We had a great campsite location, although maneuvering when we departed was very tight. The bathhouse was only steps away, but the soap dispenser was broken and not repaired until the last day. The showers were great, free, and plenty of hot water. We enjoyed the ice cream at the snack bar, but they had very limited hours (July). The pool and splash pad were well maintained, but the mini golf was unusable and not maintained for what seemed to be a long time. That being said, the entire staff was wonderful: Diane, Ginger and Sharon were fabulous. The campground was proximal to shopping, dining and the RI shore.

We stayed recently for the first time at Whispering Pines Campground. It was close to home, but felt like we were far away from home. The bathrooms were mostly clean, the showers were pretty gross by Saturday night though. However, I was pleased to see they had shelfs in the changing rooms to place your shampoo, razor, etc, and hooks for clothing and towels. The campsites were easy to navigate, we were able to comfortably pull through with a 28 foot rv. The staff was super friendly, the pool and splash pad were well maintained. Check-out was a bit early, noon would have been better. They had live entertainment on Saturday night, activities for the kids, the arcade was great, they had a decent pool table, air hocky, and games. I think the price of the games was too high at a dollar, $.50c would have been rational, the pool table and air hockey were fairly priced at a $1. Overall it was a great weekend. We do large family camp trips each year, we will likely be back.

Campsite was poorly maintained. Got a tent site and had a giant wooden deck that was not usable. Fire pit was tape off with caution tape. I assume we couldn’t use it. Pool was dirty with debris and bathrooms were disgusting. They need to take min golf off their map because it’s falling apart and not being used. Remember it being a great place when I was younger, but has since gone downhill.

We have been campers for over 15 yrs and this is the first negative review I have ever written. The campground is overly crowded and the seasonal campers have WAY too many personal items around their campers, as if all of their worldly possessions are on site. They have advertised many activities but minigolf has been ripped up, shuffle board is not level ( think frostheave at one end), cornhole is locked up, and "stocked" pond is more like a large puddle...maybe a foot deep. The splash pad is amazing but my adult sons are not going to hang out there. In fairness, the cabin looked ok but the campground smelled of trash and sewage, the bathrooms were disgusting, and the office closes very early so I hope you don't need any help. The woman at the desk was super sweet and tried to be as helpful as possible. Thank you for that. We stayed for 5 hrs instead of the 2 overnights; I would not recommend this campground to anyone. Dirtiness when camping breeds illness; really the state should do more frequent random inspections. Activities need to be removed from website since they are non, or barely, functional.Owners have not replied to any of my emails nor did they call to discuss our disappointments. Owners live in Michigan so I guess it doesn't matter to them?

I came here with my family recently. We were on site J-15, and the site was so small that my bump out was hanging onto the next site. I felt uncomfortable going into my cabinet to get my belongings. There is no camp site etiquette either, since a visitor parked onto my sight without a regard. We also could not make the fire because of the over growing vines, and I was scared to set the place on fire. The only real good part of this place was the activities for the kids such as the pool and the playground. We will not be coming back again, very disappointed.

If I could give this park 0 stars I would. Located deep in the woods off the highway, the road to the park entrance is narrow and we prayed that no one would be coming out when we were coming in on the only entrance/exit available. We have 2 a/c's so always book 50amp service. We found our site to be only 30amp. After a long wait, we were told that it HAD been a 50amp till a few weeks ago and but there was a problem and they only had a 30amp to put on that pole. Even if I believed that was true, which I don't, a professional campground would have put us on another site or given us a warning that we'd have to use our adapter to power down to 30amp. There was no cable and antenne TV brought in only 8 minor channels. Worst of all, we were told we had to book 2 nights even though we only needed one traveling through. I could understand that policy if this campground were near highly visited tourism but that is definitely not the case. The receptionist tried to be helpful but she said the owner made all the decisions and her decision was to give us a lousy 10% discount of $15.50 on the deal which after 3 days and 2 phone calls, i have still not recieved. The only good thing I can say about this park is that kids will enjoy the pool and splashdeck and other activities.

Camp sites were very nice, rock base. Roads are pretty tight but we saw plenty of larger rigs navigating them well. Pull through made parking easy. Good pool and arcade. Staff is very friendly, called us when we didn’t arrive by the end of check in and had our map and info waiting for us outside since we came after the office closed. Received a call the next morning just to see if we made it in ok and to ask if everything was good with the site. Great location for Yawgoog and nearby RI attractions. We used it for our base during a dog breed meetup weekend. Would definitely stay again. WiFi was great when it was working, unfortunately it was down a fair amount, but we also had 2 evenings of pretty crazy storms.

