Beyond wonderful experience! I got my two boys groomed and their groomer Erika did such a great job. My boys didn’t seem stressed at all. You can also tell the love she has for pups in the way she interacts with them, will 100% be returning.

Canine Behavioral Services is incredible! Brian and his staff worked with my two dogs to get them more comfortable around other people and dogs. They also guided us on behaviors to implement at home to create a more balanced life for each of them. Most importantly, these techniques helped the dogs become comfortable and confident in our home when we welcomed a baby. With the help from Canine Behavioral Services, this transition happened nearly seamlessly, which I am confident would not have happened without Brian’s help. I cannot say enough great things about Canine Behavioral Services, they have created such positive change in my two dogs and allowed for them to grow and flourish in our home! Brian continues to support us even after the completion of the program which has been incredibly helpful as we continue to maintain a balanced household for the dogs.

I brought my two pups here because the groomer Erika is the only person I bring my babies to! I’ve brought my two to her since their first grooms and they love her! They always love their appointments because she is super gentle with them, they come home smelling amazing and looking perfect every time!! Canine Behavioral Services is super affordable and straight forward with the whole process. Super easy to get an appointment and you don’t have to worry about picking a time because they have a specified drop off time frame which made it super easy to not have to stress! The puppies loved their first visit there and loved seeing Erika again!

I had the absolute best experience bringing my great Pyrenees here. She is outside all day she is off leash as we live on some acres in the woods. She was very matted ! I attempted to groom myself but pretty sure I made things worse. My poor pup. You get to meet the groomer when you get there and talk about expectations. She's does a once over of the dog to give her professional opinion. They made sure to inform me of uncharges I may face. They proceeded to explain why I may face them. Everyone was dummied down which I wanted and appreciated. My pup was beyond repair so ultimately needed to be shaved down she looks like a q-tip but that is owners faults for allowing her to be bad enough she needed a shave!!! The groomer shaved her very evenly. I was impressed with the communication throughout this entire process and I am thankful they have my girl feeling a bit better. Now when her ugly duckling stage is over we will be making her reoccurring appointments to come see our new friends at canine behavior !!!

I had decided to send my 10 year old and 13 week old to Brian out of desperation because my older dog was acting aggressive towards the puppy in a way that I am fairly certain she would have killed him, and someone would have gotten bit. I was traveling for work, my house was a dog super max prison, and I was worried. I decided to send the dogs to Brian so my family didn't have to manage the dogs. Arya was there for a while and Ranger joined eventually. The dogs seemed to be able to coexist at Brian's house, but I am not sure how much time they spent together. Arya did well with Brian's male dog, Rufus. We learned things along the way that were useful. We learned that she really enjoyed other dogs and that I would have to be very calm introducing her to other dogs. But feasible. Ranger had good dog experiences during a formative period, which is important to take into consideration. The day the dogs returned to our home was a major blow that we did not anticipate. Arya basically reacted like she did before being at Brian's house. Not knowing what to do, we had Brian take her back and decided to hold on to Ranger and think about things. My husband and I felt like we had been punched in the gut. Brian did keep Arya for about 2 weeks longer, which was good because it gave us time with Ranger and for him to get a little bigger. I had to coax Brian to try some things with Arya and my that would help ME figure out what I needed to do. Then both dogs came home. For weeks I slowly introduced the dogs and did lots of counter conditioning. I emailed Brian. He would usually respond. He gave me advice, but it was really up to me to figure out how to implement it. I am sure that I did 100 things wrong along the way, but I was really winging it and on my own. The contract is very one sided, so I was out a good chunk of money and barely ahead of where I was before I dropped them off. After a few email exchanges, I decided that I didn't seem to grasp the higher level details of what Brian was communicating and just did the best I could. The dogs were dropped off together on Jan 5. Arya returned home for good on Jan 19. It's March 19 and they are sleeping next to me, and it's been about 3-4 weeks since they were physically introduced. This service did allow me to see that Arya could be around other dogs, and that gave me confidence to work through the issue. Knowing how she behaved at Brian's with other dogs was helpful. Ranger having good dog experiences, and not getting barked at or have something traumatic happen at 13-16 weeks was probably a really good thing for his development (i.e. instead of being home with Arya). Brian is great with dogs. He has command and his pack can be very useful. His staff are very friendly and helpful. Brian is responsive to emails, but I wish his tone with me wasn't so short. I am not a dog trainer, if I was, I wouldn't have sought out him in the first place, so transitioning dog from Brian back to owner is important. I feel like my situation was a little usual and warranted some extra email exchange to give me confidence. This was a challenging situation and we both went into it being way too optimistic. It's a good thing that my family and I stuck it out. I feel like once the dogs were home together it was really on me to figure things out, which I didn't expect. So, I think for some circumstances and dogs, it works well but it's possible that the training and experience the dogs have at Brian's will not immediately translate or be adopted when they arrive home.

