This review is solely for the woman named Bernadette who works in the deli. I shopped before the deli was open, but she was there taking inventory on the meats and cheeses in the kiosk. She recognized that I was not finding what I needed so she asked me what she could help me with, and I told her what I wanted, but it was out of stock in the pre-sliced meats. She said how much do you want? I’ll go ahead and slice you some. I said you don’t have to do that; you’re not open in the deli yet are you? She said no but that’s OK, I can help you. And she did.People don’t usually go above and beyond like that anymore in the world we live in today, so I just wanted to make sure, she was recognized for taking care of people, even though it wasn’t her duty to do so 20 minutes before the deli officially opened. The world needs more people like this sweet lady.

I love going to Weiss on white st.. York… I go to Weiss almost daily.. they are like family to me.., I know everyone and they know me… I would be sad if I couldn’t see them daily they are like family , it’s amazing the relationship u can carry with others… even if ur just going to grocery store…. Made friends for life….

Been going here for almost my entire life for groceries. The only problem there are the stupid self checkout machines that act up quite often. It's not nice to need a employee over your shoulder when you should be able to use the self checkout by yourself. And items quite often have the wrong price labeled on them.

Love Weis. Friendly, week stocked, competitive prices, great rewards program, the best ice cream, nice pharmacy. Love the bakery and the cookie cards program for the kids. You can buy alcohol at the deli area and produce is good. Sweet corn we just got was so very with the price

This store has driven me and many others to go to giant. Twice I have come to this store within the last 2 months and not a single cashier to help and only 1 self checkout belt line open. What could of been a half hour trip turned into about an hour and a half trip because I spent an hour in a self checkout line that doesn’t even work properly half the time. It’s not even that they didn’t have the manpower to have someone in the only cashiers line because they had 4 people sitting behind the customer service desk on their phones. Unless they can actually do something about it instead of just saying “sorry”, we’ll never be back.

I love this store, been shopping here for years. I don't do self checkout. I recently had a medium sized order and all that was open was self checkout. I was directed to the courtesy desk and I asked if she could check me out. She said she would. She was so nice and kind. I joked with her and said if I do self checkout(I"m actually working :) ) I should be invited to the Christmas party. She said they don't have one. We laughed. Her name is Anne. She is a gem !!!

Spoke to the manager as I was checking myself out one day. Told him that I'd been in after working a 10 hour day, had a cart full of groceries, couldn't get even one of the 5 employees to check me out. All 5 we're standing down near the end of the checkout section, about 20 ft away. Just standing there talking to each other. Manager apologized. Went back one last time and the self checkout was not functioning properly. I didn't even bother asking beforehand if someone would check me out. Unfortunately, nobody would help even after the malfunctioning self checkout wouldn't allow our purchase to go through. I'LL NEVER GO BACK! We are paying them to sell things to us, then we do all the work in order to obtain the purchase. I'm lucky to even have the energy to go through the process of grocery shopping after work. I'm not only handpicking each item I'm buying. I'm doing the entire process from beginning to end, without any assistance from even one employee.

Always liked this store ever since moving to York. Weiss is a well-known grocery market and this particular one has very pleasant staff. The bakery ladies are always eager to help as are the customer service attendants, the stockers and the cashiers.They sometimes have good sales on seafood (got 4 lobster cakes for $5) and their vegetables are always fresh. Love the service of getting my seafood cooked while I finish my shopping too!There is ample parking and it is very conveniently located next to a US Post office and a Dollar general store. Prices here are better than at Giant which is across Carlisle street.

I have been a Weis shopper for years. With many prices more than doubled due to Covid(?) I cannot afford to buy most of my groceries here. The staff is friendly, helpful and competent. I like the deli for Weis brand luncheon meats and salads. No longer find markdown baked goods...used to buy day old Italian or French bread...guess they just throw it all away now. Makes the best French toast or garlic bread. Life goes on and things change.

Moldy produce, limited options for anything besides junk food, and mostly out of state products. As an historically farming community, York should be ashamed for allowing corporations to take over the food supply. It's nearly impossible to eat healthy and make it taste good when the produce is always bad.Weis and Giant should be sued for the negative impact to the health and well-being of the community. When you have millions of dollars to dominate the market and force local businesses to shut down, there's literally no incentive to provide anything of value to the families living nearby. They obviously struggle to keep up with the actual demand for food because they're constantly restocking. People also need work, so we trade quality for quantity and become dependent on these soulless corporations.York desperately needs more, small, local, walkable markets with local produce.

Nice store. Clean and bright. Good selection. Employees are usually helpful. Their prices are high, but they do have really good deals sometimes. They're usually not super crowded like some other stores. Their bakery is awesome. To save money, check out the half price bakery cart in the back corner of the store. There's a nice little cafe in the front where you can have a light lunch or a drink while using the free wifi.

I went to this location last night after work for a few things. I got home and didn't have my purse. I called and spoke to a very nice young lady who told me someone turned it in. I went back in and asked a tall young man with dark hair and glasses. I didn't get his name, unfortunately. He was the one who found it! I wanted to say how much I appreciate his honesty. Nothing was missing. Great job by the young people working last evening.

Good trip to store today. Just went in for few items but probably left with a dozen. However was using loaded coupons for things for holiday meals before they aren't stocked on shelves. Nice encounters with store staff today, made for a pleasant shopping adventure with granddaughter.

The new cashiers are clearly barely trained; they're slow and bag incorrectly. Their own bread brand is frequently sold out, especially when on sale. After answering a simple question, I've heard employees make fun of the customer for it within easy earshot of other customers. Their selections, such as special ice cream brands, are limited compared to other locations. Despite loyalty of 40 years and nearly 30 years, might be switching to Giant or a different Weis location.

Bad Bakery Experience. We usually find ourselves going here to get cakes for birthdays and parties. Not anymore. Usually they forget to make the cake this time not only did they forget to make it and have it ready on time we were eating the cake and a family member almost chocked on a plastic glove or bag that was in the cake . It was baked into the cake . So I just wanted to share my experience with everyone if you are looking for A good Bakery Experience don’t go here I will never trust this place again for any kind of baked goods. So be careful if you do.

I love Weiss market the prices are reasonable I also love going there when I visit York. Better than another grocery store. However, I must say there prices are pretty decent . I only found one thing to be better at Walmart which was grapes at an all time low 1.98 a pound.

Very Poor Customer ServiceI was in there last Friday. I went to an open cashier lane, the light was on, and the cashier was finishing up with the customer in front of me. Istarted putting my items on the belt, had half of my cart up there, and the cashier said she could not ring me up. I said she could as her light was on. She told me no because she had to go help someone else and that I had to put all of my stuff back in my cart and go somewhere else! I again said, my stuff was on the belt and the light was on. The cashier walked away, with her light on and left me to put all of my things back in my cart to go to a self checkout. By the time I had finished at self checkout, she was back to cashing out other customers. There was no manager around to discuss this with, and I did a complaint online with no response. I will not be returning to this store as the cashiers are rude and do not take care of the customers.

Very frustrated with the multitude of employees in this store who play on their cell phones in full view of us customers, and the employees who are consistently conducting bull sessions in front of the cash registers. If there's not enough work to keep all these employees busy, then relieve them of their duties. Perhaps not having to pay all that dead weight would allow Weis management to lower the prices of the food we buy here.
