Carrie is the BEST! She got my Wheaten Terrier - Mini Poodle mix in very quickly and got him cleaned UP! He looks amazing, and it was the first time that I think he actually had an enjoyable experience getting groomed. I feel so comfortable leaving my baby there! A couple of weeks later, she groomed my Great Pyrenees - Border Collie mix and he's never looked better. 10/10 recommended getting your dog(s) in here!

Nice quiet pet shop with self serve grooming facilities. They provide a clean towel, waterproof apron, soap, brushes, nail clippers and a vacuum. There is only one bath area for big dogs, and 3-4 other small ones.I gave it 4 stars because the soap is pretty diluted, I have a big dog with thick fur and used the whole bottle and I think he could've used another/deeper wash.There is only one option of soap and its in a blank bottle so I'm not sure what brand/type it was.The hose in the large bath doesn't extend so I couldn't get the under side of my dog as wet/clean as I'd like.I think this would be a perfect find for anyone with a small dog.The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful and of course my pup got a treat from them after his bath.

I feel very bamboozelled by The Dog Wash. We recently moved to the downtown Charleston area and were excited to find a groomer. We have a shih tzu who I brush daily, but it had been a few month since we got her groomed. I was excited to bring our dog to The Dog Wash.First, based on their website, it says the establishment is downtown. I showed up at the downtown location to find they have temporary moved to North Charleston. Fine. We drove up there.We spoke to Abby about how we would like her groomed. I mentioned that I brush her daily. Abby was holding and petting our dog while we were discussing what we would like. I explained that if it was possible we would like her short, fluffy and pretty.It wasn’t until they called the next day to bill me that things went wrong. Based on their website, I was anticipating her grooming to be between $60-70 then the $15 drop off fee. However, Instead of calling to discuss the options for my dog, they went ahead and performed an additional service on her WITHOUT my authorization!I have had this dog for 15+ years and any time I have taken her to a groomer they always call to get authorization to perform services that weren’t discussed at the time of consultation/drop off. The Dog Wash did not do this and I was charge $155 for my dogs grooming! This is unacceptable! If they picked up the phone or texted me about the services I would have changed our groom style.People need to be aware that this place is performing additional services and charging people! I will never bring my dog here again, and I’m still looking for a groomer.

Visiting from out of town and dog badly needed a grooming session. The Dog Wash delivered! Best grooming my dog has ever received. Offered hair dying as well so figured why not and the results were spectacular. Going to try to squeeze in another appointment before heading home!

Great experience. They went above and beyond for us! It’s a super cute and clean place. I’ve tried to groom my rescue cockapoo at home since having a bad experience somewhere else a couple years ago. My efforts are definitely not professional! So, I decided to try a groomer again.It was easy to schedule the appointment. They were the first to actually answer when I called a few places. Xena looks and smells great and they followed our requests for her cut very well. Thanks so much!!!

My dog Louis lovesss this place. So do I though. My friend Carrie runs this place and it is top of the line. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere with welcoming feel and everlasting love for the dogs that come through. My dog is VERY hairy and the difference when I pick him up is jaw dropping. He stays soft for at least two weaks and his shedding completely stops.

One of my favorite things about Charleston is the friendly community vibe of the small businesses and The Dog Wash is best in class for that. Carrie and her pack are amazing with the dogs. When I bring my doodle mop head in to be groomed, I bring my other 4 for self bathing. Carrie does all their nails without skipping a beat on her other clients. Always with a megawatt smile. I cannot recommend this place highly enough 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

I just picked my dog up after having the absolute worst experience I have ever had with grooming. When I went to drop him off I already had a bad feeling as their temporary location was dirty with 6-7 small dogs running and barking around the area. I was not informed of this prior to booking and was very uncomfortable about the situation and asked for my dog to be placed in the kennel away from the dogs. I asked for my labradoodle to be trimmed on his legs, sanitary areas, ears, and face. When I arrived 3 hours later. I saw multiple dogs in cages with box fans and lots of other dogs fur being blown on their faces to “dry” them. One dog was even fighting to get out of the cage. My dog’s cut was done very poorly as his legs were not even trimmed in the back at all and his ear still had knots on the inside as if they didn’t finish cutting him even though they told me when to come. Finally I was charged 114 dollars for this service which makes no sense for their pricing online and I’m not sure how my 60 pound dog with a partial trim dog could be priced like that. Leaving me to believe they added their tip on without my knowledge. My dog was freaking out the entire drive home and hyperventilating and I am honestly so disgusted with the entire situation. I walked out covered in other dogs fur after only being inside for a few minutes due to the lack of cleaning inside. I am not one to write reviews but I think it is important to protect your dogs from coming here.