I dropped my Yellow English Lab, Bailey, off on 8/5, for a month long behavioral training. So far the experience has been relatively positive, although the contract was ridiculously one sided. I will update after she comes home, and again after her follow up.***update a month after her drop off for 30 day training***Bailey was brought home after a month long board/train session by Thomas from Canine Behavioral Services. We had about a half hour long discussion about her training, progress and future needs. After a rest break outside, she was brought in and demonstrated what I must call a night and day difference from her prior behavior. At this time we were informed what her future treatment should entail, and how to move forward with her. Thomas gets 5 stars from us, as he was friendly, patient and informative. Bailey was 80% where we wanted her to be, WITH HIM. Thomas gave us all of the tools, in person and via email, to work on getting to the same level with her. It has to be noted...she had been living in a kennel and yard environment for a month. Her transition back to a home environment was apparent. She never had the week of home based living that was contracted due to the owner, Brian, experiencing medical issues. We are over 75% satisfied with our dealings with CBS so far. They kept our dog alive, socialized her with other dogs and taught her to sit for a treat. 24 hours in, and we have to say she went from a terror to a pleasure. Some of this was due to her being subjected to zero affection for a month. She mostly aims to please now. I will post further updates down the line.***Update a month later after follow up two day stay.***I dropped Bailey off with six portions of food, (lunch and dinner day one, three meals day two, breakfast day three) and as always reminded that she was on a vet directed diet of one cup per meal, three times per day. She is large for her breed and gender. I picked her up this morning and had three meals returned to me and was told she hadn't eaten yet today. That would mean that she skipped a meal both days. When she first came home she was noticeably skinnier, but I attributed it to the fact that she had extra exercise during her month long stay. After this morning, however, I would have to assume that she was fed twice a day throughout her stay. I have to knock off two stars for this, as I was assured that she would eat three times per day every day.As far as overall effectiveness of her stay...she has great impulse control and we got plenty of advice to reinforce impulse and recall. She came home still pulling like a bull on the leash and jumping up on people (Thomas included), and told that would have cost us more money for an enhanced plan.Bottom line...we needed the month long break from her rowdy behavior, but for thirty-five hundred dollars I would have thought it fair for her to be fed properly and loose lease trained. We ended up at about 25% satisfied considering the amount of money we spent vs the results and our dog's care that we are aware of.

When my dad had a major stroke, we adopted his Standard Poodle, Viola, so he could still have her in his family. We already had three dogs - two older standard poodles (both male) and a young, sassy Bichon named Ripple (female). Well, Ripple didn’t like having another girl in the house and Viola and Ripple just didn’t like each other much. They would both fight and with the size difference, this was not a good development. We tried EVERYTHING to get them to live peacefully together (or at least not brawl) but nothing was working. Then we found Brian Manning and Canine Behavioral Services and their pack cohesion program! Ripple came home after her first round of training and showed no aggression towards dogs - this was a huge change! And now both Viola and Ripple are learning together which just makes me so happy as we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you, Brian and team! Attaching some photos of their training!

How and where do I even begin? Brian, Laura and the rest of this amazing team are the only people I would ever fully trust with my dog. When my husband and I adopted our cattle dog 4 years ago, we told ourselves we would do everything we could to have the most well balanced and behaved dog possible. We took her to multiple trainers and signed her up for all the classes, but some problems were just over everyone's heads and we didn't know what to do. She was an extremely reactive and anxious dog, and we knew we needed more help than just basic obedience and positive reinforcement training. For us, nothing was working and it became this huge weight on our shoulders. We didn't want her to live her life in stress and fear.We came across Canine Behavioral Services and were reading about their program and how they work to change your dogs way of thinking, rather than just obedience training. We were sold! Then, we saw it was a board and train program and we were NERVOUS. Could we trust these people? What if they used hurtful training methods behind our backs? What if the facility was loud and dirty? What if our dog came home sick or underweight? We have heard crazy horror stories, and this made us worry. One phone call with Laura completely put us at ease. She was kind, patient and answered every single question I had, and she even scheduled a second phone call with us just to put our minds at ease and ensure us that we were making the right decisionWhen the time came to drop Tilly off for her 6 week board and train, this was my first time visiting the facility and I was in total disbelief. It was QUIET. I didn't hear a SINGLE dog barking. All these dogs they have and NONE of them were barking like crazy when my car pulled in? That tells me they're doing something right, and I knew then that this was the right decision. We got weekly updates through Facebook, and they kept in contact with us regularly to let us know how things were going. At one point, Tilly was licking and scratching her feet a lot, and they were immediate to reach out and let us know what was happening, not a lot of places would be so on top of these things! Now to her training. Once she came home, Brian gave us a rundown and essentially trained us humans on what we had to do. It was overwhelming, but he assured us that they would be there for us any time we have questions, and they have been. I've sent them SO many emails and they always respond unjudgementally.Us humans have a lot of work to do, but in the month she's been home, we have seen a DRASTIC improvement in her behavior! No more barking fits, no more jumping on guests, her recall is phenomenal, her loose leash skills have significantly improved, and her reactivity has improved so much!Sending her to their 6 week board and train program was the best decision we have ever made, it's improved not only our dogs quality of life, but ours. Their approach to dog training is so much better than your basic obedience training, and I would recommend every dog owner out there send their dog here, its WORTH IT.If we ever get another dog in the future, they'll see Canine Behavioral Services before they even see their new home, that's how great this place is.They have a poster on the wall inside their facility, it reads "make the right choice, not the easy one" and I think that sums up this experience beautifully ❤️

