I have taken my 12lb Maltipoo to countless groomers and they were never able to handle her anxiety and aggression during grooming. I took a chance when I called Scenthound and we could not be happier. They are patient and loving with Gertie and she always looks adorable and smells great. She gets more comfortable with every visit:) The staff is kind and helpful. Definitely recommend!!

We had an appointment with Carolina Grooming for Monday and got a text on Sunday saying the owner had closed the shop and had opened a mobile grooming service but our appointment was not being honored and our 2 babies were in dire need of haircuts so I started calling around and most grooming services were 4-6 weeks out on appointments and I really didn't want to go to one of the big box stores and then I came across Scenthound and seeing all the 5 star reviews I was wondering are they really that good ? I was able to schedule an appointment in two days and I'm so glad I called They did an AMAZING job and they were very happy when I picked them up so I will continue to use Scenthound grooming and have already recommended them to a few people. A BIG Thank you to all the groomers that made Sadie & Cooper look like Movie Stars !!

I was so impressed with Scenthound. I’ve been to a few groomers and since my husband has allergies, it was the first place that actually suggested scent free shampoo and no perfume after as an option. It was so nice that they were conscious of that. They were very helpful and listened to everything about my pup so they could get to know him. He looked adorable after, they did an excellent job!!!

Great experience today at Scenthound, James Island. The staff is warm and friendly. You can tell they love dogs. My dog looks and smells wonderful… she even made me take her to lunch afterwards to show off her new trim. The membership is very transparent and my dog and I are looking forward to our next appointment.

I wish I could leave more than 5 stars!!! This was my pup’s first visit to a groomer. She had an AMAZING experience! They were so gentle and patient! She is under 5 lbs, so everything had to be introduced slowly, gently and carefully- and it was! Kudos to the entire staff! We are clients for life!

I just moved to the area and based on the numerous 5 star ratings I decided to try Scenthound grooming on James Island. I was not disappointed! My Shihpoo mix is 12 years old and they did a fantastic job with him. He smells fantastic and looks great. He also did not seem stressed as they sometimes get when going to the groomer. I also appreciate their quick turnaround time and the friendliness of the front desk staff. She was very attentive, explained everything and did not rush us at all. I was thoroughly impressed with Scenthound! I would highly recommend!

For just a trial run, I was so pleased! My sweet Border Collie, Luna Petunia, acts like she’s drowning at even the idea of a bath, but she came out SO clean, her nails looked great, and she was ready for more fetch as soon as she got home! (—rather than pouting in her spot on the couch per usual)

I'm always nervous going to a new groomer but they did a great job on my 80lb golden doodle! His white coat is super clean, he smells great, and the cut is exactly what I was expecting. I was able to get an appointment quickly and I know my dog was handled with care. I'm so glad James Island has a great groomer option now!

The staff was very accommodating and let me delay my appointment for the weather to settle down. They did a good job but Gravy was still very wet when I picked her up. I know she wasn’t supposed to be blown dry, but she could have been dried more with a towel. I will return as I felt they cared about her and did a great job on her nails.

I have an older dog who has very long fur and is a shedder. I was always nervous about groomers being too rough with my 13 year old dog. But at Scent Hound, he was treated beautifully, gently and the end result couldn't have been better. My dog looked beautiful and he was so happy with his experience. I strongly recommend trying Scent Hound for your dog.

Scenthound is INCREDIBLE! From customer service day off, to customer service through booking process and fitting you in at your convenience, to the actual job they do on our pup is outstanding. We have been customers for over a year after flip flopping to many other groomers in the area with no luck.They truly care for your animals and for making your life as easy as possible! Would 100% recommend as a no brainer! Please use their services, you will not be upset!

I took my dog Cami to get her first grooming service and they were very patient and kind to her. She is usually very nervous with new situations but did amazing and was so happy and excited after her first service. She looked and smelled fresh and clean when I picked her up. Membership definitely paid off.

We absolutely love Scenthound. They do a great job. My French bulldog is terrified of getting his nails trimmed and even our vet can’t trim all four of his paws in the same day because of his anxiety. The groomers at Scenthound manage to trim all of his nails without him getting worked up. I’m always really impressed and will continue going to them!

I have been looking for the perfect grooming place for my 2 dogs. I had both of my bernedoodles groomed today and they were so happy when I picked them up. Their cuts were better than I expected. They were groomed perfectly which in my opinion is hard to find. I have a very nervous dog that can’t be crated and they were amazing with him. Everyone that I met there was so sweet and caring. My boys will be looking forward to their next spa day.

Absolutely amazing! My dog Callie looks, feels, and smells CLEAN, not just sprayed down with scent like at her previous groomer. Her nails are the perfect length. And I did not realize when I originally booked her that you receive a “report card” from the groomer. So happy with Scenthound!

This was the first time using Scenthound for grooming. My dog was clean and nails ground down, teeth cleaned and her ears as well. I'm happy for them to be so caring about my pet. We'll be back next month for a another grooming.

Brought my three dogs in, all three were done in an hour. Smelled great, so clean, joined so I will be back every month. They even groom, which I have two doodles so will definitely be using that service.

Very good location with a focus on dog wellness. I know my dog Dexter is going to be taken care of when he is here. He can be an anxious dog but they treat him with such love and respect. The monthly care club is convenient and price effective. If you want your dog to be treated with respect and save money, come here!

Scenthound takes great care of my Doberman Bruce. Love that they handle everything from skin, coat, nails, teeth and glands! They even through in a complimentary facial scrub for our first visit to the James Island location. Used to visit the store in Mt. P but I am thankful that a James Island spot is now open!