Whispering Pines has officially become a terrible campground for anyone outside their seasonal people, who are not very friendly and treat you like an outsider. The front desk women are rude and don’t care about your needs. The sites themselves are what you would expect and good for those who have tents. Unfortunately our site didn’t have power so as we waited for someone to finally show up and fix it, we used a neighboring site that was empty. The woman rudely told us we’re not allowed to use another sites electricity even though we waited a while before someone showed up to fix ours. The bathrooms are always nasty and wet. There was no hot water in the entire bathroom facility near the field so the next bathroom was at the front offices. Those did not have any hooks or shelves like the other one to hang/place your stuff. Those stalls are also so narrow, you can barely get up without having to open the stall door. The rec hall is off putting. The people working aren’t friendly and the food is a hit or miss. There were fries sitting in the heated food box (not sure the name) and was told they were fresh even though they just opened. Of course they were soggy and half warm/half cold. Best thing is the ice cream which can’t be screwed up.This used to be a great place but really has gone down hill. The staff need to all be fired and replaced with nice, helpful people. It’s not worth coming here if you’re not seasonal and spend your money at a better place.

Was very upset with this place. The women that checked us in was very rude and gave that "don't bother me" vibe. And a lot of the neighboring campers were very loud during after hrs (which kept half of my sit awake). The main reason why I went cause it was suppose to have Mini golf and activities for kids but Mini golf was closed for construction (which was not noted on the web sit). Then the snack bar was only open firdays and Saturdays after 6pm (not notes on the sit). And there was no other activities going on other then swimming. The fire wood was way over priced for a bag of 3 pieces that couldn't even stay light and if it did it smoked more then anything. Also the bathrooms got cleaned maybe once during my 3 night 4 day stay.I will not be coming back at all.

Well what an experience! It was my first time on an official campground. My husband & I were visiting a friend who have a camper there #35. We had the best time. The neighboring campers were so friendly. I love how everyone said hello. The tag sale was fun. Before getting there in my research I saw photos with people kayaking but I didn't see that area if it's there. I will definitely be back next year

the site was nice people were very friendly many active to do the only problem I had and I did not tell them about my fault was the sew/gray water drain is to high the only way I could empty out was to keep lifting my drain hose . The neighbor to my site works there and was very friendly and help full getting me back in. I would of gave them 5 star if there sewer line for site 24 was 6" lower

I recently stayed at Whispering Pines Friday June 2nd 2023 to Sunday June 4th 2023, I was disappointed because there were no activities at all, even the mini golf was broken. Friday was a good day so we were in the pool but Saturday was a lil to chilly for the pool so with small kids and nothing going on there wasn't much to do. Online says they have daily activities too so don't be fooled. Also the campsites are probably one of the smallest I've seen. Your literally on top of your neighbors. I hadn't been here in over 20 years and probably won't be back for another 20.

Our stay was nice, the campground is VERY busy and crowded! They PACK them in! Campsites are very close and not much privacy. The staff was good very polite and helpful at check in. This campground I feel is good for folks that camp together. The sites are rock and you will need leveling boards. The 1 pool they have is nice very small for a campground of this size. They could use another pool possibly an adult pool. The campground provides a nice game room and activities for kids. Entertainment at the pavilion (Wicked Rhode) was good. The grounds were clean, and moderately maintained, I think a grounds crew would be a benefit. The access to the park is odd and I do not care for it if you return to the park you have to call and wait for someone to walk down and let you in. I think a huge benefit would be a key access system or something. We went out for the day and felt as we had to watch the clock to be back before 7pm because we did not want top be bothered waiting to call and wait to be let in. inconvenience.

This campground was not the greatest. We booked our sites in February because it was Columbus Day weekend. Somehow we were still given terrible sites. The site that we had was so uneven that the main entrance to my camper was rendered useless because the stairs were about 2 feet from touching the ground. We camp at 12-15 different campgrounds a year and that has never happened. The fire pit from the people behind us was about 4 feet from our camper which had my wife worried all weekend that they would have a fire too hot and damage our camper. Besides the site people drove down the road we were on at about 15-20mph. It was very dangerous. We asked seasonals around us and they said it always happens and no one ever does anything about it. The bathrooms were disgusting. The same cigarette ash was on the floor the entire weekend in the toilet stall and the showers had what looked like the whole summers worth of dirt in them. It was very clear the bathrooms never got cleaned. The lady that ran the office was also not very nice. Just a very rude temperament. I don't think she means it. She is just not nice. Plus they rip you off with $8 bundles of wood that have 5-6 pieces of wood per bundle. The only thing that made this not a 1 star is the seasonals are very nice and there are a lot of activities if you have kids.

