We adopted two of our cats ( Bailey and Molly) a couple of years ago from the Woonsocket Cat Sanctuary and had a great experience. We are huge cat lovers and often go back to visit other cats or charitable causes that they hold. We often donate and encourage anyone who loves cats to do the same.

Wonderful sanctuary that has provided care and services to over 10,000 cats and kittens! The kindest volunteers ever! And a weekly weekend yard sale during Fall thru spring that might be one of the best you'll ever see - incredibly organized! Community support has been amazing! Thanks to the generosity of so many who help keep this operation purring! You won't find bigger hearts than the ones you'll find here and in the caring community.

We adopted our sweet boy from here and our hearts are so full! The cat Sanctuary made the process easy and the women there were all so kind and willing to answer all of my questions.

The staff here are truly dedicated to these cats. From the inside of the Sanctuary to the Yard Sale store. They give so much of their time and talents.

Love this place and what they do. Hard to find for those of us who are unfamiliar with Woonsocket as they are hidden behind another store, but worth going. Their indoor flea markets that help to fundraise for the support of the animals is worth visiting too. Volunteers and staff are polite and friendly. Please visit our donate to help this worthwhile place.

Thank you for helping these animals. It’s super limited on hours and a bit unorganized but they are definitely 5 star for what they do do to help suffering cats.

Fantastic place! These people really, really have a great for cats! It's evident in everything they do! The Sanctuary is decorated with so many cool cat artworks. They know their kitties and they know them well.

I am updating my not so happy review from yesterday. (Sorry) I was upset at the lack of direction on what to do with a stray we found. The review recieved a response from the shelter saying they wanted to help and to call for further information. We just dropped off the stray kitten and she is going to get the attention and love she deserves. Thank you for working with us to give this love bug a chance at a wonderful life. Thank you for all you do for these fur babies!

Just adopted 2 kittens from them. When we initially came to see them, the volunteers found them & made efforts to gather them for us. They were very patient with our 3 year old asking 7000 questions & trying to get in the cages lol. Will definitely stop in for visits/to make donations. Thanks so much for our new babies!

Very friendly staff, cats and kittens are well cared for. All kittens have their shots and are “Fixed” before being adopted. Great place for the cats and kittens as they have special times out of their cages to run around! I’m happy for the cats and kittens that are here! I recently adopted a kitten and I’m very happy with him. I would love to adopt another but it cost $200. for the fees from the cost of shots done and everything. I just don’t have another $200. Right now.But thank you,Jean Costa♥️ and Tux

The people who work here are great! Helpful and compassionate when I went to talk to them about my lost cat. I got to see a beautiful gray kitty get adopted by a family while I was there. I also got to pet one of the tuxedo cat brothers. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name, but he was a love bug!

This place makes it so difficult to even see the cats. I went in and was told all the cats needed to be fixed. All of them, to call back next week. They refused to take my number to call me back when they were available. I called again, and once again I was told to call back. It's so unorganized. People should be able to meet the cats regardless of being fixed so they know if they bond well or not before investing time waiting. We should get a call back when what we're looking for arrives. As is, this place is a gamble. Did you call back too late?

Originally came to the reviews to see if others had the same experience with the director as we did. She was very rude and it became quickly appearent she didnt want us to have a cat before she even asked about our history. It is a shame, the volunteers otherwise were very nice and i dont think people complaining about the smell is very fair. Its a shelter and the people that were there were working hard to clean. Im just hoping that the director is that way because she can afford to be picky, it would be terrible if the animals werent able to find a good home because of that.

Great little place that helps out with cats. They have various flea markets to raise money for cat adoptions and to help people who are struggling to keep their cats and other pets.

Great selection on cat toys and cat towers but went in to adopt a cat and she said appointments only. I told her it doesn't say that anywhere but she didn't believe me. She was extremely rude about it. I told her I was there to adopt a cat and she was like "really, you" then started to laugh at me a little bit. She treated every cat like it was her cat and that it was a privilege that we were visiting her cats. It's like she didn't want any of the cats to be adopted.

