This is a fabulous team of pet caregivers and groomers. We use doggie daycare 4 days a week and boarding at least 3 weeks per year, not to mention baths every two weeks due to shedding. Powderhouse has been our reliable, go-to team since 1987. We very much appreciate they have always worked with our dogs mildly challenging personalities. Thank you all! We give our unqualified recommendations to Powderhouse Pet a resort!

We were pcsing and I needed to get my dog n fast prior toArrival on the island and this place took care of us! Ammo looks fresh and everything they did (full service) was very reasonable. All staff was friendly and professional as well! Thank you powder house 🌺🏝

Excellent service for your furry friends, they will enjoy the stay. Our dog is always excited to go.The price is high but I have confidence they look after my pup when he goes.Make sure you have your veterinarian email all records ahead of time (I suggest a couple of days). They do require a 6 month kennel cough vaccine. So just make sure they are up to date and that proof is providedI say give it a go, the staff is super friendly and will do their best to accommodate your doggos.We always enjoy getting the pet report card at the end of his stay.

This place kept my baby Gracie for a week long trip, and she had a great time! They kept me up to date with her care, groomed her and trimmed her nails, and she came home a very happy pup 😊 they even went the extra mile and gave me a picture of her from her stay and notes from the staff who cared for her. I couldn’t recommend this place more!

I brought my dog by for overnight boarding for the first time based on a friend's recommendation. They were very helpful via email as I had a lot of logistics to work out. They accepted his bed and special food and were so kind and easy to work with. They sent him home with an adorable "report card" and a photo with sweet notes about how well he did! I will definitely board here again and even bring him by for doggie day care.

They always take great care of our dog. He is always excited to go back so we never feel bad about not taking him with us on vacation. The pictures at the end of their stay is a nice bonus.

RUN as fast as you can away from Powderhouse Pet Resort - save your pets and yourself the anguish you're likely to experience with this staff. If you care for your pets like family (as I do) find another company for boarding, grooming, and daycare needs. The facility might 'look' nice, but behind the scenes and the true side of the staff - these people shouldn't be allowed near animals.

Our boys do zoomies when they realize they are going to"school." They so enjoy pool time and just in general love being there. When we drop them off, they can't wait to get out of the car. The staff is always so good to the boys and love to see them. It's a great place for fur babies.

Had a very bad experience. I called several months ago to request my dog who have boarded there before. The dates were good to go and I called a week before our trip just to make sure everything is good and asked them if there is anything shots records I need to bring since my dog was last boarded few years ago. I was told no they don’t need anything if she goes to the same doctor and which she does. On the drop of day they mixed up my dog reservation with another dog and had someone else’s information on my dog’s chart. After I corrected that I was told that they can’t board her until she has her kennel cough shots. Literally told me the day I am dropping her and my flight is leaving in next 3 hours. I was so stressed out by trying to get the shot done in time only if my vet squeeze me on for an appt. I asked them why didn’t say anything week ago when I asked if they need any shot records and the rep told me that they had a mix up with another dog. So their mixed to caused me so much stress, almost missing my flight and they didn’t apologize or even accommodate anything. You would think that the mix up will end there but NO. When I went to pick up my dog they charged me for someone else’s dog and didn’t realize until I said something. They had to refund and charge my card again for the right amount. I will never use them or recommend them. If you care about you pets don’t use them.

This place is highly recommended by friends, however….1) expensive for what you “don’t “ get. You are not allowed to look at accommodations. No cameras available for the customer to monitor. Was told by the staff upon arrival “call us anytime we are open” to check on your dog but when I called 5 times in two days, no one answers the phone.2) I paid for a suite which it would have been nice to see that he actually stayed in that room.3) I paid for extra play time but did he get it?I will say the staff are nice. Many are just young high school age children. I got a nice card with a photo of him playing with a toy, documenting two of the play times he supposedly got.I will go back but wish they would spend a little money and put cameras in so that parents can view their pets.

NEVER again will I use Powderhouse Pet Resort. We have used them for many years, travelling from Augusta, GA to board our dogs there. Our dog passed away 2 years ago and we have not used them since. We now have a new dog and called them for boarding. They wanted him to come to doggie daycare first since he's a large bread. We did that. NEVER have I had a dog get so sick after spending a day at a kennel. When we called them and asked if they watched him while outside, we got, "Well, we don't watch them ALL the time." Not sure what has changed over the last 2 years but that will be the last time we use Powderhouse Pet Resort. I care about my dog too much to leave him in their care again.

Add in charges not discussed when booking boarding. Dogs came ho.e smelling of feces. Nail trims I requested not done. Bold faced lies to me about my dogs behavior as I have 2 males that are hyper aggressive to each other, and a female who gets along with everyone. They told me the males were best friends. Because my female looked at the fence, they leash walked her and didn't let her play. She didn't try to escape, she just looked at the fence.

