Great Thrift store with super funds and buys. Well organized Thrift Store and very affordable overall. Looking for antique furnishings and collectible items, this is a great place. Throw pillows and Pullow Cases and Shams, Sheets, Sheer Sets, and Bedding are well priced for those on a budget. These items are in grand shape for re-use. I wanted to write this review because I was taken aback by some of the other reviews. I am one of the few volunteers that help to merchandise, sort and price the donations at PAL thrift. We are a small group of volunteers and would love more if anyone is interested; even just one day a week will help. Currently, we only have three staff members. We keep staff limited to reduce overhead so that all the monies can keep PAL rescue operating to save animals. Over 80% of the store is priced under $20 with probably half of that under $10 so I am perplexed as to why people would say we are overpriced. We have a Boutique area in the very front where we have better items and we take the time to research the item. If it was priced online for $100, we price it around $45. Our objective is to get as much from the donated item as we can for the animals. I know that some of the complainers are those that buy items and then sell them for their own profit. We don't discourage that but, to reiterate, our mission is make as much money as we can to operate the rescue. We would love to see you at the store and to support us but also we would love your help as volunteers. :)

After being a long time shopper,my Mom and I had a pretty bad experience here last December. After talking to a few of the wonderful volunteers there, I was encouraged to go back and was so happy to see one of my favorite thrift stores was back to how it used to be. I also love the addition.

Nice Thrift Store! Always clean store & merchandise, well organized. Reasonable prices generally. Some items have been therefor long periods of time - prices should be lowered or passed on.1/31/22: This was one of my favorite Thrift Stores but I believe they are pricing themselves Out of Business. They started a Boutique section a little while ago & it just keeps growing and so do the prices. All items are DONATED Free of Charge. I realize they have overhead to pay, but the majority of clerks are volunteers (at least they used to be). The New Manager has alienated most of the previous volunteers with accusations, criticisms, etc. A lot if these people were from Sun City that I came to know over the years at the store & through the community. Believe me Sun City talks & it doesn't help your clientele.Also, I worked for over 40 years & never did my employer PAY for my lunch except for special occasions. I understand someone was there & witnessed the Manager coming in & asking the cashier for money out of the register for her lunch. (Buy your own lunch - you are a paid employee).Very discouraged with PAL!

Very bad business practices. I took an item with a tag to the register and they were ringing me up and several minutes later the man who appears to be in charge came halfway up to the front of the store and shouted that I could not buy the item because someone else they knew had asked earlier what the price was. When I saw the item in the newly opened back room, no one was around waiting for a price and it was clearly tagged for sale. So I was not allowed to buy it, and the price was deducted from the sales receipt even though it had already been rung up for me! I was not only mad but I was embarrassed that he would shout at me in front of all the other customers. As if I had done something wrong! Shoppers beware. If a buddy of theirs wants something in your cart you may not be allowed to purchase it.It's unfortunate that their new business practices (new rude staff, new higher prices) are driving customers away (just read the recent reviews) and therefore making less money for PAL. I will continue supporting PAL but will not visit this thrift store again.

My Mom and I used to love shopping here but we stopped. The prices are so outrageous it is unbelievable! Some items are listed far more than antique stores. It is crazy.The ladies there used to be so nice, but a few of the new people were very unkind to my Mom and I do not appreciate that. My Mom was making small talk and they seemed highly annoyed. She asked them a few questions regarding things and they were totally dismissive. I almost said something, but out of respect to my Mom, I kept my mouth shut. Remember to be kind. My Mom's brother had died the day before and it was all I could do to get her out of the house to get her mind off of things. (Still, the rest of the older volunteers were lovely. Thank you ladies for that)!That being said, I was a buyer in the Buckhead section of Atlanta (a very affluent area), and your prices on a few items are more used than what I sold them for new. Ps: Ebay is not an accurate way to gage pricing unless you have seen several items SOLD for that price. The listings on Ebay are seldom created by professionals, and several of your items are misrepresented.The pricing is out of control and the charm of such a wonderful place has totally dwindled. Such a disappointment! Please remember that you are a thrift store, not a high end retail store. We miss our old PALS!

To be clear, I love the idea of supporting PAL. I used to very much enjoy the thrift store. The folks that work there are usually very friendly. That being said, I feel like someone needs to remind you that you are a THRIFT STORE.The recent increase in “eBay list prices” is just gross. This is especially true when you consider the items you share “eBay prices” on are not even remotely accurately priced, or based on your own eBay listing! There have been recent items portrayed as “$300 +” on eBay that are 1/3 of the portrayed price in the “boutique” section. “Boutique” clothing from lower end stores marked up considerably because they have tags, and associates who have seen a higher end brand and said “That should have been BOUTIQUE priced”, and will not sell the product for the marked price. WHAT?!Now, again, I do not hold this against the associates here as they seem to be doing what they have been instructed to do by “her”. Who is “her”? Just curious because have heard SEVERAL associates and volunteers complaining and commenting on “her” and how “she” over prices items! It is pretty sad that greed has taken precedent over the charitable organization you are raising money for. Again, jeans marked DOUBLE the price depending what side of the store you buy from? $15 and $25 “framed art” that probably cost less brand new in TJ Max? There was a set of small duck napkin rings marked $5 EACH (8 total), that “sell on eBay” for less than $10 for the whole set! BROKEN housewares with “eBay” comp prices?The items you sell were DONATED. You are not an outlet store, and you should not be an “eBay” store. I truly hope the folks who run the Palmetto Animal League read this post and understand that “she” (whoever that is) is harming your reputation as a reputable organization. The dishonest price gouging practices do not represent the good you do for our community, and I hope you stop it.

This is a delightful store with interesting variety of household items and clothing. The prices are very reasonable. The employees are friendly. Monies received go to assist the local animal shelter. The store also has 2 cats that call the store home. We meet “Henry”. He was a black and white large cat who greeted us.Overall, it is a fun store, especially if you like animals. I recommend it.

We stopped in your store after reading about the Palmetto Animal League. What a gem!! You guys do a great job merchandising and showing the value of some of the beautiful treasures that are being donated for such a good cause. Thank you so much for helping to save the lives of some sadly neglected/abandoned animals. I was brought to tears reading the rescue stories on your website.As sad as some of those stories are, because of the generosity of your time (and the kind people who donate their treasures), these animals may get a 2nd chance. When I eventually move there, count me in on helping!

Stopped in a couple weeks ago! I noticed their truck outside with furniture still on it. The manager told me to pick out a sofa (I told her I needed one) & she'd give me a "deal" on it. Turns out, they needed room inside, to unload the truck! Well, I got the bargain of the century along with an offer on delivery that I just couldn't pass up! I had no intentions on going there that day but boy am I ever glad I did! Oh, can't forget the bag of candles & nic-nacs I purchased!I Love this place, not to forget that their proceeds go to The Palmetto Animal League! Clerk decided to reprice an item at checkout ignoring the posted signs because she thought the item was worth more. This is illegal and very unfair. Prices are much higher then most in the area. Very disappointed in the changes

Great place and an absolutely great cause. For those that don't know they run this thrift store in order to generate money for the animals in their shelter. Love that idea. We will be back when we are back in town, they always have nice things.