Very friendly people. Nice sanctuary for the cats. Very clean. A good place to look if you're up for adopting a cat. A good place to be if you're a lost cat. There are usually cats of all ages but it's best to just go and look. We brought home a 3 year old girl and my in-laws brought home a 2 year old female. Both are very happy, healthy, and well adjusted pets. All fees go towards the sanctuary and of course the cats. All these folks are volunteers and do a great job.

This place is awesome!! On Sundays in the back, they have a rummage & resale thrift shop where all the proceeds go to the cats!! It's set up really nicely inside and they are always taking donations of usable items and clothing.

The below reviewer is ignorant and heartless. You have no idea how many people it takes to keep this shelter going , yet they always scrape by with many fewer. The people who come here in all kinds of weather, every day of the week, work very hard in an older imperfect building putting their own bodies at risk for the cats. When any cat passes away, it hurts like they’re family. Every effort is made to ensure the comfort and safety of the cats and find them the best permanent home. It’s not possible for all the cat’s to be out all the time. There’s many reasons for this. Nor is it possible to avoid the stink in a poorly-ventilated building full of litter boxes. Let alone with older abandoned cats that weren’t neutered. If you think you can do better, let’s see it. They’re always welcoming to hardworking volunteers who stick around to put in the sweat instead of taking the time to complain online.

Wonderful indoor yard sale run by a great group of volunteers. The prices are so reasonable! All proceeds go to provide for the cats that are in their care. Don't miss out on this one!

I had to surrender my cats & as heartbroken as i was , they helped me & assured that they are in good hands. It makes me feel good that they keep open communication regarding ur pet and who has adopted them. Plus they have a huge place for them to run around. I'm very happy i picked them. You can also visit anytime, donate cat food or supplies or you can buy cat stuff from them. All proceeds go to the cats! Great place. God Bless them for such a wonderful job .

We were rudely greeted by a lady who asked what we were doing there and then didn’t listen. It also smelt horrible. I do love the heart and hard work that goes into running a shelter but please respect those who have the same mission.

I went in to make a food donation and I absolutely love how this facility is run. They have some cats that are able to roam free, while the ones who are not medically cleared or the ones who don't play well with others are separated. They have volunteers running this place and they are all very friendly. This is a nice place to go and choose a fur baby to love or to go and make a donation. I was told they are always in need of dry cat food, friskies wet cat food (as long as it's not fish flavored), non-scoopable litter, bleach, and paper towels. This is a nice place to go to warm your heart.

The staff is rude and judgy if you are surrendering your pet. When I called about a surrender, I told them I live in Pawtucket, they told me I had to go their locations. In the middle of apologizing, they hung up on me.If they are rude to people/owners, imagine how they treat the cats!

I adopted 2 kittens 6 years ago and as of a month ago was unable to keep them. I thought the sanctuary was the excellent place for them. Not the case .. I have harassed by one of there volunteers and with in a month one of my cats is dead after a cats fine check up at the vet. I call upset and a volunteer hangs up on me. I want the ASPCA to shut you down. May you rot in hell !

First, the website should mention that you need to drive between the two businesses on Mendon Rd, in order to find this place & that the entrance is on the side of the building not opposite the upper parking area or at least a sign on the upper door as to where you can enter. The odor upon entering was staggering, almost takes your breathe away, the place was a mess, no organization just clutter. The staff aloof. The pet cages were dirty, the cats craved attention which was not unexpected. I felt sorry for them. My first & last visit.

My daughter and I took my Grandson in to look at cats, my daughter had questions and was thinking of adopting a cat, a young women was very nice, but one of the women there did not seem to want to find homes for the cats. She seemed like they where all her cats on display, also they where just opening and said it will be a few minutes, which was not a problem, but they never had the common decency to come get us an employee from store next door, finally let us in, they do need volunteers maybe to replace the directors!

I visit there whenever I get a chance. They work hard to get these cats a forever home. I cannot leave their without tears in my eyes. It hurts to see, for example, a mother cat in one cage and the babies in a separate cage. They are well fed and taken good care of by the best staff of volunteers in Woodsocket. Thank you, Debbie and volunteers for caring. God Bless you all.
