I come here often to get food and supplies for my lizards. I like that the location is so convenient and there’s plenty of parking available. Most of the time they have what I need in stock. The best thing about this Petco is the employees! They’re always so friendly and helpful, even when it’s short staffed.

2/15 - EDIT. Dropping to 1 Star. Everytime I go to this store I am disappointed. Customer service is awful. Always understaffed and always put profits before customer. Attempted to return several brand new, in original package, unopened, undamaged, non-perishable items, very restockable/resellable items because I no longer own the pet associated with the items and was told no because it had been 60 days since purchase. Not even store credit. So DO NOT buy extra for your pet! DO NOT buy in advance for your pet! DO NOT keep inventory for your pet because if that pet dies you can't return the items. I could understand if the items were opened, perishable, damaged, not commonly sold items, couldn't be stocked, or If I wanted full cash in return, but to not take back items that are 100% resellable and commonly in demand for store credit is just ridiculous. I'll shop else where for my other pets from now on. I'm just done. Just another example of big corporate chains screwing over their customers because they think they have a monopoly. The manager offered to take them off my hands for free but ultimately seemed confused, afraid, and over her head. Save yourself the trip, DO NOT GO HERE! Shop local! Shop mom & pop stores! Tj Max / Marshalls sells a lot of pet supplies at a fraction of the Petco price. I'm so adamant about how bad this store is, contact me and I'll find whatever you need at another store for you.Nice store, but no staff. Tried in vain to find someone to help me with some saltwater fish selections but after 30 minutes I gave up and left empty handed. It's a 35-40 min drive to the store so it's pretty frustrating to not be able to get what I wanted.

I'm not liking your new return policyI do my pet shopping for my 11 pets in petco and have been for yearsI tried to return some meds for my cats because no vet would take a new patient. They blame all of the bored people out there who adopted cats n dogs hamsters, etc... during Dec 2019 and March 2022More pets are over loading the few affordable and expensive vets, they aren't opening their doorsone of my cats has been hiding under my bed for 9 days not eatingVets don't care, can't be seen, no doctors available, no meds to take..My bf and I figured it out by reading, watching videos, talking to a reliable employee from petcoI had a return this afternoon but no receipt, couldn't be locatedThe employees all said the same thingNo exchanges, no credit on a gift card, no sympathy for my kittyWalked out with no store credit, me gift card, no me meds because I needed that money to purchase something elseI ended up purchasing one of the meds and leaving the spray for Sara's hot spots that hurt her and she loses her fur

Helpful clerk. I was wanting the price of a dog shampoo online and clerk was nice and guided me.The reason for the 3 stars was because the ladies room was disgusting! Tufts of dog hair on floor toilet filthy with a ring of filth at the base on floor.. no soap but a bottle of cleanser next to sink.. so bad. Really upsetting for a big company…

The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I especially like Brianna she is one of the groomers that I completely I trust with cutting my dogs nails. Everytime she cuts Ripley's nails Ripley growls at her but at the same time she is wagging her tail just to tell her that it's okay. Thank you for taking such good care of my dog Brianna.

I had an amazing experience at Petco recently! I went to have my small senior dog groomed for the first time. I had just adopted her from an elderly gentleman who is now unable to provide her with proper care. I was terrified of her reaction, and apparently, it showed 😬 The whole staff were completely understanding and took extra time to reassure me and to make sure that my pet was comfortable. Excellent, superb job overall! I would recommend this store and it’s staff to anyone & everyone. Kindness & patience goes a long way in this day in age. Thanks, Petco! A+++

I always get friendly and helpful service. I oten use pick up service and it is always quite fast. Prices are comparable to another local pet supply store; however, I never get in-store coupons for the products.

Petco's Vital Pet program is a rip off and just a gimmick to get you to come to the store and spend money (or buy online). I specifically asked if I could cancel anytime and I was told yes. But it is not true. You have to commit for 1 yr and the program has an auto re-new feature that you have to intentionally turn off. I was also told that if you have 3 or more pets, it was $17.99/month. But they neglected to say it is $17.99 for EACH pet. My pets are very particular with their food. I was told Petco carries the brand of food I buy. Which was true, but Petco doesn't carry the specific flavors they will eat. When the time is up, I will not be setting foot in that store again. Their prices are too high and I can get everything I need some place else at a much cheaper price without deceit.

They don't often have what I need but my dog loves sniffing around here. I wish staff would be more enthusiastic with greeting dogs. Mine loves it and seeks out staff for attention (and treats!) yet she's often ignored.Good selection of dog accessories and some super cute clothes!

The associate that helped me was very helpful in answering my questions as we become first time puppy owners. They also went out of their way to give me the best possible deal and sign me up for the rewards program to get me the best possible return.They listened and walked me through the best food for our pup, walked us through the puppy trainings, and various things we'll need for the first time upon getting her.

The petco in Middletown, RI does not have any managers who know what they are doing. The either don't have the power to override an issue or don't care. Their answer is call corporate. I've had too many issues with simple transactions to bother with calling their 1-800 number. I'm just going to shop elsewhere. A manager should within reason be able to solve your issues in store. You should not have to call their 1-800 number.

I have always gone here for things for my pets and grooming. Today I wanted to go in to grab some things and as I am checking out I like to scan the teams into the app to see if there is a difference. There was no one in line behind me and as I am trying to scan the items into my app the cashier was snatching the items out of my hand rushing me and giving me an attitude. Not only was she being nasty but the cashier behind her which I am pretty sure is a manager was so dismissive and rude too….. Got me acting like a Karen.

Wonderful pet haven. The store could be a bit cleaner. Staff are wonderful and knowledgeable and genuinely seem to enjoy working here. The staff are really helpful deciding what pet is great for your home. I went in for a chinchilla and came out with a family friendly guinea pig. I will return whenever I'm looking for a new pet.

After a negative experience at a local $$$$$ salon a friend suggested we try Pet Co. The team at the Middletown Pet Co were amazing! Our two standard golden doodles look and smell amazing! Thank you team for restoring our faith in having our furbabies groomed. Great job!

Came in to buy stuff for the families first aquarium, did a little research but there was so much info. Connor pointed me in the right direction for our setup and helped my kids pick out there first fish. He was very knowledgeable and helpful, which were already excited to pick up some more. Easy to order/pay online was easy. Went to the store to get, just showed email and the associate got it for me. They also told me of the app, every 7 bags of food you buy, the 8th one is free. Thought that was great to know!

I believe the person name is Matt. He was very nice and personal. He was very helpful and I enjoyed my time in there. My son and I went in to pick up a name tag for our cat and we chatted with him about the pets in the store. He was very happy to acknowledge us and help us look at the pets even though we weren’t there for purchasing a pet. My son was happy too. I just want Matt acknowledged for his genuine work. I am disappointed by the behavior of the employees of this store, most notably Christina. It is a shame to know that shoppers at this location are treated a certain way based on the complexion of their skin. It is blatant and obvious, racism is alive and well. How unfortunate when the person mistreated is a former Petco employee. Maybe Petco should enlist a cultural competency education requirement for employees when interacting with customers or just basic customer service skills. My concerns will not end here, I will contact regional offices, and corporate offices and whomever else is necessary to end such behaviors. Be careful with this store if you are not the preferred demographic.