First let me say, I have a high maintenance breed who needs a close eye kept on him. He is a lot of work at times. I have tried a few other kennels over the years but have been lucky to be referred to Canine Behavioral Services.Oscar’s recent stay (one of many) was a 10 day stretch and he wasn’t feeling good about a week in. The communication back to me was prompt, detailed and done with care. I was given many options as to how to handle the situation from a far and knew immediately this facility was going to do everything in their power to make sure he got better. They cared for Oscar as if he was the only dog in their care, meanwhile I’m sure they were at or close to capacity.Laura was my contact and knows the dogs (as does everyone there) as if these dogs belonged to them. They care for your dogs at this facility with love. Each dog gets what is best for them. It is apparent that their number one concern is the health and safety of our pets. It comes with a huge responsibility and they rise to the occasion. Speaking from experience, not all kennels handle a sick pet this way.I can’t recommend Canine Behavioral Services enough. This comes with years of experience of owning and boarding dogs. Dogs are family and should be treated as such. Thank you Laura, Brian and everyone at your facility for treating Oscar just like he was a part of your family.

Brian and his team truly transformed our dog, and we’ll be forever grateful. When we got Marshall in September 2021, he was a one-year-old, 70-pound rescue from the south who was terrified and unsure about how to interact with the world. He would chew on shoes and the coffee table, jump up on people, nip my arms to the point of bruising whenever he was excited, and cower and bark at just about everything—strangers, garbage cans, water fountains, bikes, sounds from our downstairs neighbors, you name it.Entirely overwhelmed, we sent Marshall to CBS for their most intensive training program, and when he came back six weeks later, the differences were obvious. Brian’s use of pack training and positive reinforcement had worked wonders on Marshall, but Brian made clear there was still room for improvement, since Marshall had missed key socialization milestones when he was a puppy. To further Marshall’s progress, Brian gave us incredible tools (including training exercises, toy and book recommendations, and his continuing guidance whenever we need it).Fast forward to now (after lots of love, at-home training, and many short stints at CBS for boarding to reinforce positive behaviors and hang out with his buddies), Marshall is a dog transformed. He’s the perfect work-from-home companion, has impeccable leash manners, interacts beautifully with other dogs, and has even started seeing human strangers as potential friends. We had guests over recently, and they were astonished at how relaxed and comfortable Marshall has become. It’s a reality I truly couldn’t have imagined 1.5 years ago.Getting Marshall here has been a hard journey, but it’s also been incredibly rewarding, and it wouldn’t have been possible without CBS’s belief in Marshall and in us. Thank you SO much for helping us build such a wonderful life with our guy Marsh!

