A family member recommended Paws and Purrs. Very busy vet clinic and I feel that is an attestation to the staff and their quality of care! The staff was wonderful, especially Doc! They took their time to answer all our questions and were very thorough. They were patient with our crazy 6 month old. I am so glad we chose them for our fur babies veterinarian care!

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a veterinarian. This popped up as being the closest one to where I moved and had pretty good reviews. For starters, I called to make an appointment last week on Monday and a girl at the front desk took my info and said she’d call to set something up. I waited until Tuesday of the next week and told the girl that answered that I was waiting to hear from them. She didn’t apologize and just pushed forward with scheduling the appointment. She scheduled it for later in the week. Great! She told me to bring paperwork from the previous vet visits and I did that. Showed up on time for my appointment. I had put my records on the counter and was told I was checked in and no mention of what to do with the file I had brought so I just sat down. Waited 45 minutes. It did not appear to be busy. There was 1 dog that was there when we arrived. Needless to say after 45 minutes of being asked my name to check me in and then dismissed. I had no other interactions with anyone that worked there. I’ve worked in healthcare and I understand that scheduled appointments fall behind but it’s just common courtesy to keep people updated. Especially if you’re running behind. I just felt very “dismissed” from the phone conversations to the time I was there. I am expecting to pay for services and want a friendly atmosphere to take my fur babies to. This place was not it for me. Quite unfortunate, but I’d rather travel half hour/ hour for a pleasant experience than be close and feel like I’m not valued as a client. I have already made arrangements elsewhere.

Dr. 'Laney' Walker and his staff are wonderful. He truly cares about your fur baby and your wallet. As busy as he is, he takes his time to listen and educate his patients. He is personable and warm and that really helps to put your mind at ease. I just can't say enough about Dr Laney and his staff. They are wonderful. My Mickey is feeling so much better. 😻 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Took 2 months to get an appointment, then waited 3 hrs after getting there, now it’s been 3 months with no call back or returned messages while we’re still waiting to here what the specialist said! I’m very upset over this for my dog, he deserves much better. If you don’t have time to do your job right the first time when will you have time to correct it? Pathetic.

We took our baby corgi Zoe for shots and check ups! Very affordable and the front desk lady had a bunch of corgis and we’re super nice i definitely recommend! I also love some of the other doctors!

Our dog cut his paw pad and his vet could not see him that day so we took a chance at paws and purrs and it was the best veterinary experience we have ever had. They listened to what we had to tell them about our dog and his personality. They listen to what had happened to him, and they were super tentative and understanding about our situation. provided us with Medicine and compassionate care for the dog and ourselves. I highly recommend this veterinarian!!!!! Thank you so much. This place is a blessing from God.

This place is amazing. Myself and my parents have come here for multiple different pets. Dogs and cats. I can tell you clearly and unequivocally that I will NEVER take my pets anywhere other than here ever again. This man loves animals, is straight forward, and actually will lose money rather than try to play off your emotions and milk you like other places.5 stars isn't enough, this place gets 10 damn stars!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Walker and all the staff. I like how Dr Walker talks more to my dogs than to me sometimes lol. One being a very sweet pitbull mix whom he not only spoke to but even kissed her face! Most people shy away from her bc of her looks. Staff has even asked about my other dogs, by name, when I’ve gone in. You can tell everyone in the building loves animals. I’ve gone in with emergency type situations and was seen immediately and I’ve had to wait longer before due to other’s emergencies. I understand and appreciate that very much. The absolute best & knowledgeable veterinarian I’ve ever seen! I completely trust his judgement and expertise! Highly recommend!!!

I love this veterinary office. Dr Walker treats all 5 of our dogs. I wouldn’t take them any where else. He fixed one of our rescue dogs and she was allergic to the thread he used from the surgery, he didn’t charge me for the follow up visit to go back in and suture her wound back up nor the one after to make sure she actually healed when he took the sutures back out. He did the same care for my Golden Retriever when we got her fixed. I love this Dr and staff. The girls in the office are rock stars and so is the Dr to me and my babies.

The staff are very nice and make you feel good that you brought your pet. The Doctor is one of the best I've met, was very concerned about my dog, told me what he thought was wrong and set him up for surgery the next day. They all took great care of my little buddy. I highly recommend!!!

These are really good people. Dr. Walker did real well treating my cat. Every office I called told me 3 week wait, but his office does walk-ins and was worth the 45 minute drive.

Best Vet BAR NONE!I am posting photos of Godiva who broke her jaw completely almost at the joint. Dr. Lanny drilled the jaw and placed pins to support the lower jaw. Her jaw was hanging down useless. Now it is practically normal as you can see..Great work... Lanny is perhaps the best surgeon in the area.I highly recommend his expertise.Thank you for a job well done and also your kind and professional staff!

I had a very sick cat & my vet cancelled on me this morning. I called Paws & Purrs & explained my situation. They saw my fur baby at 11:30. She's having surgery right now. Dr.Walker & staff were very friendly. Dr. Walker explained everything & I knew she was in good hands.I will be coming back with all my pets

Took our female blue heeler to be spayed they didn't have no trouble with her at all. And we didn't have no complications or problems with her after we got home. We had took her to the ASPCA twice in Asheville and they couldn't get it done cuz they didn't have the right medication. Their medication is limited they don't carry the same as the veterinarian's office.

Myself and my fur babies love this Clinic. Dr Walker is kind, gentle and thorough. It takes an animal to get a true reading of a person and all of my babies approve. Wow what a Awesome experience!. Had a problem with our baby Fuggin. Called an they got us right in. Bettyjo was Absolutely Amazing! She took down all his information. Was so gentle with him. Made us feel relaxed that he was in good hands. Dr. Walker was so helpful in explaining what was happening an how to take care of the problem. The ladies up front were also helpful. Totally an Awesome place . Would Highly recommend them. So glad we chose them.
