Came here for the first time a couple weeks ago. They appear to have a newly revamped menu. We previously avoided this place because we just assumed it would be a kitschy tourist spot with mediocre overpriced food. Fortunately, we were pleasantly surprised and our assumptions were proven wrong.We ordered the loaded buffalo waffle fries, cheese steak, and burger with cider slaw. Every dish was exceptional, made to order, and made with high quality ingredients. I really loved the fresh blue cheese crumbles on the fries and was just expecting generic dressing.The service was good and there was plenty of outdoor seating. Indoor seating was extremely limited and I wish they would just tear out all of the trinkets and candies to make room for more seats.The ice cream sold on site was excellent and is probably the best in the area.This will definitely be one of our go to spots when looking for some unhealthy food. If they added some healthier options we would come back more often.

If you want something the that is different you need to try this place out. From the food to the old time candy you will not be disappointed. The staff is very friendly. Set up is a little different from most place you just have to pay attention to what door to enter when it is busy. You order your food inside and then pick it up outside. Overall must stop and sew place. Fun to see all the old candy from your childhood.

I visited this cute restaurant with a friend who lives in Chapin. The owners/staff were a so friendly. The menu was just the right size. The variety was good, ice cream and coffee options too. My food (chicken salad wrap & I chose onion rings as my side) was delicious! We will definitely return soon. Please patronize small local businesses!

I only stopped in for ice cream. Was traveling home from Columbia to Spartanburg and wanted some. Found this cute train themed historical place! Definitely a must stop destination for a bite, sweets, coffee, etc!!Kid-friendliness: Ice cream and candy! 😂

Lobster Roll is absolutely the best that I have ever had, including some well known places that have been recommended to us in Florida. Totally worth the trip to this unique special little place. Owner Jamie believes in quality products and customer service all the while offering a unique form of nostalgic entertainment. Also had an amazing Latte made with Bohnkers Bold made by Cathy who serves up the best specialty made coffees in the area. Do not miss this hidden jewel while you are in Chapin, you will not be disappointed. Something for everyone and the staff is extraordinary.

Top tier atmosphere, variety, and quality. We left the interstate to follow food signs pointing in this direction. On the way, we liked the looks of this place and impulsively pulled over. The inside thoroughly charmed us. We bought holiday popcorn, candy, lattes, and a sandwich on waffle bread. We will go out of our way to visit S&S Destination whenever we make the trek from Charleston to Asheville.

I am totally blown away by this place. The quality of food is superb. You can tell that the chicken is prepared to order and not out of a frozen bag. Everything including the waffle batter tastes homemade, and the scotch eggs are fantastic. This is a total foodie destination. Will be back many times!

First time in South Carolina and I came across this AMAZING jewel! 10/10 definitely would come again. Such good service and delicious food! Coffee is sooooo good and the candy! I finally took the opportunity to eat lunch with the folks at the Caboose. I assumed it was a small sandwich and chips place. I saw the Buffalo chicken sandwich at the top of the menu. It was an Excellent choice with the sloppy slaw and buffalo sauce. Much more filling than I expected.

That Cheesesteak tho! I didn't think it could be true, but yes its real ribeye steak. Words even pictures do it no justice. 10/10 would recommend.

We have wanted to try this place for months and finally got the chance today! First off it is even more adorable inside than it is outside, which is saying something. If you’re looking for somewhere to really get a taste of Chapin this is definitely it. We had some of their speciality ice cream flavors (which were hilariously named in addition to being delicious) and thoroughly enjoyed the wall of candy and other unique things (who doesn’t like artisan soap??). Also if you’re worried a small place like this would be overpriced you are mistaken—we got three big waffle cones and some candy and it was under $15 and you can’t even beat that at a chain place.

Had the lobster roll and onion rings.I am a foodie and decent cook. The lobster roll was outstanding. The onion rings needed to be cut thicker but were battered and fried well.I will definitely be frequenting again.Thak you for a great meal.

Fantastic Buffalo Chicken Sandwich in a waffle!!! Just the right amount of heat with a flavorful Cole slaw. My wife got the fried green tomato sandwich which was seasoned and cooked perfectly!Also had great ice cream!!!! Nana's banana pudding was our favorite!You won't be disappointed!!

Deb was super fantastic and her wait staff was phenomenal. Lemon cheesecake ice cream and the coffee was excellent. The pimento cheese waffle fries was good. The main attraction is the year-based candy bins. Such a cute little destination 😍 💕

It's a nice little shop for the atmosphere and experience. I've tried some of the food and it was ok. Had an all aboard burrito that was super greasy and bland. The lunch items I've tried have been similar. The prices are acceptable with decent portions provided. I really want to like this place, but I wish the food was a little more stimulating.

OMG. This spot is Amazing. Classic candy, nostalgic decor, great low acid coffee and the food is outstanding. Special shout out to the young lady behind the counter who said "I'll bring you the gravy so you can try it", after I asked for syrup for the waffle. I've was so wrong. Who needs syrup when the gravy is good enough to make you slap your knee with excitement. Seriously, if they could put it in a mason jar and ship it, I'd have them send it to me express! Well done S&S crew. I will definitely make this place my go to when I'm in the area.

Food was great the first few times we went aside from the thin waffle as others have pointed out that comes with the chicken and waffles. Quality has continued to decline on the last few visits as well as having my order switched with others twice. Last order of chicken and waffles just had waffle fries covered over the chicken instead of a waffle and the wrap was cut with foil around it leaving tiny pieces of foil in it. Not going back for a while.

I’ve been here twice so far. The first time we ate breakfast and the food was a small overly sweet portion of gravy over waffle fries. Decided to give it another try and it still let me down. This time my husband, two year old, and I stopped in for ice cream. My husband had just paid when I realized that they had toppings for their ice cream. I wish that the girls working would’ve mentioned them while the ice cream was being scooped. But regardless I asked if we could pay for the sprinkles in a separate transaction. They told me it only cost like 27 cents so I’d need to make another purchase to go along with the sprinkles charge. Geez. No thanks…. Also, my ice cream did not taste as described. It tasted like sunscreen. I kindly asked one of the girls where I could trash my entire un eaten two scoop cone and they showed me the trash. Zero questions or concern about what was wrong with it. Two stars because the place is cute.

DON’T GET THE CHICKEN!! Came here about a month or 2 ago and got the Chicken and Waffles. Chicken was inedible! Couldn't even bite into it it was rock solid, and the waffle had no flavor at all. I don’t understand the good reviews, this place is absolutely disgusting!

So cute! Great little place for an al fresco lunch. Very clean, wonderful service, and scrumptious food. Try the waffle bun for your sandwich! It's light, slightly savory, and crunchy. Definitely will be coming back to try other options on the menu.

Very cute candy and ice cream shop but the restaurant is overpriced and the food wasn't worth the wait.We waited over 30min for chicken and belguim waffles. The chicken was salty and dry. The waffles were soggy, flat and looked like waffle house waffles.Cute concept, but not very well executed.

What a cool little shop! We use S&S as a reward for my son at school. We love the variety of candies, the ice cream, and you have to try their chocolates! Not expense either! Highly recommend! Great staff too! Always friendly!