I wish there was an option to give Canine Behavioral Services more than 5 stars! CBS saved our relationship with our dog Moose. At 9 months old Moose had severe separation anxiety. He was a pandemic dog who was use to being with us all the time because we didn’t really have anywhere to go. When it came time to leave him he would bark for hours in his crate (much to the dismay of our neighbors). His anxiety got progressively worse and left him constantly barking if he was separated from us by a closed door or a gate in the house. At the time I was 6 months pregnant and ready to loose my mind. How could I have a sleeping baby and a giant barking dog in the same house? I looked into a lot of local trainers and wasn’t sold on anything they told me. When I reached out most just sent me a generic email back quoting dog training basics that had nothing to do with our separation anxiety issue. Brian and his team came to our rescue. Even before deciding to send Moose to the 30 day Canine Behavior Training program Brian was in contact with me multiple times via email. He discussed his training tactics in depth, answered all of my questions and instilled confidence in me that Moose would be in good hands and become the best dog he could be by the end of the training. We sent Moose to the 30 day Canine Behavioral Training program and even though I cried the whole way home I knew Moose was in good hands. We watched Moose’s progress through pictures and videos on their Facebook page as well as stayed in email contact. When Brian brought Moose home to us we were amazed. Brian spent a few hours with us teaching us how to handle and continue to train Moose and let him know that now we are in charge. We now had a dog that would rest quietly in his crate and willing go in for a treat. Brian taught us how to “loose leash” walk with Moose meaning I could now walk him without all 80lbs of him dragging pregnant me down the road.Brian left us with training instructions and was available to us for training and behavior questions that we came across in the process. Moose did great at home with us and continues to improve. During our follow up in home session with Brian we learned even more techniques to further train Moose as he learns new tricks and good behaviors.I’m sure most people’s hesitation for enrolling their dog in this type of training is the cost but for us it was worth every penny to now have a great relationship with our dog that will last his lifetime. On top of the amazing training Brian and his team also were so accommodating when we went to the hospital to have a baby. Since no one ever knows when a baby will arrive they allowed us to change our reservation and extend it when we spent a few extra days in the hospital without any issue or worry about Moose. We knew he was being well taken care of while we were gone.We plan to continue to use the boarding and training services at Canine Behavioral Services for Moose and when it comes time to add another puppy to our family we will start training with Canine Behavioral Services right away.Thank you for everything you’ve done for our family!

We just picked Arlo up from his 3rd family sleep over service. Brain, Laura and all the amazing trainers at Canine Behavioral Services have given us our life back with our sweet Arlo Boy.I'm not sure anyone else in the world would call Arlo sweet. This dog has had it rough...no pun intended. He was only 3 weeks old when he was taken from his mother and not properly weened. He then had a horrible accident at 6 months old where he was hit in the head and knocked out cold and lost 6 of his teeth.Arlo has anxiety and fear-based aggression beyond anything myself or my husband know how to handle. He has attacked and sent a dog to the hospital. He has been aggressive towards humans and animals. I honestly don't believe he would still be with us if we hadn't found the 6-week board and train program that Brian offers. Arlo is a different dog. He is so much calmer and happier. He no longer has aggression in the house but still has reactive aggression that we are working on outside of the house and in the car. Brian has been to our house to train us all, multiple times, and would come again, if we needed him. There isn't one other place on earth we would leave Arlo with or trust Arlo to learn from but Brian and his wonderful trainers. Arlo has a little way to go but every time we bring him to Brian, Arlo comes home better. My husband and I have a little way to go to be more consistent with what Brian has taught us to do, but Brian didn't hesitate to take on Arlo and my husband and myself. We thank God for him!!! To be continued.....Arlo is going back for a longer sleepover stay and extra training. I'm so thankful that the training for all of us is always available. I'd give them all 50 stars if I could, but it only goes up to 5 *****

I sent my dog(s) for PCT Level 1 training from Oct 2020-Jan 2021. My experience with Brian and the entire Canine Behavioral services team over the past few months has been nothing short of amazing! My dog Benny, a 3 year old retriever mix who was rescued from a hoarding situation and diagnosed with global fear and anxiety went to Canine Behavioral Services for Pack cohesion training level 1, where he was there for the in patient behavioral rehabilitation and then was joined at the end by our other pup Moby. Benny is an extremely loving dog with very severe behavioral issues that included excessive accidents in the house, and absolute refusal to go outside and nonstop shaking whenever he encountered someone new. He also struggled greatly with other dogs and in the two years I had him I never once, not even at crowded dog parks, saw him engage in play with another dog.Brian extended Benny’s stay twice, once when it was clear that he could benefit from additional training and once due to bad weather on a previously scheduled travel day. Benny stayed with the pack for 10 weeks instead of 6, at no additional cost to me. Canine Behavioral Services is not a magical solution to our problems that is going to return a perfectly normal and behaved dog at the end of the program. Helping your dog to become more calm and balanced requires a large commitment of time and patience from the humans involved as well, and Brian is explicit and upfront about this every step of the way. I’m sure there are other trainers out there who have programs comparable to Brians, however one thing you won’t find other places is how clear and upfront Brian is. He responds super quickly to all emails and responses are always extensive and clearly well thought out. He’ll answer what you may view as a simple question with a multiple paragraph response to make sure that you understand fully. Brian is not going to sugar coat anything and for me it was a huge plus to know that I was getting completely accurate non embellished information about my dogs progress. This attitude might not be for everyone but Brian was upfront about his communication style and it was one of the reasons that I specifically chose his program for my dog.For the first time in two years I have been able to see my dog play with other dogs and enjoy being outside. I have also been able to take him on walks for miles each day, and before he went to Brian I was lucky if I could walk him 5 feet. Benny still has problems but he is leaps and bounds above what he was before the program. I don’t know what the future holds in regards to my ability to provide my dog the support and environment that he needs to thrive, but I do know that I would send him back to Brian and his team in a heartbeat.

