Several days before Christmas I wanted to help a neighbor replace some gas shocks for his boat rear seat. I had been looking on line and had a good idea on pricing, but I always like to give the local shop an opportunity. Not only was I impressed with their pricing policy, I was amazed at their helpfulness. Even though John had only worked there for a short time, he seemed to know a lot about their entire inventory. Not only did I buy exactly what I needed, I was reminded of the importance of human interaction. Buying something from someone you instantly admire, like, and respect is more important than saving a couple dollars on Amazon. I will definitely be visiting this location for my future boating needs.

I ordered a dock box and on the first order, I was told that since someone else had ordered the same item and that box shows in inventory, my box did not get ordered. Manager cancelled the first order and we started over. The next week, the exact same thing happened. two weeks- no box. Manager cancelled order and I will order from another company. The manager at the store was nice and apologetic, but the company's ordering systems SUCK. I will never place another order with West Marine.

I had an excellent experience at this West Marine! I’ve visited several times over the past month and received nothing but the best customer service from Joshua. He is very knowledgeable and helped me out with any questions I had. I highly recommend stopping in for any of your marine needs and I’m confident Joshua will help you in any way he can.

The alternator in my boat stopped working and I could not find anyone who could figure out what it was so I could buy a new one. Carter, the store employee, was able to do it. He advised me on how to get one, but ultimately, it was going to take too long to order, so he recommended Clem's Alternators and Starters in Hartwell, GA, where I took it and had it rebuilt the next day. Saved my annual vacation! I highly recommend West Marine in Anderson, SC! Great service!

Not sure why all the low reviews but I have had great experience with West Marine for the past 5 years. Only problem I have is I can't leave the store without spending $300. Keep up the good work. Go Tigers!

Shelves empty, customer service has gone down the tubes since Paula and Art left. Quit hiring college kids that are clueless and get real boaters in this store.... better yet, put a store in Seneca where both lakes are. From now on, I'll buy my boating supplies by the coast or at the local marinas. At least they stock up and have knowledgeable people on staff. If I could rate this store a negative 5 stars, I would. Used to be a great place and I've spent tens of thousands here over the years..... no more.

Everytime I call this store location they never pick up the phone. It is irritating as hell especially when it's an over 20 minute drive just to find out if they have a part in stock. I even went the extra step to make sure they were open by 1 searching it and 2 listening to their automated voice machine telling store hours.

Joshua from the West Marine in Anderson South Carolina was very helpful in finding the proper lake map chip for my depth finder. The new Garmen had all of my salt water spots but I did not have the lake maps. He researched several sources and found the best one for me. In addition he had it shipped to our residence so as to avoid the long trip to the store. Thanks again Josh.Scott Pitser McCormick SC
