The only pet store we would go to. We got some dog training from a guy named Nick. He did a great job and came and helped me when I had questions about my puppy. I specifically book the class with him. They do require you to have your dog's paperwork. Especially if you're taking it in for service or training. So keep that in mind and make sure to sign up for the rewards app. You end up getting $5 back every amount that you spend. Between the rewards and the friendly service there we go there as much as possible. There is also a nice man in the front register. I will have to update with his name. He is always very friendly and complimentary.

Seen that the leopard geckos where 50% of and seen this horrendous scene. The first leopard geckos leg was moving even though it looked dead/ dying. Please don’t sell half dead geckos and actually try to care for them. Marking them down won’t sell them faster.

Wanted to give a shoutout to the grooming team at chapel view. I have an extremely anxious beagle/gsp mix that had a hard start to life as a feral oil field puppy. She came in for her first groom tonight and the staff was nothing short of amazing. They took their time with her and made it such a positive experience.

Waited in n the fish department for ten minutes. Then went to the counter and asked to have someone come over to the fish department. After another ten minutes no one came. Two other customers were waiting there as well for help. Horrible customer service. Left without ever being waited on.

Daniel assisted me regarding a bisque type of cat food for my sick cat who isn't eating on her own. He was extremely knowledgeable and took time to answer questions about products. He was fantastic

Absolutely disgusting how the guinea pigs are treated here. There were 3 guinea pigs in less than 2 square feet of space, happening in multiple different cages. The poor pigs couldn't even walk or turn around. On top of that, the pig's nails were so long that they could hardly walk. They had no hay, which is supposed to be 70 % of their diet. They were neglected, mis-fed, and unable to move. The other small animals were being treated similarly, but the pigs were the worst. Shame on you, Petco!! I heard the employees complaining that they had 8 more guinea pigs that they just received. Where are they going to put those??? If you can't take care of the animals, don't have them in the store. Don't promote animal abuse!! It's sad that animal abuse is not taken seriously when it is not dogs. I regret not taking a photo to post here.**Update: I went back to get a photo and they didn't even have accessible water and half of the cage was soaked.**Update #2: Google seems to have deleted my review. What Petco is doing is animal abuse and neglect. Also the guinea pigs here are so mistreated that they have Strep. I ended up adopting one of the guinea pigs in the photo because he was clawing the glass to get to me. Not only did they tell me he was a female, he had a nasty case of strep that caused 2 abcesses. He required surgery to get one lanced, a prescription, and multiple vet visits to get his teeth adjusted. (~$1000)

I understand missing a couple things when grooming but my dogs hair was cut completely uneven and completely botched. It is 80 dollars for his grooming. It is bad to the point I cried. The fact that they also sent a card home with him say how good and calm he was says it all. If he was so well behaved why does it look like someone just decided to take trimmers and or scissors and run them all over random spots of my dogs face and body. Will never go to Cranston location again for grooming. I will now have to spend more money to get his hair fixed and touched up. Which I completely not ok

There is an older man that works here. I’m all for respecting your elders but this man is rude as hell. You can tell the only thing this man feels like he has control over in his life is being a cashier. Except he’s not happy about it. He takes out that unhappiness and resentment on the only people in his life he can. Petco customers. The only blessing in interactions with him is that you get to do at the end of the conversation what he wishes so badly he could. Leave. This wasn’t a one time interaction that didn’t go well otherwise I’d say he had a bad day and leave it at that. No this man is just miserable. All those decades on this planet interacting with people and not learning a day of humility will do that to you.

My partner and I have homed several little friends from this Petco! The manager Steph, has been the most helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff member we’ve met at any Petco in Rhode Island. She has not only given us helpful and honest tips every time we come in, but is also an absolute joy to be around. I recommend visiting Steph at the Garden City Petco for ANY of your pet needs (ESPECIALLY for reptiles, amphibians and arachnids).