We love The Dog Wash! It’s always telling how amazing and caring a business is when you walk by with your puppy and the owner offers to trim his toe nails for free to get him use to it- then gets on the floor and does it herself: Carrie is awesome! Everyone is very easygoing, professional, and you can tell they love what they do! Sheepadoodle Wally is a huge fan!

We've been bringing our pup here for 3 years now and we've only had positive experiences! Whether it's a full trim or a quick touch up before the holidays, we trust our fur baby with the Dog Wash ❤️ they also are so sweet and look out for health issues to bring up to our vet (ex. ear or skin issues) and since we've been going so long she can make comments about how a new food is improving our dog's coat (just an example). I can't say enough positive things about this small business 🤗

We absolutely love The Dog Wash! We wouldn't trust anyone else with our big fluff ball! He usually hates baths and they are so great at The Dog Wash with him. They keep him calm and he always comes home smelling and looking great! We couldn't recommend them enough for all your dog grooming needs :)

The Dog Wash is so wonderful and I love taking my two dogs there. One gets a full groom and my other pup just gets a bath each time. They always look so great and smell amazing when I pick them up. We are so happy to have this business in our neighborhood. Their tubs can accommodate all sizes of dogs from our 60 pound lab mixes to our former 150 pound foster dog. Carrie and her team are very friendly and great with pups, even the scared ones. Customers have the option to schedule professional grooming or use The Dog Wash supplies to bathe your own dog in their thoughtfully designed bathing stations.

I often call the Dog Wash the “happiest place on earth.” You’re not just welcomed into the shop by Carrie, but by her dogs Monty & Crickett and the other dogs getting groomed that day. After trying numerous groomers over the years for my shih tzu, my search has been over because Carrie cuts her exactly like she should be and enjoys every minute when she has her and my other big dog that only needs basic grooming. I love this place and so do my dogs!

The Dog Wash is such a great place! I'm always skeptical of taking my 5 year old rescue to new groomers but they could not have been more welcoming or kind to me and my dog. They not only listened to what I wanted, they even wrote it down. The location is extremely convenient being that we only live a few blocks away, but they also have parking for those who need to drive. When I picked up Daisy yesterday she looked amazing and they made sure I was happy with the cut. She even got a bowtie for her collar that the owner hand-makes! Please support this local business, you and your dog will not be disappointed!

Gave my puppy a great cut! Noticed a skin infection on my dog during his first appointment and alerted me so that I was able to take him to the vet and discover his allergies instead of cutting and irritating/hurting him. He was very happy to come back for his cut and clearly they take great care of the dogs in their care! Thank you!!

We love this place!!! We have been taking our 2 dogs for self wash or grooming since they opened 3 years ago and have always been treated so well! The owner always remembers not only the dogs names but the people too! Everyone we have encountered has been kind and helpful. Highly recommended! I’d give 10 stars if I could 🌟

We had an amazing experience at the Dog Wash. we have an 11 month old mini bernedoodle that we brought in. He had never been groomed before and had grown very long hair and even some matted fur because of the length. We dropped him off and when we picked him up we were so happy with the result. He looked fantastic after his cut and they were able to get all the knots out. We are definitely going back. They were a joy to give our business to.

I can't say enough about how wonderful The Dog Wash (and Carrie) is for our busy family! We have been taking our labradoodle here since it opened. He has a coat that needs regular tending to so this is a twice a month appointment for a brush out plus quarterly or so cuts with The Dog Wash's groomer, Danie. These ladies truly make my life easier... how many businesses can you say this about?... and do it with such care. They've identified allergies under his fur that can't be seen until he's bathed, so I would have missed it. And I always know he's being cared for by the best, which makes these regular drop offs easy! We're so lucky they are here.

This was our first visit there, and when we walked in, there were two beautiful big dogs to greet us. We have a little boston terrier named Betsy, who was in need of a nail trim. She becomes very nervous when it comes to nail cutting to the point where I couldn’t do it at home. While there, she feel on her head when we tried to cut her nails. She got back up like nothing happened and we took her over to the grooming station. While there two employees helped hold and told her how beautiful she was and gave her kisses to calm her down. Betsy had a seizure while they cut her nails. The staff knew exactly what to do and didn’t panic. I wish I got all there names, because they weren’t fazed by Betsy’s epilepsy, they were kind and sympathetic. There care went above and beyond and this one of the first successful nail trims we have had. The Dog Wash is the only place we will do business now. Thank you guys so much. It meant the world to us.

What a great place! Took my 200+ lbs Great Dane here for the first time. The staff is outstanding and extremely helpful. If you are tired of wasting time washing your dog at home, this is the best place in Charleston. Convenient and very reliable pricing.

I’ve never had great luck with dog washes for Bishop but I can’t say enough about Carrie and her staff. They’re extremely attentive and want to know everything about your dog. More importantly though they’re true dog lovers and love what they do. Bishop always goes in smelling dirty and comes clean and smelling wonderful!
