prescribed food, I am new with this. I went to petco to get my dog prescribed food and was told I can't get it because there's no Vet to approve my order. I said what do you mean? I am giving you the original prescription from my vet showing you what I need šŸ¤”šŸ¤”. So my pet went out with no food for an whole evening, because the store manager won't help me "at less to get an can until the next day." She said she is not authorized. 1st time I hear that an store manager is not Authorized to do so. 😔

My children have found a love for beareddrangon as a newer owner of reptiles Andrew who works Closely with the reptiles is very knowledgeable of reptiles and of his job along with all the staff I have encountered at this petco location I had to come in on and emergency my daughter's beareddrangon had sadly passed away after owning her for a few days over month the manager along with Andrew took good care of us and helped me replace a beareddrangon before my 10yr old daughter came home from school unfortunately she fingered out as soon as she got home the beareddrangon looked smaller n had a blacker head so we did have to explain the difference she cried a bit but was very happy and is bonded with her new bearedie friend ty to all the staff and great manger who came to our rescue in need and understood how these little animal touch our human hearts šŸ’•

SABOTAGE PETCO !The worst place ever! I had made my appointment to bring my dogs in as a NEW customer , filled out the questionnaire etc online then once I’ve arrived Am greeted by the worst of all front desk ā€œ clerks ā€œ directed me to the examination room and then proceeded to demand all of my dogs vet records otherwise the dog won’t be seen by the vet , I’ve asked How’s that this is not a step to be taken before the visit to what he replied ( šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø needs to be done or we can’t see your dog ). ARE YOU FOR REAL?! anyways, here I lost half a day of work because I had asked time off and no vaccines for my dog.DON’T GO THERE! SUPPORT LOCAL VETS !SABOTAGE PETCO !

Vetco prescribed food for my dog's liver issue. I was able to order from the site. However, I didn't receive the 4/6 order until 4/16. They said that it wasn't approved. If it wasn't approved, how did the order complete on the site??? My dog vomited for days while this went on. Reluctantly, I had to go back to the Petco site to order the Simparica pills. I'm having the same issue again! My dog hasn't had his flea pill. Shocked that Buster has to pay for such poor service

Iļø recently took my cat to the vet TWO weeks ago.. for the SECOND time in a month. When I was at the appointment we decided to do a urinalysis on my cat, the vet said we would hear back from her over the weekend if not in 2-3 days with the results.. it’s now been two weeks.. going on the third. Iļø have left countless voicemails for this clinic and have called hundreds of times trying to get in touch with someone.. anyone that works here. This is unacceptable, Iļø understand a week.. three?!? please have someone reach out to me soon than later this is quite ridiculous. Thank you.

Earlier this week I spent $300 dollars purchasing discus fish at your Smithfield location. Then yesterday on March 3rd I spent an additional $250 on an aquarium light and 9 neon tetras. In less than 24 hours 3 of the neon tetras died so I brought them into the store for a refund. I was told by ā€œAshleyā€ who was working the front register that I need to bring in a water sample in for a refund. I was confused because I’ve never had to do that before at any petco I’ve purchased fish from so I asked to confirm this with a manager. With attitude she went and got manager ā€œAndrewā€ who seemed bothered by me asking confirmed this policy. I then drove all the way back home to get a water sample and drove back to this petco and was directed to the aquatics section to have my water tested. The aquatics employee ā€œCimmaronā€ was extremely helpful and the only employee who seemed to care about the customer. He asked me what fish I bought and was shocked that we were sold these fish because they were infected with ā€œiceā€ disease and are suppose to be under observation and informed me that the lady who helped us that day doesn’t work in aquatics and shouldn’t have sold us these fish. My heart dropped when I realized I had unknowingly put 9 fish infected with a deadly disease in my aquarium filled with hundreds of dollars worth of fish and plants. Eager to help Cimmaron went and got the store manager ā€œColleenā€. Colleen could not have cared less about this situation and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. She said the only thing they could do was refund the neon tetras I purchased. I’ve always bought my fish and aquarium equipment from petco spending thousands of dollars because of the great prices and 30 day guarantee and this experience has completely changed my opinion on petco. Now my entire tank is infected with ick and this petco location and its employees (besides Cimmaron who was the only one who showed empathy and urgency to make things right) have done nothing to try to right their wrongs for selling me diseased fish. I really hope we can find a way to work this situation out because at this point I could never see myself shopping at petco ever again.

