I never been to SC. I went to an animal shelter in NY, I got my 6-month old orange tabby kitten in 2016. My kitten was sent from the Marlboro county humane society in an overnight truck with 10 other cats. I’m grateful that shelters choose the no-kill policy and send the animals where there is a possible demand/home for them.My cat’s name is Flynn , I haven’t changed his name from the shelter. He is 6 years old now and a healthy ball of energy.I also support this place through my smile.amazon.com shopping.

I would just like to say thanks for an outstanding job done by the Marlboro County humane society at the animal awareness event this week. My two orphan puppies benefited a great deal from this. Thank you volunteers from all around for making this a great event. A special thanks to Kathy Sloan who keeps some of us aware of the great things being done at the humane society. Peanut and Cashew says thank you.

This place is so great, and the people who work there are amazing! My last trip there was to pick up a voucher to get my dog neutered, which was only $75 since he's a male. That price is incredible since every vets office I called charged $180 to get him neutered. The staff was super helpful and friendly. They had cute pictures of animals all over their walls! The only bummer is they are only open on certain days for only a few hours but that's understandable if most people are volunteering their time.

I filled out an application about a dog. They never got back to me. I called like five times I was gonna drive all the way there Luckily I turned around and thought better of it. I was very interested in a dog and they never got back to me never answered the phone never emailed me.

This animal shelter is completely underfunded, but the staff manages to provide excellent care for the animals they have. This rural shelter is a no kill shelter. If Marlboro County can find a way to be "no kill," there is no excuse for other wealthier counties. This shelter finds home for animals up and down the entire east coast. The manager is amazing. She has created a network of rescues all the way up to Maine. Most of the animals at this shelter have a rough start to their lives, but the manager does all in her power to make sure they have a great life once they leave. This shelter deserves the respect and admiration of the community.

This place is a God send for animals. It's tiny and could definitely benefit from a larger facility. But the love given to each animal. The care that is provided is amazing...

The animals get so much love and care here, but they are in need of supplies for the animals and volunteers to help with the care. Of course money to pay the vets to care for these beautiful animals. They try to give every animal the best care possible.

AMAZING people doing so much with limited resources in a community that is limited in it's knowledge of proper care and treatment of animals. The staff puts in blood, profuse amounts of sweat and tears to ensure the best life for all the animals that come into their facility. They're not there to take on the consequences of people's stupid choices and yet they do. They handle the worst humanity has to offer and finds a way to create a positive outcome whether it's running playgroups for dogs many give up on, working with animals suffering with diseases that are curable but not easy, or finding homes for the cats and dogs so they don't live out the remainder of their lives in a cage. It's hard, heart crushing work and they show up for it daily for not nearly enough compensation. This isn't just a service for the animals but for their community and it's better health. If you get the opportunity to work with the staff at this facility you have brushed elbows with greatness.

Not too happy Once again just can’t get help around here!. This is a shame I’ve called & called about this cat that is very sick & just had a set of kittens & I just can’t AFFORD a vet bill right now I just put out $16.00 on my baby girl Maggie & I still lost her too that cancer she had ... so I need some help & I want her fixed if she is going to remain at my house

Haven't once seen or talked to anyone but a rude volunteer. Facility smells awful and the outside play area pools were both bone dry. They will not rescue or pick up a animal in dire need of medical care. I will no longer be donating because I can't see where the animals are actually benefitted by my dollars. I'm extremely disappointed and disgusted.

I called for a month straight. No one returned our call. No one was there every time we went. The 2 pools in the play area bone dry. The volunteer was rude and unkind. I am a Veterinary Technician and I am deeply Disturbed and disappointed to see things ran this way.
