Great selection of saltwater fish, coral, and other items. There were a few freshwater tanks with fish and frogs as well. I truly enjoyed how the owner was so knowledgeable and you could tell right away the care he gives all of his fish and tanks (not to mention the store in general) is nothing short of phenomenal compared to other major chain pet stores with their tanks. DEF must stop in if you're in the area or in need of anything for your home tanks.

These guys saved my butt- I was about to leave for vacation and I needed a sensor to automate my tank with a Neptune controller and they had it in stock! Really helped me rest easy knowing that a lot of the regular maintenance that I do could be automated so that it was easy for my caretaker while I was away.

Every time I have been there the owner has made an extra effort to help me with my request!! He is very busy so sometimes I’ve had to wait my turn but when he does take care of me I’m always pleased with the results, even if the answer is a no, at least he’s honest and I can move on to another possibility. I appreciate that! Don’t make promises or lead me on if it’s not going to work! Obviously he can’t fill every need but this is the first place I Always go to First!!

Visited for the first time today. It's so close to home, I was hoping it might end up being my go to place! The products they carry are great and it's a nice selection. Beautiful dragonstone and other decor as well. I know nothing about salt water, but they seem to have a good selection. Amazing starfish! There were a few little containers that had animals in them. About water cooler size cups. I can't really say one way or another if I think that's appropriate as I don't do salt water, but the eel was very cramped in his cup and it made me uncomfortable.The freshwater selection, our reason for going there, was really lacking. Which is fine if it's mostly a salty store, but the fresh fish they did have had clamped find, muted colors and a good amount were dead. Dead for a while, like fuzzy and stuck to filters.I love my fish at home they mean a lot to us. It was saddening to see so many that were noticeably not doing okay. The owner, I think, greeted us kindly as we looked around. I'm sure that they are doing their very best, but unfortunately, it just isn't the right store for us.

John is extremely busy there ya takes some time to get stuff but he has phones ringing people asking questions people paying. Ya he could hire help but then prices start to go up. I started in 2003 found his shop bought all my stuff from him. Left hobby 13 years to go back to johns place. He wont sell u the higest ticked skimmer in his store he sells u the best performance and best priced skimmer. Will always be back

So glad too see this place is still there. Me and my dad started this hobby 20 years ago when I was in high school. I can’t believe people told me this place closed down. It’s still where it was in 1999, the last time I was there. LFS is a cutthroat business around RI, but I really liked this store and John in particular. Look forward to seeing how his store has evolved with the industry...

Knows his stuff, although he is usually to busy to help answer your questions. The aquariums appearance has improved since I started going as well. Some negatives are fish left dead in tanks, not very assertive to help customers and won't test your water for you. Pros are his prices are good, verity of fish is nice, and if you get lucky enough to talk with the owner he isn't a bad guy although his first impressions are not the best.

I walked in today and several of the freshwater fish had ich, there were old dead fish in a majority of the tanks not to mention a lot of alge overgrowth. If you walk over to the other side to check out the bottles of tank treatments you'll find them so old their imploded and expired. I went here to get supplies to start off a big tank but I felt really uncomfortable buying anything from here and didn't stay more than 5 minutes.

The owner John is a very honest and kind person. The animals he has there are in great health and the selection is really nice compared to other stores I've been to. I bought a new african clawed frog not too long ago and am going to continue to return to this nice pet store. Highly recommend it if you haven't been here yet. The prices are extremely affordable. Best pet store because they still carry african clawed frogs.

Dude that runs it is actually helpful , he knows all his species and products. Even when place was packed he makes time to answer questions from my younger son who always comes with me to shop. Great prices and good quality corals . Only dislike is that he opens kind of late

John is a great guy will answer any questions. This store has a quality slection of gear and dry goods, mainly salt water focused store, has started going south, lack of help and over priced stock on corals, he gets them mostly from overseas. I prefer aquaculture coral less problems in the long run. But over all good place to find some of the harder to find fish at an acceptable price. Tho I haven't purchased any live stock from John besides a few zoas, only one survived in my tank as I keep my tank at 11dkh, these corals I didn't know when I got them were live from the ocean. Makes adaptation much harder on corals going from ocean to tank to tank.I get all my emergency RO from John. Fair price on water.

personal opinion. prices are cheap BUT.... the conditions that some of the livestock are kept in are the worst i've seen. I understand necessary cleaning/restocking days and that aquariums in general are messy, but of all the regional stores this is at the bottom. MUCH better options within an hour

The owner has been in business for over 2 decades and is extremely knowledgeable. There is always an excellent selection of fish and coral but be sure to go on Thursdays this is fish/coral delivery day and there will be a lot to choose from. The prices at Sea Creature are by far the best not only in the state but also the best in the region, no joke! I highly recommend Sea Creature.

We purchase 5 koi 1 month ago. All dead never came out after we put in pond. We have had a pond for over 15 years. No predictors and the water is perfect. He had just gotten them the day we purchased. We are out $80 dollars
