Took my dog to get groomed and at first I thought everything was fine but he kept shaking his head and I didn't think much of it. I then looked at his ears and saw that they had been cut by the razors. I called the store and spoke with the groomer on duty but she was new and passed me off to the manager who was not helpful at all. He told me there was nothing they could do since it had been a few days and that I should just take him to the vet. I then had to go spend another $130 on my dogs vet visit due to their lack of care and was not offered any sort of reimbursement or help. I get things happen but when you're spending a lot to have your dog groomed it is not ideal to then go and have to spend more because it was not done properly. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with their custom service and will not be returning.

The clerk at the store could not understand that I wanted to use my 5$ Care coupons and said that because the line was long I "had to pay full and deal with it later because I don't have time to fix it?". I did that as to not cause an issue for the rest of your patrons however I thought this was extremely unprofessional, lazy and rude. I have shopped many times at Petco using my rewards "at the register" and EVERYONE else could attach them at ALL the other stores I have shopped.

The employees here are just so good at helping with anything it feels surreal. I genuinely would drive miles to visit this store because of the wonderful atmosphere.

This company’s online ordering is a joke. Don’t even waste your time ordering anything even if it’s available and says that because the order will just get cancelled with no reason given. Do better. I’d rather walk on legos than come back in and spend another dollar in here

Adorable Pet's! Expensive, but the animals are super adorable, and I found everything I needed, but it's much cheaper at PetSmart I wouldn't recommend a ferret because they are very aggressive, but they are cute!

Drove over 50 miles to Petco to pickup 2 large pet food storage containers. Petco's web site stated that they price matched with Amazon, Chewy, etc., Which advertised a significantly lower price on the bins. At the West Ashley, SC store they insisted that Petco changed their policy and no longer price matched with the online retailers, they would only price match with their own online store prices. Long story a little shorter, I paid substantially more for the containers than I should have when Chewy and Amazon would have delivered them straight to my door for substantially less and free shipping. Buyers beware!! On a positive note, I do really like my storage containers. I still gave Petco a generous 3 stars for all the cute critters.

The employee with long hair is extremely unfriendly and has a bad ego. Even hanging up and muting people. I was a regular customer until this employee was hired and decided to get upset with me for reasons I’m unaware of. I had an early drop off and the doors were locked. I started knocking and she threw her finger up for me to wait. Then ignored me sitting at the computer. I was late for work because of her actions. After calling to make another appointment, she hung up on me when I mentioned my dogs name and picked up and muted me the next call. What an odd experience. I will say the other staff was friendly and did a great job on one of my dogs. The other, not so well and they even explained she wasn’t dried all the way and will shed. (Paid extra for the de-shed). It was if they didn’t even try to de shed her with the extra fees. I called next to have my other dog groomed and brought up how I was unhappy with the results of the last grooming and the manager told me twice it’s been over a week. So no, they wouldn’t do anything to do a de-shed without the extra fee. After saying okay, I’ll cancel my two dogs grooming appointments then, she said “good luck” and hung up.

Five staff hanging behind pallets of product on sales floor. All talking without any care for customers. When they finally heard my 2nd request for help, rather than one of them walk or take me to the shelf where product was located, they said, "...two over on right..."Went again to try and find the name brand that was sent to purchase.Noticed many other customers roaming store needed support. Only staff available was nice gentleman at counter.

This pet store is amazing and all of the associates are extremely helpful. I recently adopted a ball python and had a lot of questions and a lot of things I needed to get in order to adjust his heating pads as necessary and they had everything I needed and had the answers to my questions as well as helped me find the best prices. Angie was helping me, she is super awesome and I had to resist giving her a huge hug (whatever she's getting paid, she deserves more). I definitely recommend visiting this Petco if you're considering adopting a new little friend or need advice or the best bang for your buck.

You cannot book nail trims online, it says walk in, they will take you anytime the salon is open. Today was the 2nd time we walked in and we’re turned away. Not a great system.

I took an appointment to the groomer. I work very hard and it's very difficult for me to take hours off. As I arrived there, the lady told me that they don't groom pets under 6 months old. I said that it could have been stated somewhere, since I wasted all the morning for nothing. I asked if they could cut his nails at least, but with a very arrogant attitude, she flatly answered: "WE CAN'T GROOM HIM". I had the feeling that she just wasn't willing to help regardless of the issue. I can't figure out if it was because of my foreign accent or because Scottish Terriers are difficult dogs, but I perceived a lot of unnecessary hostility and I didn't appreciate the experience. They lost a good customer because in the future I will need to groom my dog once a month, but I definitely don't want to go to a place in which I pay and still I am treated so poorly.These people should be better trained in customer service, beyond being better organized.

Honestly. So disappointed. Every single time we come to buy fish we get belittled to the point where we just leave. I understand “helping” customers understand and set up their rank for success but they are way too aggressive. Usually it doesn’t bother us. Recently I wanted to set up a specific type of tank with specific fish. I asked for help in getting it set up and what I would need. The employee made it seem impossible and wouldn’t help until we asked 4 times. And they literally will not sell you fish unless you have everything THEY suggest. Not a way to upsale or help. Great way to lose money and customers that come a lot though.

It’s a standard pet store. They have what you need or they don’t - and you can order what they don’t online. Honestly, I’m mostly there for the pinkys and crickets, occasionally other items, but their team has been helpful and generally personable. Great if you just need some standard pet stuff.

Brandi was not very helpful or friendly. I still needed fish which I waited for 10 minutes by the fish tanks and no one ever came by. They should have a button to call the employees over there. I had to walk away from the register and get a different item, and she had thrown my bag of cat food on the floor very disrespectful and then was rushing me to pay after she sent my son back to the fish tank when she knew I was paying for the fish as well

I had a great experience here. I am looking to start keeping fish and I had a lot of questions. I was quickly helped by Finn who was very helpful, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. I greatly appreciate their assistance with learning about the different tanks and different fish. I look forward to my next visit here! :)

I only go here because it's close. If my dog didn't get Car sick, I would drive him to the better franchise in North Charleston. The customer service here is non-existant and they will be disrespectful to you behind your back if you catch it. 🙄 only kudos I will give is to the growing service. They try their best.

My roommate and I have always had a great experience with the retail side of things and chose to have our kitten vaccinated through Vetco. During the first visit we were advised that the cat needed a specific high priced item, and thinking we were doing the best thing for the cat bought it. Only to find in the following visits that it was totally unnecessary and also nonrefundable. When we brought up the situation we were simply told that they were sorry for the misinformation but there was nothing else they could do. We were completely taken advantage of and we’re very disappointed at the lack of moral especially when it came to advising new pet owners.

I have always had a very easy experience ordering online with Petco and love the fact that you get discounts when you order online! I have had issues with the product I order saying in stock and it actually wasn't, but it has always been easily fixed for me by the staff at the store! The staff at the Charleston, SC store on Savannah Hwy are wonderful and they should get a shout out for being so easy to work with and for always going above and beyond to be so helpful and fix any issues that I have had!!

Staff was friendly and helpful as always, and pick up was easy! Plus your Black Friday sale was amazing, and you have consistently better prices for the brands my dogs love than competitors. I love this Petco, its always clean too!
