother decided with the owner to do a foster run to see if Oreo (the pup) would be a good fit in her home. After about a week Oreo had ran away from her multiple times, would not respond to her name being called, and had been chasing the neighbors horses so it had become evident that it would not be the best fit. A few weeks after having to take her back, the owner stopped by my place of work and while talking to my boss and I, she obviously forgot that it was my mother she was speaking about and took it upon herself to call my mother a stupid c*** right in front of me and say she “was just looking for a security system and doesn’t need a dog” which is simply not true. My review is not based on the services of grooming but I feel this review is still applicable due to the dog being made available for adoption through her grooming salon. I would avoid this place of business if you don’t enjoy being slandered behind your back.

Just not what I expected. Maybe next time will be better. Her name is Little Miss Abigail. Her nails were not cut near as well as her vet did it and not enough trimed around her rear that causes things to get stuck in her hairs. Also was not aware that we needed cash to do business here so we had to go to the bank to bring back the payment. I thought every business like this took a debit card.

I really enjoy taking my "bear" there. Meredith and Marla are so sweet and friendly. My "bear" requires alot of special attention. They have always been so good to him and he always comes home smelling and looking so good:)
