The talented medical staff at Riverise Animal Hospital was able to recognize subtle signs of cancer in my animal companion. This allowed us to promptly begin treatment and, although only by a couple months, extended the amount of quality time the two of us got to share together. None of this would have been possible without the care of the doctors at Riverside Animal Hospital.I don't necessarily feel my companion was given the best care by all her providers, at various medical facilities, throughout her cancer treatment. But I am confident that the doctors at this medical facility provided her the very best treatment possible and that they had a positive impact on my companion's overall longevity.

Dr. Gilmore and her staff treated and cured my dog's heartworm. Thanks to them, he will have many more happy and healthy years ahead of him! He was adopted from a rescue in Texas and they told me he would be "fine" with a slow kill method. Dr. Gilmore disagreed and explained why and how the fast kill method was much better. I trusted her because she's incredibly knowledgeable and professional. She always took the time to explain the details of the process and called me several times to discuss it in depth. It's scary to hear that your beloved dog has heartworms, but Dr. Gilmore was always reassuring and optimistic. I needed that in order to get through this. I'm grateful to her, the staff and Dr. Portnoy for all that they did for our pooch as well as for our family!

Well care clinic only. They are fine for routine care. BUT, have had 4 separate emergencies with my dog and cat, that they never ever helped with. Always tells me to go to a vet ER. My cat has been limping for over a month, they gave me an appointment 3 weeks out and cancelled the morning of the apt. My grandaughter wrote an honest review about lack oservice and I got my pet records in an email, with no explanation. I asked for an explanation and received a call back and got lit into and yelled at, yes yelled at..... "how dare we say anything negative about them we take this very seriously, why would we want you as a customer", is close to a direct quote. How they Have always provided service, I now have 4 instances where that is unfortunately not true. After 6 years of going there, my dog and cat has been fired by the office manager. Never have I ever experienced anything like this.

I’m 100% of the thought that my cat’s neuter was intentionally botched so that they could bleed more money out of me. An infection in his lower abdomen was immediately reported to me as having “nothing to do with the neuter”(lie). I then, after two more visits of antibiotics and, over the phone, agreeing to the suggestion of blood work (never happened), am being told that he is septic (incorrect). I’m told I have to either put my cat down or put him on “intensive surgery”. I decided to just pay the outstanding bill and bring my cat to an emergency vet. This decision seemed to annoy a doctor who I will remain from naming, as they stormed off without a goodbye. Upon bringing my cat to the emergency vet, they performed blood work, as well as requested the blood work from Riverside, which is when it was explained to me that they never did any. The emergency vet’s bloodwork also revealed that my cat was in fact, not septic and was suffering from an abdominal infection, a direct result of the neuter. My cat needing intensive surgery seemed to be the only thing Riverside got right, as it was a two month long recovery process for my cat. I hope I get one of those stupid copy and paste responses to this so I know that someone at Riverside has read this.

We had an awful experience. We were 10 minutes late and they would not see us. I begged as my dog was in pain and we had been waiting for the appointment. Receptionists were rude and condescending. She said we had a 30 minute appointment. My dog had not been seen here before. The appt was for evaluation and accupuncture obviously without a willingness to exceed the 30 min if necessary. This was a blessing in disguise I believe. There was absolutely no regard or compassion for my dog or myself. Would not recommend for your pet under any circumstances.

They did a great job of making Walter and myself feel at ease with our first appointment at a new vet. It was a pleasure meeting the staff and Dr. Portnoy was sweet and very knowledgeable. Everyone was very understanding of the idea that Walter is a Malinois, as each animal has its own personality traits as does each dog breed. They understood that a 5 month old puppy won’t be perfectly trained yet and were tolerant of any barking, playful jumping or nibbling. All in all…a pleasurable and comfortable experience. Would recommend, even from my limited experience. Good luck in your Vet search. 👋🏻✌🏻

Came to this vet many times over the last few years with my aged cat. They were all so great with her, even though she had lots of opinions about everything and was never afraid to share them. I appreciate Dr. Gilmore especially for being kind and answering all of my many anxiety-induced questions. The prices felt reasonable, especially compared to previous vets we'd had.

Back in February I called my dogs ear was red and no return call. Message said they were busy later that night all over Facebook with valentine’s pictures with animals. They call me today because they refuse to order a medicine for itchy skin and need a script. Highly recommended by many. Explained I had a house fire and can’t get there right now and they refuse to do anything for her. We called your house and your mother said she would tell you. I never give that number out as my mom has dementia. I’ve used them in the past great care now just horrible, uncaring and no compassion. I should’ve know after the first visit! Time for a new vet but I would never recommend them.

