I walked to the counter to find this guy just playing on his phone. I stood there for a few minutes (just a few feet away) and he never acknowledged my presence. While I was still there, he got up from his stool and just walked away, again never asking if I needed help or assistance. I was the only one at the counter this whole time so it wasn't like they were busy. Your store lost a sale that day and I will not be returning due to such poor customer service.

Ordered a Sitka coat for a hunt online and was told it was ready for pickup. Drove 1.5 hours to get it and was told they couldn’t find it. So they gave me the option to come back tomorrow when the manager was there or wait a few days until my money was put back on my card. This was my last time shopping here. Don’t recommend!

Called the Columbia South Carolina store and the Anderson South Carolina store trying to check stock. I was on hold for over 10 minutes at both places and ended up being disconnected never got to talk to anyone. I guess they're so busy they don't need my business. And this is a problem with all the big box Stores. The mom and pop shops want your business and will give you customer service.

Don't waste your time. Was going to buy some stuff for trout fishing. Found what I wanted, went to the cash register and some kid that works there just looked at me like I was stupid. Never offered to ring my stuff up or anything. So I just put it back and left.

Would highly recommend! I’ve bought my first two guns here, and the guys here have been extremely helpful! As a new gun owner I was nervous and pretty dumb, but they took the time to answer all of my questions and never pushed a sale. They even fixed my fiancé’s gun! I put the 3 year service plan on both my beretta and my BRO Fallout15 AR because it’s a pretty solid deal for the price. Can’t thank them enough and will continue coming here for my guns, ammo, and parts.

I visited the Anderson, SC store on October 29th as a first-time shopper. I was looking for Nomad cold weather clothing in my size and had found online that this store had what I needed in stock. After work, I drove the 60 miles to the store to buy the jacket and pants. Upon arrival, I could not find either on the shelves/display. I asked for help and was told it may be in the stockroom awaiting unpacking. I went outside for better phone service and checked online again to verify that the items were in stock. The website confirmed that they were in stock and that I could pickup the next day if I made the online purchase. Not wanting to make the 120 mile round trip again the next day, I re-entered the store and asked a couple of associates at the checkout if they could help me with getting the items that day. Neither seemed particularly concerned, with one saying that “they had already had over 600 transactions today” and acting as if my requests were a bother that close to closing time. I was very aggravated and proceeded back to clothing to ask again for help. Pam listened to my issue and went to the stockroom to see what she could find; I told her about the incident at the checkout counter. She returned to say that someone in the stockroom would try to find the items within the most recent shipments, but it might take 30 minutes. I continued shopping while I waited and was approached by a nice young man, Mason, who asked if I was the person looking for the Nomad gear. I explained the situation completely, along with the incident upfront. He said he was off the clock, but would go to the stockroom and assist in the search. About 20 minutes later he returned with the pants and said they were still searching for the jacket. A short while later he returned with the jacket, along with one of the managers, Richard. I thanked them for all their help and credit Mason for salvaging my first in-store shopping experience at SW. Mason went above and beyond, and for that very reason I will now consider SW for my future sporting goods purchases. If he had not sought me out in the store to assist me in this situation, I probably would not have ever again crossed the threshold of a SW. Thanks also to Pam and Richard. Customer service is paramount to the success of a retail operation and Mason proved that he is dedicated to this principle and actually cares. Thanks again.

Their Kershaw & ZT knives (some others) are way overpriced. Grady’s (a mile down the road) has the Green Link food the standard price of $99. I know they price match, but why bother when I don’t have to haggle other places.

Update, still the worst place to get ammo. Prices are at least $5 more a box on your staples, like hollow points. Even most target is $3 more a box at least. Same way with academy now. The only place to get cheap ammo is PSA.The absolute worst place to try to find ammunition right now. I have waited from 6:00 a.m. till they open a few days this week and they've had nothing. 6 days in a row with absolutely no new ammunition stock. All they have are expensive odd caliber rifle rounds. No shotgun, no pistol, nothing.I am no scalper and I understand you want to keep them from buying all you have. My point is that I have to get in line and wait so I can get there early before them. I came in again yesterday around lunch and and associate who was selling guns was talking to someone and said all ammo was put out yesterday, the day before. So I missed out on a chance to get what I need. All because damn scalpers buy it to sell for 2-3x what they pay. Im not even in need of rifle rounds or 9mm. I just want some boxes of .38/357.

Was a little shocked being first time in the actual store... I've always ordered online from them. Big store, not a whole lot of hard bait options. Soft plastic HUGE selection! Great clothing and shoe section.

I’ve been here a couple times and every time I’m here I can’t get help never been in a place that was rain so poorly. I feel I’m the only one at the store and looking around for help about a product and I have left and went to Grady’s Great Outdoors. Don’t bother trying to go to Sportsman warehouse go to Grady’s!!!

Needless to say, that I prefer to shop here over Bass Pro Shops any day! I live in Georgia and I'm willing to drive the hour and a half for all of my outdoor needs. The staff has always been extremely friendly and very helpful.

I had the worst experience there today that I have had. It makes me want to shop other stores.Make this the last place on your list.I have shopped there many times, and bought some expensive stuff, but on my last trip some woman up front who seems to hate her job really took an attitude with me.Poor customer service ruins it for everybody. Not a good experience!

Great folks, always attentive and helpful, went to Academy to buy a firearm 2 times and both times the guy behind the counter chatted with a female employee and completely ignored me and 2 other potential buyers, so I left and went to Sportsman's and they were great, and actually gave me a better pricing on the same firearm I was interested in. Recommend Sportsman's !!!!!

Clean store and parking lot - Decent tackle selection - I found and purchased about 70% of the items on my list at this location. I'd give 5 stars - if staff members were more helpful/willing to assist, and if the store was fully stocked.

Not very big. Not much stock. Prices a little high. Not my first choice for sporting goods store. I was not impressed. This review revised now a year later. Moving from 3 stars to 4. They have evolved. I am glad to see it.

I went in to this place for the first time looking for a coyote decoy. I have been in their Columbia location many times and was expecting similar service and experience at this location. Although they weren't busy when I was in there, and several employees were walking around talking to each other, no one greeted me or offered to help me find what I was looking for. They have signage over the different parts of the store so I went to the Hunting section and combed the aisles for an electronic coyote decoy, which I never did find. So I left. I walked past all the same employees I passed coming in who were still standing around yapping, and again no one spoke to me or otherwise acknowledged I was there. I left and went to Academy Sports and found what I was looking for with the help of a very nice young man who got someone else to man the gun counter so he could show me the decoys they had and recommend which one would work best for my husband's electronic caller and setup. Came away with a few other items too and wound up spending a couple hundred bucks in there. It's amazing the impression indifferent employees make on you as a potential customer, and equally amazing the difference an attentive employee makes in closing the deal! The Sportsman's Warehouse in Columbia has always been great, and I've never had any issues there. I will give this one a miss from now on though. Attractive, clean, and well-organized store but customer service is much better elsewhere.

The people treated me like I was going to still something. I go in there after work so yes I'm dirty. But after 3 trips in one week each over $250 spent you would think I could walk around and see all the items that I might want. But no I get fallowed the whole time. It's not right to have people look down at you because you have dirty clothes. I recommend you shop there without your family. They don't need that experience

Great variety of outdoor gear. Much rather buy here than some of the other large outdoor stores. They also take care of Veterans. Good selection of Traeger wood pellets, and the best prices I've seen anywhere on them.
