I went into the store today with my 3 children and was very upset at the mess and the treatment I received. First off the place is a complete mess of boxes and merchandise EVERYWHERE you can hardly walk. We went into the toy area and my kids heard a scoff of the man behind the counter staring at us as we are shopping mind you the toys are shoved everywhere and misplaced so its honestly like digging in a discount bargain shop. After finishing my shopping I placed a tin I decided not to purchase where a stack of other tins where. The man decides to leave the counter and chase me down and rudely says " Don't leave your mess in my store clean it up." and gives me the tin back. I was so confused and flabbergasted I went and placed the tin where I "found it". My kids were already sketched out by this man as we entered and actually told me they felt he kept watching us. I proceeding to take everything in my cart back where I found it and as I walked out told the man maybe he should look at the state of "HIS STORE" I mean to demand a level of order to consumers that you CLEARLY can't maintain yourself. I put the tin in the area i found it but honestly who the heck knows where it belongs. All this said I will no longer be shopping there in future.

The African male manager and African American female cashier in my opinion has no care for customer service . I needed to return somethings. I Was forced to give up my original receipt. He kicked me out of the store for good just because he didn’t like me. Threatened the law on me for trust passing if I returned. I also feel like he did this because of the color of my skin.He was beyond rude to me . Poor attitude and customer service. I was accused of lying. Which was false. He cussed at me as I was walking out. I felt humiliated in front of other customers and my family. I filed a complaint to corporate about this store. I would recommend not supporting this store.

This place is a hot mess. It is a hazard. The fire marshal needs to make a surprise inspection. There is never stock on the shelves because it it is all in boxes or on carts. Most of the isles you can’t walk down much less push a cart down. I was in there one day and there was large bags of dog food stacked on a cart 3 wide and taller than the shelves. It looked like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Too bad I can’t give negative stars. I’ve asked if they can’t keep employees and was told they either quit or the manager fires them. That tells me the problem is the manager trying to be a BOSS and not a leader. From the street the outside of the building is very nice, it fits well into the lake/ beach look, but pull into the parking lot and it all ends there. Corporate needs to take over and clean house both the store and the manager whom I have never seen at this location.

This place is horrible. Never had enough cashiers. Never had a cashier at the register when you're ready to go. There's always boxes in the walkways. They always have empty slots and not enough stock. (Probably because majority of it is in boxes)Staff seems nice though but they need to step up and get stuff done

Boxes all over the floor and everywhere else you could think of! No one would help at all with finding the items I was looking for. Even when ask frist couple of responses was as if employee did not hear me! 🙉 Even at checkout employee was very rude! Long long time before returning here!!!!

Its about time for them to just shut it down. It's so cramped you hardly have any room to move, it just feels dirty walking in and the staff have NO people skills. They should definitely give some hospitality classes to their employees.

Staff follows you around complaining under their breath (but loud enough to be heard) about the customer making a mess of the shelves. The shelves are always a mess so I guess they expect the customer to clean up before they look. Has happened twice and its very insulting to be harassed. Lazy and rude management who goes around singing inappropriate songs at a place of business.

The staff is so awesome and kind. Especially Alicia, I believe that is her name. I hope so because on two separate occasions she has gone above and beyond for me while I was looking for certain items in the store. She was the best.

This dollar store is run by some of the friendliest,most professional employees I have ever had the pleasure of be served by,awesome people,I will continue to use the dollar store over big chain discount stores with the same or sometimes better prices solely on the fact the employees at this dollar store as well as all the others in the Columbia S.C. Area make me feel like I’m buying from family,bless them.

Very nice store to go to when you don’t feel up to Walmart. A few things can be a bit pricey here. I overall like this store quite a bit!

I’ve never been in a dirtier, more disorganized, cluttered store in my life. Obviously, upper level management has never visited this store, and it’s a good bet the health department, fire department or BBB has never been inside, either. The floors are covered in merchandise, the shelves are in disarray, it’s just a mess. I feel like I need a shower after going in. I’m headed to the store in Prosperity from now on.

Really cluttered and it's hard to find what you're looking for. The staff seemed friendly but I don't think it's worth it working your way around the maze of a store if you're looking for something specific. However if you're just shopping around it wouldn't be so overwhelming.

I am absolutely amazed at how clean the store is! I almost forgot I was in a Dollar General when I realized all around me, were perfectly stocked shelves!! Good job guys

Always good to see Dollar General, no matter where I am. Even though it's a corporate business, it was kinda nice to walk in and see some of the locals hanging out and chatting, just as they do in my hometown. The clerk was especially polite. The store was a little cluttered and disorganized, but Dollar General certainly isn't Belk. This store could light the parking lot a little better.

The store was well organized for this trip and the employees are nice. However they also have times when unloading trucks that the store can be quite a jumble, but that was not the case today.

I love this store and the people that work there but it’s always a mess and hard to find anything... I mean the clothes are almost impossible to maneuver through. A buggy definitely won’t fit through there

This is the worst store ever. What I needed was down 2 different isles. I couldn't get down them ALL of the isles were blocked by stock that needed to be put up.TheThe two employees were standing atcheckout talking about another employee who they said never doesI had just gotten off work and they are near my job.Well I had to go to Wal-Mart

This store is ridiculous. It is a fire hazard. There is always so much clutter and junk everywhere . Worst Dollar General ever. You have to step over stuff. It is extremely disorganized,cluttered, dirty, and junky. The owner should be ashamed.

Very RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Some black woman behind tge register needs to understand what CUSTOMER SERVICE Is!!! She was rude with my mother today and the manager tried to use the virus as an excuse for the way she talked to my mother. But fails as a manager cause the black woman did me the same way when she first started working there. How would they feel if someone talked to their mother the same. These kids have no respect for their elders. Its a shame.

This store is nothing but trash. There is merchandise all over floors,boxes scattered all over. In some cases you cannot get up or down isles due to merchandise from floor to almost to the roof line. It is not possible for one person to put up stock, clean store and work with customers at the registers. Do not send District Manager to check out the store. It does no good . A manager further down the line needs to see these stores. IT IS NOT THE EMPLOYEES. IT COMES FROM HIGHER UP. I WOULD BE A SAME TO TELL ANYONE THAT I OWNED STOCK IN THE DOLLAR GENERAL. It is so sad

Great place with awesome prices!!! Bought a whole outfit for 8$. Regular the jacket and pants were 12.99/each rang up 4$ each. Little messy...but worth it!!!

The Dollar General in Chapin is very conviently located right on Chapin Road where you just turn right in go in and shop for the items you need or want. There is usually many items to choose from according to the traffic flow in and out in different seasons. It is very cleanly kept and nice environment. A little tight fitting in some areas with shelving being close together, however, nothing that you can't manage through. Good prices on many items as well.

Didn't have what I was looking for. Store is always a mess, water was all over the floor due to a leaky roof. An employee told me that no one seems to listen and it appears that management would rather get rid of the material that is ruined then to actually fix the roof problem. And this isn't old building either

This store is messy. The manager is afraid to hire competent employees because they don’t want to train them. This is a horrible excuse of a store. Don’t go here. People are paid to leave good reviews.

Great service finding merchandise but aisles were hard to maneuver and I understand because of a restocking day. Personnel were outstanding and helpful
