So glad I found this pet store!!!Excellent customer service! I immediately felt welcome and "at home" in this wonderful little store from the moment I walked through the front door!The owner (Heath) is very kind and beyond helpful! He definitely went out of his way to make sure we had everything for our guinea pig that we purchased from him! He ordered what was needed, if it wasn't already in stock. The store is clean and well taken care of.And as another reviewer stated, we also received a few free samples of treats and/or food for our other dogs and cats at home! :)My family and I will definitely be shopping here more often!

I love the Pet Tavern. Excellent customer service and the Owner is AWESOME! You always feel welcomed as soon as you walk in the door. Has a well set up and clean facility. He has all your needs for fish, birds, reptiles, small animals and any other supplies you may need. I would most defiantly recommend The Pet Tavern to anyone who is looking for a a pet place to shop at.

I hate to even give the rating I did, but I’ll explain my reasoning. First starting with food and products for animals! Those are all great, five star worthy. However I purchased an animal through the pet tavern for the first time two months ago and I regret it. The animal was ordered through the breeder. While all in store animals I’ve ever seen (customer of 3 years) have seemed nothing short of good health, mine was sold to me in bad health. The past month and a half he’s been assisted in feedings and rapidly lost weight. He’s been to the vet numerous times and he will be returning on Monday for the last time because I have to get him euthanized. It’s extremely likely he has crypto and “passed” the first test. I have 7 other healthy reptiles at home and I sincerely hope they are safe...please look into changing breeders or something. I don’t want anyone else experiencing this...

The store is clean and the tanks and cages look well maintained. There is not much to be found here. The only thing I found online was their Facebook page. It shows a very full of variety of exotic animals and plenty of fish. This was not the case at the store. While as I said above it was clean and maintained it had little selection for fish or water pets. It had only one mammal, while adorable, it was no selection. The snakes are all in large Tupperware totes. If you are going to sell snakes you should at least give them a decent sized tank to live in until they find a owner. I was hoping for a decent exotic pet store with great prices and a variety of animals. I am sure the owners are working on expanding it and the animals look taken care of butin the short term this will not be our new choice for supplies and pets. If it lasts we may try it out again next year.

What a gem this locally owned business is for Anderson & surrounding areas! The owner, Heath is super nice and will go out of his way to help. If he doesn't have what you want, he will order it & offer to keep in store for you (in the future). They are a Blue Buffalo certified dealer & as such, offer special discounts and 'perks'. I wanted to try a 'teeth cleaning' treat but was reluctant to buy a whole 24 piece bag as I wasn't sure she would like / chew on it. He opened the bag & gave me 2 to take home for her to try! (what a sweet gesture, she did like it) I have been getting my dog food from PetSmart for years (have nothing against them) but believe in supporting small business so this is my new 'go to' for food & treats for my sweet Lily. This is a specialty pet store, but great and it's growing. It's good for exotic pet supplies and aquariums. We get our Blue Buffalo dog food here. It doesn't look like much, but it's growing and you can tell the owner cares about the animals

I love this place. But next time make sure you close at the times you post. Because I needed a mouse and I got there at 12pm and you close at 1pm. One hour is not going to hurt you. But it’s fine, found out you over price your mice anyway and get there form someone who only charges $1. Have a good one.

Unimpressive, very small, hole in the wall "pet store" attached to a flooring company with a limited selection of saltwater fish and and aquarium supplies. All of the saltwater tanks needed extreme TLC. Owner said he'd be able to order whatever I needed and have it in the store in about 3 days. IMHO, save yourself the drive...you'd be better off ordering what you needed yourself.

Terrible! I was wanting to purchase a bird and the man treated me as if I was an inconvenience to have in the store !(and it was empty!!!) Wouldn’t allow interaction with the birds and played on his phone the whole time I was there !?! Cages are to small for some of the birds and unclean for others !Worst experience ever ! No wonder the birds are nippy ! If you ignore your birds the way you ignore your customers!

Really young fish so you can watch them grow. They had a bird out and the lady who was working noticed my daughter didn't like it and she put it up. Didn't have to be asked, just noticed and did it. I thought that was cool.