I cannot say enough good things about Riverside Animal Hospital. Both of my dogs have their own set of issues and they have always been accommodating.They have done older dogs' double knee surgery and continued to support her afterwards with therapy.My younger dog has terrible skin issues and they have gone to great lengths to make sure he is well taken care of and comfortable. I even moved further away and because of my trust in them I won't change vets.Nicole is always supporting us, caring, and making sure all of my concerns are heard.Doctor Anna has cared for my dogs like they are her own.I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else.

I took my animals there for many many years thinking that they truly cared about the welfare of my animals. I was crushed to learn how wrong I was. So very saddened by the complete lack of compassion for established patients. As long as your pet never gets sick, you might be okay. But if there is ever a remote possibility you pet might someday become ill, please please please consider another hospital

Everyone who lives in riverside will tell you don't go to riverside animal hospital they are notorious for charging way to much for everything! Turns out they aren't just expensive their vet Dr Gilmore is also mentally unhinged she came flying out telling me off in front of my children ! because my cat wasn't wearing her cone post surgery and clapping her hands in my face i had to ask her to step away from my vehicle because she was acting so aggressive her boss tried to save the day but it didn't work I'll never go there again in my life nor will I ever recommend any of my friends or family and I will write a bad review anywhere I can to warn others of their unprofessional mentally unstable veterinarians costs almost 500 to have your cat spayed just to be yelled at if you dont do what she says no thanks don't go here

The staff at this facility have always taken good care of my two dogs over the past 15 years. They are accessible and compassionate, and have always treated my pets as if they were their own. The veterinary care is excellent. I would recommend Riverside without reservation.

This is my vet and they’re terrible. We have had multiple pet situations where our animals needed to be seen and they “couldn’t” see them. Current situation: My cat has been limping for about a month. We called the vet a month ago (the day after the limp started) and they said we just have to make an appointment because they’re full and can’t see her right now. We made the appointment for today, Monday sept 26th and got a call from the vet saying the dr was out sick and the cat can’t be seen yet again. I asked them when the next available appointment is because she’s struggling to walk and the limp is getting worse and they told me A FEW MORE WEEKS!!! They do not care about helping animals. If u need to put ur pet down they can help but if u wanna help ur pet get better I highly suggest taking them elsewhere.Another time last year my dog ate a HUGE chocolate brownie out of the trash and needed her stomach pumped and they said they couldn’t see her then either and we had to take her to an emergency animal hospital.They’ve been our vet for years now and we always have to bring our pets else where for care because the animals health is clearly NOT the top priority at this establishment.

My boyfriend researched vets near us, and although we live in southern MA, this place had the best reviews and best prices. I am so glad he found this animal hospital! Upon taking our kitten to his first appointment (at a convenient time after we were both home from work), the three employees who greeted us were immediately friendly and welcoming. You can tell they love their jobs and the pets and owners! Dr. Anna (forgive my forgetting her last name!) is an all-around amazing person; easy to talk to and a breath of fresh air. They answered all of our questions/concerns and even gave us a free sample of flea and tick preventative medication. We left the place raving about our experience (and feeling reassured that our kitten will have good people taking care of him when he is neutered). I cannot praise them enough after just one appointment!

I'm never coming back here. The prices are way too high for little to no help. I called for a sore on my kittens neck that she keeps scratching at. When I asked if they could offer a temporary solution while we wait for our appointment, I was told they couldn't even listen to my description or offer any help because they hadn't seen her yet. (Which, by the way, called another office that unfortunately isn't taking new patients right now, but still listened and offered temporary advice.) The soonest appointment was a week away, so whatever, I kept a close eye and managed the open wound for the week. When we brought her, she was taken inside and we were told they would weigh her and the doctor would be out to speak to us soon. Waited several minutes, and she was brought back out to us. Never got asked why we were there. I was told that she was given a vaccine (that i NEVER asked for, how did they know i could afford it???) and we asked about an evaluation for her neck sore (THE REASON WE WERE THERE). "Sometimes cats just have a need to scratch themselves" or she "could have burned herself on a candle flame". I don't light candles, and I've watched her scratch herself. We told them it was an open wound, and their response was "no, it's scabbed over"....but it reopens when she scratches it. They gave me an ointment, again, that I didn't ask for, and when asked if the ointment was okay for her to ingest, was told she can't reach the spot (which she very well can, either by licking OR paw-to-mouth, I've seen her do it) and then skated around the question. Told me she had no fleas, but prescribed a flea medication, and when i asked if it could be food allergies, I got no response. To top it all off, a woman pulled in next to us and interrupted our meeting, to which the doctor responded, "oh, guess were done here!" and told us to call and check out. Little knowledge on the subject it seemed to me, and they just want your money. No care for the animals. I've found a cheaper and much more personable and helpful vet through recommendation from a friend. I was hoping to get a professional opinion but from now on I'll have to continue on my own diagnosis until I can visit the new vet.
