I am beyond disappointed with our experience with 401 Reptiles at my daughters party yesterday. To start, he was supposed to arrive at 1:00 and he didn’t get there and started until after 1:30. When he started and things were going great until he handed my nephew (5) a ferret, wasn’t paying attention and the ferret wiggled out of his hands and fell. He then scolded my nephew in front of everyone saying that because he dropped an animal he won’t be allowed to hold anymore. Which I understand, but if he’d been paying attention he would have seen the animal trying to wiggle out of his arms and been able to take him. He was not good with little kids at all. When he was leaving he claimed he didn’t know until that morning how old the kids would be, which is untrue. When I booked the party I spoke to him directly, in person, and told him the birthday girl was turning 3 and there would also be older kids there as well. I remember that specificity because he said he had some furry animals he would bring along and he only brought the one ferret. He never once said that was too young and wasn’t a good idea. So after acting like we were in the wrong for booking this, he then left behind a reptile. I was so excited for the kids to have this experience and I was left full of regret wishing I had never booked.

Does not honor posted hours. States open Saturdays at 11am. I arrived at 10:45, waited, at 11:20am I had watched 2 customers come and go, and watched a line of "walk in" customers amass outside the shop door.. maybe they knew opening late was common practice for this place? Either way, quickly realized that this last minute, flash mob opening (if ever opened) would not be a suitable atmosphere for my wife and kid to browse and select a pet for an enclosure we got.From the look threw the windows, the store seemed "cramped".. I also typically feed my animals in the morning.. knowing their was no staff there all morning, and knowing a line of customers waited whoever planned on opening, makes me worry IF and when these animals are fed, as there seems to be no set schedule. Will not return, even if offered a free pet.

Absolutely love this place, we have bought numerous beautiful boas here and love all of them. Ray and Sir Jayson have been nothing but helpful, and very down to earth. I highly recommend paying them a visit, very clean, huge selection, and genuinely love what they do.

Staff cares just as much about taking care of their reptiles as they do their customers! Got the most beautiful, sweet little baby dragon from here and the man working had the answers to all my questions and gave me all the reassurance that I needed. All their reptiles were very well cared for (as opposed to almost every single chain and a few other shops) so it was definitely worth spending the extra couple bucks to ensure id end up with a quality pet. 5/5 for sure definitely went above and beyond for me as I'm sure they would for you too!! Thanks again guys :)

Great place to stop by and check out , bro Ray will always make you happy when you purchase a reptile ! best place to go to when you have a budget in mind!! he will run around the shop placing different options in your face for your budget and make sure you are satisfied with what you get no doubt about it !! love this place personally i highly recommend it and give 5 stars !

401 Reptiles is located in a small shop in West Warwick RI. It's easy to find off the main st. You do have to park on the street as it's a storefront with no parking. As I mentioned, it is quaint, but it is very clean and organized. All animals are very well cared for in clean and beautiful habitats with species and prices marked clearly. Owners are on site and extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. I was able to handle and spend some time with 3 box turtle babies before selecting a baby to take home with me. On site they have reptiles, all the bugs and crawlers that reptiles live toeat, and appropriate bedding and habitat materials to help you start out. I am not sure I they sell many supplies or habitats as I did not need this stuffmyself, but also didnt see an areato shop for it, but im sure they have a few things in the back to help any enthusiast create an appropriatehabitatfor theirpet. All types of payments includingcash, zelle, chasapp, pay pal and google pay are accepted here.,

My son that lives in RI told me about this place so i did a little research on it & im pretty happy with Ray the owner. If you own a business you know what it takes to run one. If not everyone has to put their 2 cents in and react on the negative. Im very happy with the reptile i bought. He has a good selection of reptiles so i bought a Moroccan Uromastyx then went back for a CBB Ornate Uromastyx. Very pleased with this reptile shop. Yes i will be doing a lot of business with Ray.

Absolutely recommended to anyone looking for a new reptile. Bought my very first ball python last month from them and they helped me with the whole set up, and feeding schedule. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable. Animals as re kept clean and are very healthy. I have 0 complaints about my visit.

The best reptiles place in Rhode Island hands down. Don’t believe me walk into Sabrina reptiles and you tell me .Clean they love there reptiles and very professional place for reptiles of all kinds. Just gotten a very very healthy pastel ball python. Definitely will be getting another one.

Great place for advice on care for your reptile. The owner is very knowledgeable. They also are very reliable to get food for your reptile. Staff is always friendly and they have great reptiles of all shapes and sizes looking for a good home. I highly recommend them.

Excellent place, great service and all the reptiles are heathy and fed daily! Never mind these barely keeping them alive with these maintenance diets. I was quite impressed when I went in all the reptiles were healthy and before you purchase, you can even watch it eat one last time before it leaves the store great place healthy animals. I just love it I recommend if you’re in the market for reptiles and amphibians then this is the place for you!

I am a first time snake owner, but nowhere near a novice with handling them. While looking for my first ever snake, instead of buying from some big box store with sickly animals, I chose to buy from a local seller instead. Ray has a beautiful collection of BP'S and other reptile friends at reasonable prices, high quality feeder rodents and insects for cheap and a wide range of knowledge for beginner owners like me.You will end up going in for feeder rats and end up with both the rats AND a new snake! .. just like me...♡ Both snakes I have from 401 are healthy, no sign of illness at all!Buy local. We purchased our tortoise today at 401 Reptiles after having checked out 4 other reptile/pet stores between MA and RI, and almost having lost hope that we would find that really special new pet to welcome home!Immediately opon walking in, my daughter and I were warmly and promptly greeted by the owner. He was friendly and took his time explaining his tortoises to us and showing us his selection. He answered all of my questions and patiently listened and discussed in detail my concerns. He made me feel very comfortable and confident with his expertise and knowledge of the animals we had been shown! The shop was very clean, maintained and all the animals looked well cared for! Excellent customer service! We will be back for all our our tortoise needs!!!

This place is disgusting, the smell was gross the owner was talking to another person about a snake, and he didn’t even say anything like “I’ll be with you in a moment” or “Sorry I’m busy right now I will be with you soon. But he didn’t say anything he even looked at me, just go to Sabrina’s Reptile Kingdom in Cumberland, they actually know what customer service is.

I spoke to Ray today with concerns regarding my turtle. He took the time to answer all of my questions and eased my mind telling me that my boy Peta was just doing what was natural. He did not try to rush me off the phone and was patient and understanding. I cannot wait to go see Ray about getting my next baby! I buy my crickets here due to the cheap price. However, a lot of the reptiles in the store look malnourished and have improper husbandry as well as a lot of the lizards having missing tails meaning they’ve been improperly cared for a lot of lizards that are solitary creatures are paired up, which causes them lots of stress and can lead to malnourishment as well. I didn’t see many UV bulbs that A lot of bearded dragons, and other types of lizards and snakes need as well as kinked tails, and signs of bad breeding insome of the animals. I would not recommend getting anything other than feeders here.
