We stayed here for 3 nights in September 2023 and loved every minute of it. The campground is immaculately maintained. Heads up that there are no laundry or shower facilities, and the only bathroom is an outhouse, but there is a dump station if you're traveling in an RV. Even with the lack of facilities (or maybe because of it), this little campground is truly a gem. There is a creek running alongside the road just in front of the campground and elk walk through it!The owner's son, Ben, was very knowledgeable about the area and a lot of fun to talk to. There's a large structure (the garage) with sofas, chairs, and a pool table which is open sometimes and provides a place to watch big screen TV and hang out. If you're looking to really relax and enjoy nature, this is the place to do it.

I love this campground! It's clean and friendly in a quiet area. There are a variety of spots to choose from for a good price. I was lucky and saw elk right in the campground on my first visit. There's also a beautiful creek just across the road. The owner was incredibly nice and even drove the firewood over. It's about 20 minutes from the visitors center, which makes for a nice short drive in the morning when you're heading to the viewing areas. It's also 3 minutes from a Bar and Grill that had delicious food. Even better, there's free wifi!Nearby activities: Lots of great places to explore nearby.Safety: Security cameras are in place and there's wifi.Walkability: Trails and a creek within walking distanceNoteworthy details: Very clean, quiet, and friendly camping area.

Generally the bookings for here fill up quickly. Often the elk roam right through this campground. Your surrounded by mountain hills and within 30 minutes of most lookout points and places of interest. There is water hookups and campfire rings in place. There is no full hookup (sewage) but there is a dump station. There is also no shower house, but free wifi across the campgrounds. Quite little getaway great for elk viewing, a growing best kept secret of the area.

After recently purchasing our first travel trailer, this was our first stay at a campground. We were immediately greeted by the owners when we arrived and shown our site. Property is laid out nicely with plenty of room for the site. Knowing we were new to trailer camping, the owners offered their help and tips to make everything smooth and enjoyable. Very friendly people and we can’t say enough good things about them. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Excellent quiet family campground. 30 and 50amp hookups available at various sites. Some pull through sites. Some tent sites too. Has municipal water and is good for human consumption (meets DEP regulations). On site dump station. Fire ring and picnic table at each site. The Staff is the owner and their family and this guarantees that they care for the property and take care of their customers. Although no Verizon service supposedly new tower serves AT&T customers. So depending on your desires lack of cell service may be a blessing or the bane of your stay. But they do have Starlink and distributed free wi-if to the camp sites.

Ben met us as we pulled in, easiest check in ever!!Very clean camp ground. Very quiet. Unfortunately we did not have any elk, probably due to pretty steady rain. Beautiful country. I know they have music events. The grand daughter made friends from another site and they played in the river right across the road.. Dave and his family are very nice. We will be returning.

We booked this trip at the beginning of the year! Prior to booking we spoke with a younger gentleman at the campground regarding our stay! He was very polite and so our group decided to give it a try! We always camp with a larger group plus all of our children. Had booked 8 campsites with 33 people (including children). When we arrived we were greeted by an older gentleman and a younger gentleman whom were both very nice! They showed us to our spot and even helped guide us in. They recently put in a pond that contained no fish just frogs. They verbally told some of our group about staying away from the pond. Have no fence or any signs posted around it. Kids will be kids and like to be adventurous! Three of the adults and their two kids did not arrive until Friday afternoon and were never instructed about the pond. While the adults and kids were all playing kickball behind our sites two of the smaller children adventured close to the pond (all the adults were around). Mind you the area we were playing in had broken glass pieces throughout it. The older gentleman came over and talked to one of our guys about the kids being at the pond! Stated he could throw us out and if he would of known we were a big group he would of never allowed us to book! He said he didn’t give a **** if something happened to the kids! Well, if he doesn’t want people around the pond maybe there should be fence or signs stating that! But nothing posted only verbally told to some people! They do not offer a bathhouse just porta potties which are well taken care of. The campground does offer water and electric hookup for the campers that are in need as well as a dump station. We were told about quiet time being 10:00 PM but could hear their loud music from the “store”. Not much for kids to do! I would recommend this campsite for older couples that don’t have kids.

We feel like we found a true hidden gem with this campground, it’s amazing. One of the best campgrounds we have stayed at over the years, absolutely loved it. Everyone was very nice and accommodating, and we already booked twice for the upcoming year. Can not praise Elk County Campground enough, we can’t wait to come back!

Friendly hosts and well cared for grounds. We were told we would probably see elk and sure enough a couple of them walked right through camp. The pavilion is more adult oriented which suited us perfectly with a vintage bar and sports on TV. Maybe cornhole next year on our next visit?

We totally enjoyed our time at this camp ground. The folks there were very friendly and helpful. When checking in they were right there to show us our spot, lending a hand while backing in and bringing a load of firewood. A bonus for us was seeing Elk at the campsite. We will be camping there again.

We had a really nice stay at the Elk Country Campground! The owners were super friendly and accommodating. The campground itself was clean and quiet-- perfect for a family stay. I loved how convenient it was to both Driftwood and Benezette.

It is a nice little campground in Elk Country. Located by a nice creek, and nice country roads to bike and walk along. The best part, if you are a luck camper, you will catch the local elk herd as they come through the campground! Central location, 20 minutes from Benezette and the elk center, 10 minutes to sinnemahoning, 30 minutes to emporium, 40 minutes to St. Mary’s, 40 minutes to Renova, 20 minutes to Stevenson Dam and wildlife center! You will love your stay!