Several years ago my wife and I brought our two pups here to train them to get along together. We were encouraged to purchase a $6-7,000 program where each dog went there for two weeks and then the two dogs went for training together for an additional week. After Years of living with these dogs and observing them, as well as replaying the training and post training I will say this. The methods used to train the dogs were either rushed and therefore very harsh in order to produce quick results, resulting in both of my dogs coming back with a number of anxieties which they did not have prior to this training. Though we have managed through them, at almost 8 years old they still have them both. One of them, extreme fear of metal to metal noise, came from a technique where the dog trainer slams the dog cage and / or throws the bowl at the dog cage. We witnessed Brian doing this in front of us in our own home, leaving the dog shaking and petrified. Also, Brian was not very friendly or patient and rushed through out follow up visits, which paying this kind of money, to me In unacceptable. Needless to say we did not use Brian for follow up training and went elsewhere for follow up training. Both the new trainer and my vet agree that the training methods were brute and inhumane. This I am sure is a matter of opinion. But the anxieties of my dogs and our personal and direct experiences with Brian remain. I would say that if you are able to train your dog without leaving them with someone else not knowing what they’re going to do to your dog and how that will affect them long term, please explore that option fully first. I will never make that mistake again, with any trainer.

Our family has used the services provided by Brian and the great folks at CBS for almost a decade now. We’ve taken advantage of behavioral training, sleep overs and many of the add on services for our multiple dogs through the years. Not only have we been exceptionally pleased with the services provided but grateful for all the ways Brian and his team go above and beyond. They’ve rejoiced with us when we have had successes and grieved with us when we’ve said goodbye to our dear four-legged friends. We know when we drop our dogs off at CBS they are truly being cared for by folks who are invested in giving them their best. If you’re looking to live life with a truly well balanced dog and have a coach that helps you understand how to keep them that way….call Brian.

Brian and the trainers at Canine Behavioral Services helped our 3.5 year old chihuahua mix, Charlie become a more balanced dog while helping us become the owners that Charlie needed us to be.Charlie is a rescue from Tennessee and we do not know his background. Charlie was approximately two years old when we welcomed him into our home, and even though he loved us and we loved him, he was extremely fearful of our family, friends, and other dogs. His behavior created some awkward situations. He would bark incessantly at people or attempt to nip if people got too close to him. We had hoped that he’d eventually warm up to friends and family or “grow out” of his behavior, but that never happened. He was so scared. We had tried in-home training sessions with another trainer, who helped, but we soon realized that Charlie needed more time and expertise than we could provide him on our own. After chatting with friends who had success with Canine Behavioral Services, we knew it was time to make the commitment and help Charlie.Charlie was enrolled in the In-Patient Rehab/Pack Cohesion program (our 7.5 year old toy poodle mix, Pia, joined him for the final two weeks). Brian’s trainers and the pack have truly help Charlie become a more confident, balanced dog. We still have work to do with him as his owners, but CBSI has laid the foundation. We’ve been putting in the work at home and Charlie continues to show great progress. Charlie is calmer and less reactive. When he sees triggers in his environment on walks, he is able to re-focus once we implement the tricks Brian has taught us. Our friends, family, and neighbors have all noticed a positive change in Charlie and we couldn’t be happier. We cannot stress enough how beneficial the education CBSI provided us as owners. Before this experience, we admittedly were sending Charlie mixed signals of what we wanted from him. We wanted to help him, but didn’t know how. The trainers and the Pack at CBSI worked with Charlie and boosted his confidence (Ricky is his favorite)! Brian told us exactly what Charlie needed from us as owners and how to provide that.If you you believe that your dog deserves to be happy, secure, and balanced, Brian and the team at Canine Behavioral Services will help you and your best pal reach that goal. The knowledge they provide will make you and your dog a better pack at home!Cait & SteveJohnston, RI

Omg, the young lady I spoke with was so understanding and non judgemental about what had occurred with myb2 dogs and the help I am seeking for my newly adopted shelter female husky mix.I received from Brian a quote and what to expect. This put my mind a bit at ease.