The vet used a sedative that is not generally used in dogs which resulted in cardiac complications. Therefore they were not able to finish surgery as scheduled. I’m the rush to close, they over tightened the staples leading to necrosis and requiring a follow up siregery which they refused to perform. I want a refund

Took my sister's kitten in for a round of booster shots. Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant. More importantly (to me), I was checked in and taken to the back within 2 mins, back in my car and omw in less than 20. Love the efficiency. Pricey, as vets are, but less so than most others ime. Not 5 stars because I like to know exactly what I'm paying ahead of time, which was not the case.

North main st petco should be closed down , selling dead worms and then won't replace them. The manager hung up on me , so when I went there almost poked my foot stepping out of my car on to a used needle. Lovely place , if you love your pet as I do you won't shop there

This may be out of the store's control, but the Google Hours say that on a Thursday the store would be open at 8 am - but it wasn't. The hospital opened at 8, but the store doesn't open until 9 on weekdays! Wasted my morning with that time discrepancy!

They took my cat away from me to ā€œexamineā€ him and came back within 3 minutes to tell me that he was too stressed to even get out of his cage which was obvious because there were dogs everywhere and they took him away from the only person he trusts. Then they asked me if I wanted the ā€œfull serviceā€ to put him under anesthesia, literally meaning ā€œdo you want the most expensive plan ?ā€ Instead of letting me come in with him for his vaccines. Hated it. Never going there again.

Bailey and I had a great experience at Petco. They make each pet feel very special and they did a great job grooming my dog. šŸ• They have plenty of products that can help your animal, even if that animal has special needs. The one thing I will say is it would be nice if they had a bag of treats that was not so expensive. The least expensive bag of treats was $7.99, with that said it was overall a very good experience and would recommend it to any animal lover.

Our dog went in her for her first time and was helped to be up to date with all her shots and vaccines. They took blood work and gave a quote for a spay. Very next day went to have our dog spayed and everyone was very professional and prompt. Sadie is on day two of recovery and looks very healthy. Thank you petco

This review is more on Petco as a whole and not the individual store, however you need to still work on coaching your store team members on specifics of the new Vital Care Rewards Program.ABSOLUTELY AWFUL and DECEIVING rewards program. The consumer is not saving any money at all by using it. I asked repeatedly to both the in store sales associate and the customer service line what the free bag of dog food would entail after I qualified for the promotion. I was told ANY bag of dog food. Which is a LIE. It’s a $49 bag of dog food. Absolute ludicrous that I spent over $700 in 6 months at petco just to get a $49 value bag of dog food. Unacceptable by any means. I called customer service and they did end up giving me a $25 credit to cover the cost of the dog food that I get for my pup. Still not happy in general with being told false info. This needs to be made clear to the consumer!!!

Terrible staff, took my dog for a grooming appointment today, and they did nothing. Honestly thought that he was going to be in good hands but, their personnel it’s definitely not prepared to deal with animals at all. After all, they wanted to claim that he was being aggressive and that was the reason, when they know damn well that it was not true. When I first got there, the staff member that was supposed to take care of my dog was looking mad unsure, like the world knows Siberian Husky’s tend to look mature even when they are puppies (like mine) but if you do not know what you’re doing, or if you think you are not capable enough for the task then you should’ve just said No. Then, she wants to act funny and stuff saying that they weren’t going to charge me… like.