The best way to describe how awesome this place is, is to explain through my dogs reactions.... at the last two kennels we took them to (years ago), the dogs would shake and cry when we pulled in the parking lot. They wouldn't get out of the car. They would come home sad and depressed. At Powderhouse, they are so excited when we pull in! Tails banging against the seat and whining to get out and run inside. They don't even look back at us! When they come home, they are worn out from all the play time, and just normal. No anxiety or anything. And the photos and notes that PPR gives me at pick up, makes me feel so good about them there. They literally look like they're smiling in the photos.

I have a 60lb German Shepherd mix and we have boarded her at Powderhouse Pet Resort several times now, generally for about a 5 day stretch. We've kept her in both the pethouse suites and the basic kennels, and she seems to have an absolute blast. She gets swim time, play time, and special treats. They also give her a bath before we pick her up, plus they send her home with a "report card" and photos of the fun we missed!I hate having to leave her when we go out of town, but I know she's probably having a better time than I am.

We left for the weekend leaving our 3 English bulldogs with Powderhouse pet resort. We got a phone call Sat stating that our youngest was limping but did not tell us that she was keeping all her weight off of her leg completely holding it off the ground. She has a leg that pops out of the shoulder joint every now and then (common in Bulldogs). When we returned that was not the leg that was injured.When we returned we immediately took her to the vet to find out she has a torn acl. They of course can not provide any information as to what happened even though they have cameras throughout the facility. They state she was fence fighting and claim she must have hurt it then. This is not possible as there has to be something really traumatic to tear a acl.If you care for your pet do your self a favor and do not board here. they let her sit in pain for the rest of the weekend and never indicated the severity of the injury to my wife. $3000 surgery on the way and of course they take no responsibility.

I have been taking my dogs here for over 25 years here. All of the groomers, Chey, Leslie and Donna are amazing...along with Breann, the front desk person. I am saying this because I don't want anyone to think that I am upset with them.However, I took my 9 month old malamute puppy in for grooming and boarding last week. When I picked him up he had not been given his medication that was to be given daily with his food. I took frozen green beans.. enough for the week.. he was not given those. I had him groomed. When I picked him up I could not even tell he had been groomed. I had to ask. He was not fluffy as he normally is when I take him to Petsmart, and he did not smell like he had been groomed. When I got home I called powder house and I spoke with the groomer, I believe her name was Christine. I told her that I had been coming there a long time and I was very disappointed this time. I was very nice about it, but that I did not want them to be losing clients because I thought a lot of the girls there. Christine could have cared less and basically told me that "well the next time maybe you should ask for one of those girls" She told me his nails had been clipped. His front nails had not been clipped only the back ones. His ears were dirty and when rubbing through his hair I could feel that he was not clean.In all the years I have been there I have never been disappointed, but I will never take my dogs back to powder house again. Unfortunately, after speaking with Christine I was more upset than when I had called in the beginning because of her attitude, so I am writing this to let the owner know and the general public ...Powderhouse kennels is not the same as it used to be...not even close!

I recently started putting my 17 week old shihpooh at Powderhouse and I absolutely love it. They are very friendly, honest and caring when it comes to my fur baby. I love the daily report cards and pictures they give me when I pick him up. The rates are very reasonable I can tell my baby loves it here. Wonderful. They are very special people. Grace loved her stay and personal attenion. They even had her bathed smelli g and looking so good when i arrived back to pick her up after a 5 day stay. They even gave me a hand written card from here caretakers and a photo of her actively and happily at place. If you have a medium or large dog the get personal one on one play time and care. Not group outdoor time. Each furbaby has there own indoor/outdoor run and provided with a off the ground cot at night. I studied where to leave Grace and i would recommend here in a heartbeat. We travel several times a year and have a lab and 2 cats. Our lab seemed to be very happy at Powderhouse Pet Resort, so we'll be using them for all our pets now. We've had them with another boarder and I thought the dog would break down the door to get to us when we picked him up. At Powderhouse, he walked out calmly. He was happy to see us but not frantic like the other place. Your pets always let you know.I think Powderhouse employees don't just board the pets, they pay attention to them. When I'm away on vacation I like to think that the separation isn't difficult and stressful for my pets. That's the impression I get with Powderhouse.

I have brought my 9 shar pei here over the last 30 years, for daycare and boarding. All had multiple health issues, most chronic. Not only have these staff treated our dogs like they were their family, they have managed medications, food and bathing impeccably. We take trips for up to two weeks and the dogs are in outstanding condition when we get home. The dogs love daycare and start as puppies. We could not live without these people and they have our total trust and respect. You cannot put a price on that when it comes to your faimly!

Phenomenal place to Board our dogs. They came back well rested and a bit better behaved. Great, caring staff. This was our first experience with Powderhouse. Impressive.