Brian and the team at Canine Behavioral Services have worked wonders for my dogs and I. I began working with CBS about 6 years ago when I adopted a husky mix who suffered from high anxiety and aggression around other dogs. Brian was able to work with her and help her to become a much more balanced and secure dog, but more importantly placed a high emphasis on ensuring that my husband and I had the knowledge and resources moving forward to stay consistent in her training and continue to allow Nym to be the happiest and most secure version of herself.Since initially working with Brian, our dog has been a regular for overnight boarding and grooming visits. Brian and the team have continued to show us a high level of support, and even went above and beyond to help us navigate the process of adding a second dog to our family. I would happily make the investment in these services again and can't recommend this place enough.

I am by no means a review type person. This is in fact my first one! I felt so compelled after my experience with Brian, that i had to share. My story is like most, I had a puppy that i wanted to start off on the right foot. But I wasn't willing to send my baby just anywhere. After some research, and some conversations, we decided on CBS. Boy am I glad we did. We enrolled Harper in a puppy training program. Brian taught our baby how to act to put it simply. Harper, our baby Giant Schnauzer, returned home very calm and eager to please us. She has been super delightful to have around friends, with us often getting compliments about her behavior. Most people cant believe she such a young puppy because her behavior is so calm. Her drive to play bite, unlike most puppies, is almost zero! She sits naturally and awaits our next move every single day! And her loose leash walking is damn near perfect! Upon Harpers return home, Brian gave us a few hours of one on one training to train us (the humans) on how to act and expect certain things. In that time I learned I was a tad old fashioned in my ways. Brian's approach is a much calmer, easier, positive way to achieve good results. I could brag for hours quite honestly. With that said, I saved the best part for last. I judge a place on how happy my dog is to return there. Harper whines and wiggles her little tail and butt in joy, as we pull in the driveway. That alone tells me the fun she has, and what kind of environment Brian and his team created! Harper will be back to visit the crew often! We look forward to our future at CBS

My 20 month old male, neutered Great Dane named Dalvin spent 8 weeks at Canine Behavioral Services with Brian and his staff. Before going there he would not come on command, was super resource aggressive when grabbing something he did not want to give up, was growling and showing his teeth and eventually lunging at me, my son and wife. He would not sit before going outside, he would not sit before being served his food, would jump on people coming in through the door whether us or strangers, climbed all over the furniture. All of that is gone. He sits before I place his food down, sits before going out a door, sits and does not come for a treat unless told to COME, no more pulling while being walked. He actually walked side by side with my neighbors dog on a walk for a half mile without even giving him any attention after an introduction. Does not take me for a walk, I walk him.I never ever thought I would get back such a well balanced, relaxed dog like I got back after 8 weeks. Brian spent 3 hours at my home with a rehome session training me, my wife, daughter and son how to react and act towards Dalvin in certain situations. No more couch time, no roaming the home or counter surfing (well, sometimes but immediately corrected) he is either in his crate, outside running around, being trained in home or on his bed.I can't thank Brian enough, I would have paid double if I knew Dalvin was going to come back this well trained. Do not go anywhere else.Thank you Brian and your staff at Canine Behavioral Services !!!!!!

Let me start by saying that I've owned a few big dogs in the past, and that my current pup is the most exuberant, spirited, intelligent, and strong-willed of the dogs I've had. He has not one streak of aggression or meanness, but he is a handful. Normally, I am not a huge fan of behaviorism. I hold onto my own fantasy that I can 'love' a dog into wanting to please me. Brian Manning has helped me realize that this is both hogwash and that there are many ways to 'love' a dog. When I see Nigel under his command, my dog is so happy and eager to please, and he can be readily controlled. My way, I get exhausted because he pulls me too hard and I can't control him. I had to admit that I am certainly getting nowhere fast with Nigel. So for the first several weeks, I just had refused to really listen and absorb what Brian had tried to teach me about training Nigel. Now, I am ready to listen and receive his instruction. And, it is excellent instruction that works!! My dog was too over-stimulated and impulsive and out of control. He needs to know who is in charge and what the rules are. This is what Brian has taught me to do with his loose leashing walks and his training that emphasizes having the dog's butt touch the ground and stay until he is released.....before getting anything he wants, even going out the front door for a walk. Yes, I resisted what Brian had to teach. But, now I see I was foolish to do so. His way of working with Nigel is so clear; so good for the dog (in that he no longer has to get so over-excited for no reason) and allows me to be in control without becoming exhausted and losing my battle. With Brian, nothing with the dog is a 'battle'. It is all simple and always the same. This is what a dog needs! I would highly recommend Canine Behavioral Services to train any dog: their method gets excellent results and is easy to learn (once the owner is ready to listen and learn!) Brian is a clear teacher; he knows and he loves dogs; and he clearly is able to see what each dog needs to work on to be better behaved. I've learned that I am not doing my dog any favors by trying to reason with him and get his 'buy in' because he knows I 'love' him. That's a crock! My dog has to learn to obey because I practice consistently and repeatedly the same simple steps so that he gets a clear and consistent message and knows how to act with me in order to get what he wants. I'm still working at it because I am a challenging owner!....and Nigel is a spirited dog. But, we are well on our way now, thanks to Brian Manning. As well, I will add, we have Nigel board at CBS whenever we are going away.....for up to two weeks at a time. We can feel secure that he is well cared for and given lots of play time with other dogs outside. His tail is always wagging when we drive in the driveway. While he boards there, I can also add additional training services to be sure he keeps up with the program during the time I am away. Believe me when I say, he is so happy and ready to behave well. It is me that I am still working on. Brian has a plan for it though. And, we are making progress!