I had my two dogs groomed at the Cranston store #3705 and I am very disappointed by the customer service I received. The grooming itself is not an issue. When I booked the appointments online the price was $51 each. After receiving a text and confirming the appointment the price for one dog increased. I contacted the store and was told the hair length was set as long and the rep corrected it and the price went back to the original.The hair length of both dogs is not long, and both are comparable to each other.When I picked up the dogs, I was handed two slips and noticed each had different pricing, same descriptions just different pricing and when I questioned it the rep printed a new slip. I did not even realize until I got home that what was done was rather than matching the lower price, they raised the lower one to match the higher price. When I questioned why when I booked the grooming I received a price of $51 and now it’s $62 I was told it was the length of the hair which is maybe ½ to ¾ inches in length. When I questioned that determination I was now told it is by the breed which both are mixed.My dogs hair is not long. Both dogs are under 25 lbs. each. Instead of matching the lower price, you raise it to match the higher price!I will think long and hard before EVER doing any business in the future with Petco and their awful customer service!Today (1 Day after original posting) I receive a ridiculous email response from Brittany C. I have no idea if she is from corporate, the store or the sewer treatment plant. My dog recently got a groom. I was well aware he would need to be shaved down considering he was matted in certain areas but I didn’t expect for him to be completely bald. He looks like a whole naked cat and he’s a shih tzu. I also wasn’t expecting was for my dogs whiskers to be completely cut off. And his nails barely trimmed? I’ve been here before & never had a bad experience with the groomers who had him-my dog always came out fine. But this time? A different groomer, whiskers were cut off, nails untrimmed & a bald dog. Since the groom my dog is acting traumatized! Never again

Never going again for the vaccination clinic. First off, their prices online were different than in store, I got charged more. Second, my dog has bad anxiety poor thing and he was scared. Scrawny white guy with a goatee asked if he needed to be muzzled to give his shot? Omg I wanted to rip into him so bad. You can clearly see the poor thing doesn’t do well with strangers and yet think “hey muzzle the dog?” NO. As the owner, let me hold my poor baby to comfort them and then you can do your job easily and administer the vaccine. Never going to petco again.

Great knowledgeable staff good prices and large selections of reputable brands! Most animals are well cared for at this location, however I wish they would have an expert or at least someone thoroughly trained in aquatics! I've seen many tanks infected with Ich, Velvet, and other parasites that can wipe out someone's entire home aquarium or the very least, spend money on a new fish that's going to die alone in a quarantine tank. Very sad either way.

I questioned the MANAGER on duty about an animal I recently saw at that specific location and he very rudely said "we aren't allowed to discuss that animal, do you still want this bearded dragon?" Which of course I did, poor little guy was getting attacked by the other dragon in the tank with him.

If I could give you 0 stars I would there was a sick Uromastyx so skinny you could see all its bones. Thats absolutely disgusting because that’s promoting animal abuse. Not to mention the guinea pigs have NO HAY which is supposed to be 70% of their diet. Their nails were long and curled and the employees couldn’t care less about the safety and wellbeing of these animals. If your manager all the way down to team members don’t care then why have animals that will be abused. This is 100% unacceptable and you will be reported till these things are fixed. And I pray you lose all animals from now till whenever the owners can actually get their head out from between their legs and listen to us customers and care.

Had a great experience with their grooming salon today. Brought my 3 year old son Vader in there today for under $70 and he looks great. He's about 50 lbs and a super long haired, silky, vocal dood. He can be very stubborn and unpleasant to groom, but supposedly he did great today!The woman who groomed him did a great job! Well worth the price. She had him done quick, clean and listened to me and did exactly what I asked her to do with him.

I went to the Cranston store to look at Cat carriers. The associate was very helpful in helping me choose a carrier. I saw that there is a discount when you order on line which I do not do. The associate informed me that I could get the online discount at the register if I asked. So I got the perfect carrier and saved $30 as well. I was very happy. I visit that store very often. it is well stocked and very clean. The associates are always helpful.

The grooming my dog received was patchy. I asked them to cut him as short as possible but there are plenty of long spots they missed on his body… seemed to do an ok job with his nails. Reason for 2 stars and not 1 is the lady Marisa helped me figure things out and fix the situation. She was fantastic.Update, I was offered a refund. And Cat the employee was very rude.. she told me she could refund everything but the 5.99 materials fee. She was short, snippy, and condescending. Now I won’t be back for ANYTHING due to her alone

Always great service . My dogs groomer Ramona is superb. Below is the groomer report card. I really like getting this lol. I hope Ramona is at Petco for a long time cause she really is a great stylist and great with dogs .Parking is plentiful . Easy getting in and out. Coordinating with Ramona for a time and day is very easy . Even tho you can now schedule online , i still rather calling her. Also it’s awesome i can now give a tip at the cash register , they can add it to your card which makes it so much easier than scrambling for cash (which I rarely carry anymore )

Best Petco in RI! One of the only places to get dart frogs and other exotic pets. Steph the manager is fantastic, cares deeply about animal welfare, and will take the time to make sure all pets find their happiest forever home. Always in stock with insect feeders where other stores fall short.

I made an error and showed up at a time when I was not scheduled. The groomer at the reception desk still took us in, made sure she was able to locate the necessary vaccines, etc. and made me feel a lot better about my mistake. My dog came home clean and happy, in less than 2 hours!
