I went for a better fitting harness because my dog is a bully breed and it's difficult to find one in chain stores that fit well. The one I got was absolutely perfect, and the owner was so helpful and nice! The harness has lasted nine months so far against a lot of wear and looks brand new (except for the dog hair!) I'll give them my business any day. Worth the drive!

We ❤️ modern companion! We first found them at the Soda City Market and started to go to the market just for them and their treats! Now they have an amazing store with even more! We love the designs of all of their bandanas and pet accessories and they always have the best treats! Our pups love them too! We are so thankful to have such a wonderful local pet boutique!

I have been a customer of Modern Companion since 2019 and their retail location that just opened last month did NOT disappoint! Maddie is incredibly talented, has fabulous taste in decor and has genius business ideas. She’s all the things a business owner should strive to be and her products are always lovely. I own MANY of them and even though the store is 1.5 hours away from me, I will happily make the drive to take my pups for a pup-cup (comes FREE with any purchase) and support this adorable boutique 😄

My wife and I stopped in when we were driving through to pick up gifts for my sister. We don’t have pets of our own, so naturally, we asked a lot of questions. The shop owner couldn’t have been more helpful in offering ideas for us. What really made us decide to buy is that all of the products are either made in-house or by other small businesses. As small business owners ourselves, that made our decision easy. The products are all high-quality and not mass-produced. You can’t get these products at just any store. We left with scarfs for all the dogs, which I’m sure my sister will love and the dogs will tolerate. My wife even bought a scarf for a bear that she knit as a baby gift.

Modern Companion is what dog mom dreams are made of! My first purchase from MC was at Soda City when I got the cutest Pet Dogs Shop Local Repeat shirt. I've since ordered from their online store for my sweet fur baby and ventured to their brick and mortar store which was beyond adorable! Love the unique products and especially love that I'm able to support a local, small business!

Lots of accessories, treats, food, toys, harnesses and some leashes. Great place to stop in and browse- never know what you’ll find in a local small business like this. Stumbled across this store during a quick vacation to SC after Christmas. We love supporting small businesses and this is one with many made in the USA items. Such a great store with a beautiful selection of toys, treats, handmade scarves, collars, leashes and much more. The owner is very knowledgeable and personable. I had a fantastic experience at modern companion, and, more importantly, so did my pups. This place is easily one of the best pet boutiques in the state of South Carolina. Their original bandanas speak for themselves and have been a staple for my dogs for at least a year. That modern companion makes its own products is one of the things that makes it stand out in the pet boutique market, but it’s certainly not the only unique quality about this business. The store itself is visually appealing, and offers pup cups to dog customers. Plenty of places give your dog treats, but this was an experience! The other products sold at MC have made my dogs’ lives more fulfilling, and I feel like that’s an intentional choice by them in choosing inventory. From enrichment toys, healthy training treats, and a wide selection of toys, I left the store knowing that I’d done my dogs a solid. I particularly am happy with with the Clemson and Carolina toys that I got for sister’s and my dogs, respectively. We’re a house divided in that sense, but certainly not in our dogs’ love for these toys, which are durable and so so cute. Finally, I’ll add that I love supporting a woman-owned business, especially since the owner is also in her twenties like me. This is the perfect place for anyone who treats their pets like family!

This boutique was very nice and the atmosphere for pets is amazing. The versatile toys and treats available is good for pups. Recently attended a Barking Lot Pet Pawty and the pup really enjoyed himself and got tired out.

I absolutely love this store! They have a little bit of everything and are very helpful in steering me in the right direction to get things for my grand puppies!!! My grand puppy loved her pup cup treat and they even had special natural treats for her birthday! Blair was very helpful in helping me get the correct size harness and collars for her and also recommended treats for my other grand puppy which is a strong chewer. I cannot say enough nice things about this shop! I have shopped there numerous times and Maddie always has new and different inventory each time! Highly recommend stopping in!

This is THE CUTEST store! I went in and Blair and her pup Ralphie were the best! I got a Kong ring and a dog mom cold cup and I can’t wait to bring Deacon home in March so we can bring him up there! Great store - I have been wanting to support them since they opened but I don’t have a pet. Yesterday was my “grand dog” Stella’s birthday so I stopped in and got her a flower for her collar and a really cute bandanna. It was so hard to pick from all the.cute designs! I wasn’t sure what size to get so I showed them a photo of Stella and they recommended the medium. It fit her great they have so much to choose from 😄