We have been taking our Hound mix Lincoln here since he was a puppy, he's now almost 2 years old. He's been there for training, boarding and grooming.Very professional staff who greets you with a smile when you drop them off and when you are picking them up. Great place for the pups to socialize and have fun. Safe and secure, first place I haven't had to worry about leaving him. We would highly recommend Canine Behavioral Services. Sherri D.

CBS was the best thing that happened to our dog, Jack, and us. Mostly, I think CBS taught us (the humans) how to better understand Jack and to be better leaders for him. Since Jack attended the 6-week program and his rehome session, our relationship with him has changed drastically. He is now more confident and less "reactive." We (the humans) have also learned how to help keep Jack out of situations that would lead him to make bad decisions. We thank Brian and his awesome staff for their help. We highly recommend CBS to help any dog with behavioral issues.

My puppy Harper is turning 1 year old this month. I decided to get her in March 2020 after many, many years of having a household without a dog. We wanted a well behaved dog and she seemed to be doing ok for the most part but there were some behaviors that we just couldn’t get under control by ourselves. We needed some help. My husband knew a couple of people who trained dogs, one of them being Brian. We contacted someone else first and had one session with them. There were a couple of things that the trainer mentioned doing that I wasn’t crazy about. So, I decided to review Brian’s website and I really liked the philosophy. Harper was having some difficulties with jumping, play biting, barking and resource guarding. We started with the 2 week puppy manners board and train program. It was hard sending her away for 2 weeks when I had just gotten her. But, we did it and felt that she came back a calmer pup. Brian spent 2 hours training us to work with her when he brought her home. We felt that we were off to a good start. We drifted some in our training with Harper and recently had a refresher session with Brian to keep us on the right path. He is upfront and honest with his communication keeping your dog’s needs in the forefront. Harper also attends doggy daycare twice a week. I feel happy and relaxed knowing that when Harper is at daycare she is well taken care of and is having fun. I love seeing the pictures of the pups on the face book page. I have had many dogs over the years and thought that getting a new puppy wouldn’t be that difficult. It was a challenge and I haven’t always done everything correct, so I am thankful that I have had the guidance and support of Brian and all his staff at CBS to help Harper become a well behaved and well balanced dog. I look forward to Brian staying involved with Harper and us knowing that he will always be there to help if we need him.Happy dog owner and client Allison Haines

Working with Brian and Canine Behavioral Services was the best decision we made when we adopted our puppy, Bailey!!! I knew that it was important for us to be on the same page when training our new dog but we didn’t know how. Brian came to our home and worked with all of us, training us to give Bailey the best start. He spoke to and worked directly with our 8 year old son, teaching him what to do and not to do with Bailey. We also sent Bailey to the 2 week puppy training offered by CBS. We could tell how much Bailey learned as soon as she returned home. I highly recommend Brian and his staff at CBS!!!

Absolutely the best! We introduced a puppy to our 3 dog home and the fur began flying. We found Brian at CBS, Inc. and had them “committed” what a difference upon their return. Our puppy had no impulse control before and now she is so much better and so are we. We will continue to use all the tools Brian gave us along with the head start training he did to made our home a peaceful pack once again. Many sleepover for Jill in her future.