I’m editing my review which was over 7 yrs ago and I will base this edit solely on a recent interaction.Staff at book was very helpful and accommodating to my needs. (I messed up while booking and they were able to help me out) Greatly Appreciated! They have a lot of things to occupy the kids, including a small train ride, arts and crafts, music bingo and more. The prices on the items at the store are not jacked up like other campgrounds which I greatly appreciated.Bathrooms were clean and the showers are not coin operated which I’m sure a lot of people appreciate.Don’t feel like cooking or burnt the food like I did, they’ve got food at the snack bar. (Reasonable prices) Chicken fingers, dogs, etc…Their in ground pool was clean and well kept (busy during the day, which is expected on a hot holiday weekend)Honestly, Whispering Pines is a good place to call “home” when your away from home.P/S - If you plan on having a fire, I suggest don’t buy the wood on site unless you have a small axe or saw as the pieces were rather large and hard to lite a fire. (Foolish me didn’t have either and couldn’t use the wood I paid for) Oh well, now I know.Walkability: Trails throughoutFood & drinks: On site snack bar and ice cream

Very Disappointed with the Campsite we had. On the map it looked a bit spacious. NOT It was the smallest site we ever had. The grounds were never cleaned. IE Camp sites. There were cigarette buts in the fire pit and personally They shouldn't be allowed to have firepits. Way to close to campers. And the gate was always up for going in but to go out the gate worked LOL. No security. On another note loved the train for the kids so cute . We will not be going back.

Great facilities and friendly staff. But, interesting customers. We rented a cabin for three nights. The cabins are in great shape. They have running water and electricity. Our cabin came with a fridge, A/C, and microwave. They were spotless when we got here! The staff were super friendly. One staff member came to our site to welcome us; which I thought that was very nice. The bathrooms next to the grocery store are relatively new and they are clean. They have showers with hot water. However, they don't have his hooks to hang your towels while you shower. On the other hand, I have dark skin. So, other customers didn't reply when I said "hi". I also saw some people with white supremacist tattoos in the pool. So, you can imagine their beliefs. If you are non Caucasian camper, proceed with caution.

The manager at Whispering Pines (I believe her name is Ginger) needs to improve her customer relation skills. We walked into the check in building a little after 11 AM, she was behind the counter, she looks at us and wanted to know why we was there. I explained that we had a reservation, she looks at me and says, "Check in is after 1 PM, we need time to clean your site, come back then" Very straight faced, no greetings, no care that we had been driving all morning. When we returned around 1:30 she checked us in and told us we had to leave a $20.00 deposit for the gate key. Once again no welcome to Whispering Pines, enjoy your stay, nothing, just another day at the office for this woman. We left Whispering Pines a week later, returned the gate key to a different employee who assured us that we would get our deposit back. It's been almost one week since we were told this and have yet to see the $20.00 refund to our CC. No I would not recommend Whispering Pines to others.

We stayed here for a week and loved it! It's a beautiful campground--so peaceful and quiet during the week, much busier on the weekend. All the guests and and employees were so friendly and kind. Our 2 year old loved the little stream on the property, as well as the pool and playground. It was very affordable, especially compared to others in the area. Very close to stores and some great little hikes! We hope to return one day.

This is a beautiful campground. It has everything a family could want. Very family oriented, fun and something for all. The folks who own it are great and make you feel so welcome. We just bought a new trailer and are on our second season this year here. We were here with a pop up over 10 years ago as seasonal campers as well. Some of the other campers we knew back then are still here. That says something. We love it here. Close enough to home, but far enough away for a getaway whenever we want.

Nice campground, lots of wholesome family-oriented activities, friendly and helpful staff.Site 30B had lots voltage dips. It's a good idea to have your own surge protector plugged into the power pedestal. You'll also need walkie-talkies due to lack of cell coverage. That said, we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

I took my children hear for the first time and we enjoyed ourselves. The campgrounds were clean and at each site there's Electric outlet and running water also a fire pit. The price for camping is very low which is a good thing for big families also they offer cabins at affordable rate. We enjoyed ourselves doing many different activities like miniature golf, fishing in fishing, and played at the arcade. The only downside is that the boats could use an upgrade.

Had a nice relaxing weekend, the staff was pleasant, we enjoy seeing people have a good time that's what camping is about. We had a good flat site to pull into just wish it was a grassy site not all dirt. The bathrooms could use attending to and the wood we bought didn't burn for our campfire so the next person will be happy to get ours since we left it behind. But other than those few inconvienses we enjoyed it.
