I have gone here since I was a kid...I enjoyed it then and I enjoy it still. My kids LOVE to come here too and explore the grounds. Ms. Daniel is so patient and helpful...she is worth speaking with and learning from. Please take them by the Japanese Garden, they will love it! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Healthy plants. I come here every spring to get inspired and purchase plants. They are pricy and you get what you pay for!

I have tried for two days to find out pricing on two different items. Yesterday I was told someone would get back to me with the information. No one called. Tried calling again today, no one was available to give me the information again. I've worked in customer service for over 50 yrs, the customer who calls is a potential long term customer. With the prices going up and gas at a premium a wise shopper calls. Since I'm not from JI, I called. I don't call this stellar service.

Great selection of all sorts of plants, pots, fountains. Pricier than other places, but you are more likely to find what you want here. Also has gorgeous and unique arrangements of plants in pretty planters and baskets. Custom bows for the holidays, cute yard decorations.

Such a wonderful nursery with super knowledgeable staff. I was in town visiting family and wanted to leave them some hanging plants. Young lady helped me select a few things that would work and then worked with me to find the best decorative hanging baskets. They even loaded the car for me, a service I am not familiar with being from the northeast.

We love visiting, even when it gets us in trouble! Today's visit was to find some different herbs compared to what you can find anywhere and to find an orchid for Father's Day. We found both... And got some ideas for our next visit!

Good selection, decent prices. Very crowded but a certain red head at the invoice counter was the most obnoxious employee I’ve ever encountered. Dirty looks, bossy, etc. So much for hospitality at this place. Most other staff was great.

I’ve been a regular customer for the past few years and think most of the staff is helpful and friendly. However, upon visiting this week in search of garden pavers, I had a rather frustrating experience.I brought one up to the counter and had them charge me for the five I would be purchasing. Being six months pregnant, it would have been nice to have the staff offer to to help me pick up and load the pavers. But being more than capable, I carried on and did this myself.I paid, picked out my pavers, hauled the pavers to the far reaches of the lot where I was parked, loaded my car, and was buckled in when one of the employees came up to my window and demanded to see my receipt, thinking I was stealing. Further, the guy said he and another employee watched me haul my cart across the lot and not once did they offer to come help load. Had they offered to help and confirm that I’d paid from the beginning, this could have been a much different experience.Lost a customer in the neighborhood. Extremely frustrating.

I love this plant store and come here for all my plant needs. They have good quality and unique tropicals that are hard to find at other location or too expensive. You know you’re getting a plant that is well treated for and less likely to have pests or die when you bring it home. All of the employees are extremely knowledgeable as well. Not to mention how beautiful and photogenic it is.

My experience shopping at Hymes taught me how poor customer service and profound negative work ethic can turn a beautiful day out shopping into a an unforgettablely regretful waste of time. If the problem involved only a few bad apples I would consider this a common and fixable blemish and overlook the incident, however, because their store manager, Vincent, is the source of their negative influence I have come to the conclusion that, not only are the majority of staff members behave like disrespectful, gossiping high school bullies; the example by which these employees are taught to follow acts like an invisibly entitled, judgemental child by standing around checkout with five other staff members talking trash about my husband (who was also with me shopping) sits in the car waiting for me for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I'm sure the individuals involved know who they are. We will never return to this place of business and caution the public to shop here at your own risk. Grow up Hymes! I expected better from you.

This plant nursery is beautiful and extensive! My friends and I bought some great plants. The sansevieria trifasciata black dragon I purchased was really neglected. It was so wilted and damaged. Also the labels on these plant species are not good. It's hard to read and they also remove the labels when you purchase them so it's easy to forget what you purchased if you are unfamiliar. The care for these plants could be better especially for the sansevieria plants. Plants were are a bit pricey though so watch out. They have a lot of species here and so many plants available for sale. The workers were a bit off-putting. I tried to be nice but they were kinda rude :(

I bought 2 holly bushes a month ago, ( receipt in hand) . One is thriving, the other looking dead. I went back with that one hoping for an exchange , which would have been no problem at all the other nurseries. All I got was over 10 minutes of arguing and blaming me for lack of watering, which wasn’t the case as the other Holly is doing well. Yes the plants are nice, no better than other nurseries, but the customer service by the owner George is the worst. The competition is here and that $25.00 is a lesson on your poor behavior. 😡😡😡

We absolutely LOVE Hyam’s. The staff has more than a green thumb... they have tenure and love what they do. You can take a picture of an empty bed and they’ll help it come alive. Also, they make the most beautiful window baskets. Can’t go wrong for landscaping your whole yard or buying a plant for a friend!

Great plant selection but agree with everyone who pointed out the customer service is pretty bad and certain employees make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them by—for example—pointing out that a plant has mealybugs and asking for a discount (cashier very reluctantly offered 10% off but made it clear that this was massively inconvenient to her). Got the sense they were hoping someone would just buy the plant full price not noticing the pests. Be careful shopping here!Greenhouse workers were nice though!

Hyam's has a huge selection of plants for reasonable prices. I got a great gift got under ten dollars here, an air plant with a stone container (see photo).

HYAMS GARDEN IS THE BEST MOST COMPLETE GARDEN STORE I HAVE EVER SHOPPED IN AND THE CONTAINER GARDENS WERE A PERFECT GIFT TO A DEAR FRIEND. They have a great selection, but please be very careful when selecting a plant from Hyam’s. I purchased a Goji berry bush from here, which was badly infected with powdery mildew. While attempting to save the plant, the fungus spread to many of my other fruits and vegetables.

What a great place. It's a local garden center that carries the same as the big national companies and a lot more. The change of finding a rare plant you have been looking for years to find is almost 100%.

Very helpful and friendly staff. As someone who went to school for horticulture on the west coast and just moved to South Carolina, I have a lot to learn about this zone! Prices were higher than I expected, but the plants looked great so the also seemed warranted. The selection was decent too and while I didn't purchase any plants I did pick up some adorable little pots, soil, manure and bonsai mix for about 50$ and that was very agreeable. I'll definitely stop there again as I container exploring the area. Happy planting!

Love hate relationship with this nursery. I love that they carry interesting plants, but I hate the customer service. If you ask anyone in the greenhouse area about a plant, they act like you are bothering them and can be downright rude when answering. I had a lady once tell me, "read the signs" regarding the plants care. Wow. Cool place, they'll load your car with purchased plants, don't ask too many questions and you'll be fine.

I've shopped here for years trying to support a local business. The garden center has always been helpful and knowledgeable. The plants are healthy and a great selection. Unfortunately though, I give the cashiers a 1 star. They are the only reason I don't go there more often. I have such a great experience outside and then go inside to no smiles, no "thank you" EVER, not once. I find it rude and unappreciative. I'm made to feel like I'm an inconvenience trying to buy their plants and give them my money.

Incredible garden center and nursery with quality plants and knowledgeable staff. I've been using Hyams over the years and am always pleased with my purchases and impressed with their customer service. The staff is great and willing to help pull a vision together. I worked with Danielle this past week and she went above and beyond to ensure I got the right plants for my yard. You get what you pay for from the big box stores. Do yourself a favor and shop local.

This garden store is amazing. The plants are high quality and long lasting. Some of my Hyams geraniums are over three years old. A walk through the aisles of bright flowers and fountains is a joy. Hyams is my ultimate temptation. A mood lifter in any season. Highly recommended and locally owned.

An incredible local nursery with a selection of healthy quality plants for the home and garden. The staff is always a pleasure to work with too. When it comes to prices, you don't get a better value for your money when you consider the quality of plants and excellent customer service.