It was back in 2015 that I first contacted Brian at Canine Behavioral Services to work with our new Cavachon puppy named Emma. We got Emma as a 12-week old runt of the litter and after a few weeks it became very clear that we needed some professional assistance to get Emma going in the right direction. From housebreaking to crate training, leash walking, nuisance barking, and submissive urination, Emma was afraid of everything and it was pretty challenging to figure out how to help his little 7lb cutie with the skills that we have. This is when I found Brian and contacted him for help. Emma spent some time with Brian and his staff and was boarded a few times when we went on vacation. The transformation this dog made under Brian’s care and instruction was nothing less than remarkable. By following through on Brian’s re-homing training, Emma has become the amazing dog we knew she would. She is a model leash walker, unafraid of other dogs, never exits a door without be told she can, doesn’t jump on guests, the furniture or anything she’s not invited on. When she wants your attention, she will sit and look at you, waiting patiently for you to acknowledge her. She’s the best, and based on this experience I knew If we ever got another dog I would be reaching out to Brian for his guidance once again. That day came in December when we rescued our newest family member name Ivory. Ivory, a shepherd lab mix, was rescued from Alabama and is about 9 months old. We rescued her on November 28, 2020 and by December 1st I knew this gentle, nervous girl needed the help Canine Behavioral Services could provide.Ivory was insecure and afraid of everything. She wouldn’t leave the house. Getting her to go outside to go to the bathroom was an act of frustration. Using treats and all the positivity in the world wouldn’t get her to budge. On a leash, she would plop herself down and put on the breaks. She wouldn’t move. I’d have to lift her up and carry her to the backyard, so at that point I reached out to Brian and scheduled a board and train because I knew that Brian and the staff would provide the right guidance and environment for Ivory to find balance and begin to thrive. I dropped her off on December 9, carrying her out of the car and by her re-homing session on December 23rd a calmer, more confident dog was reunited with us.As guilty as you might feel dropping your dog off for two-weeks or more, when you get them back you realize you made the right decision and wish you would have done it sooner.Brian is extremely thorough and thoughtful in replying to your emails and the daily updates with pictures on the company website and Facebook gives you a peek into the progress your dog is making. The day he brought Ivory back, he spent two whole hours training us to help Ivory continue on with her progress. He also followed the training up with a detailed email of what we went over, the things to continue to work on with Ivory as well as a .pdf so we could print it out and refer to it daily. I will tell you, she’s a different dog today than she was the day we dropped her off. She’s walking on a leash, going to the door when she needs to go to the bathroom, she’s no longer pacing and whining, she’s crate trained, an angel in the car, and she gets along great with the new dogs she’s been interacting with. We just need to make sure we continue on with her education as outlined by Brian so that Ivory can be the be a happy, balanced dog that can thrive in any environment.Today, I have a house with two amazing and well-behaved dogs that probably wouldn’t have been possible if it were left solely to me. I believe in Brian, his training philosophy, and every one of the staff there. Brian has a unique ability to connect with these dogs and has now helped me twice. If you’re in a situation where you’re looking for help too, please don’t hesitate to reach this location. I’m sure you’ll be as pleased and grateful as my family I are!

Canine Behavioral Services arrived on time to pick up 2 dogs for bathing. We chatted about my German Shepherd Dog, Gunny's, weight at 125 pounds. Gunny had always been big, even as a puppy. And he was lazy! CBS' Brian Manning explained that the weight issue would be a problem later in his life and was affecting him now albeit being lazy. Brian invited Gunny to stay at CBS for 2 months. When Gunny returned, he was not only 20 pounds lighter and more energetic, but was more well behaved on the leash. Brian and his staff work tirelessly for the health and wellness of our dog(s). Working around my schedule, CBS makes regular housecalls for continued training at an affordable price.I would recommend Canine Behavioral Services to anyone whose dog is overweight, out of control, jumps, digs, has socialization problems, problems walking on leash, etc.Rich NoceraHope Valley, RI

The time Brian at Canine Behavioral Services has taken with me and my goldendoodle puppy, Lucy, couldn't have been better spent (or more appreciated). Brian was just as wonderful with my Lucy as he was working with me. I feel like he heard my cry for HELP working with my puppy. Brian treated me like family and didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear. I love Lucy but she's like a toddler whose language I still don't speak. Brian has been responsive to my questions (LOTS of them) and patient when I don't quite remember. He's remained so positive even when I'm feeling frustrated. I have a traumatic brain injury so I don't learn as easily and it can take a lot of repetition. For me, learning something new is a slow, difficult process. I feel like Brian is as dedicated and committed as I am to making this training relationship successful. I didn't feel pressured and really enjoyed our training together. I'm so impressed he didn't 'ditch' me after the 2 week training - I know I have his support and that means so much. I'm looking forward to growing alongside Lucy so we both have the best experience as she settles into her new home.
