They were very quick to get my application looked over and approved not even in 13 hrs of her being up for adopting! She is a wonderful ball of fur! It was an instant connection with her! We adopted 2 older cats, brothers. Our family got larger. The place was incredibly busy. I wanted to look at the dogs because we had to euthanize ours due to a terminal illness. I was hoping to find a new friend but.. I could not look at the dogs without an appointment. And even then, I had to make an appointment to see a specific dog. They had a folder to look through with pictures and a description. But that seemed a very cold way to find a friend. It's too bad. I really wanted to see the dogs.

This place is a complete joke for any K-9 rescue. Their staff is so disinterested and completely lacks any knowledge. Applications have been in for years and still being treated like a "nuisance." Staff agreed I should go to a breeder a not adopt from Lycoming SPCA after I challenged the "Directors" decisions to create barriers from adopting.Regardless, I would have been fine with their rules, but after being consistently treated like this it's no wonder these poor animals stay so long. No effort is provided on their part to help, so do your homework and call ahead. They have to move mountains in order for you to simply meet a dog.

I foster cats for them & they are wonderful. They take such great care of all the fur babies. Please check their before a breeder. So many beautiful animals need a forever home.

I been trying to adopt two dogs and three puppies from their for my son who is on the autistic spectrum to be trained for a service dog and the people who work there said that there dogs and puppies they are not capable to be trained for being a service dog which any breed of dogs and puppies can be trained for services dogs so please Moms and Dads who have children with autism and any other disabilities that in need of a service dogs and the SAPC who have’s beautiful dogs and puppies that are in need of home and are very trainable and they refuse to let us adopt them please can anyone help us understand this please

The employees were so kind & helpful. They truly care about finding loving homes for their animals.We recently adopted a kitten , Charlene was amazing with all the help she gave us. We had never adopted thru an SPCA before. Tammy was very friendly also.Our kitten found his forever home thanks to Charlene & Tammy.1/12/24 updateSorry to post a negative but I'm upset with the Lycoming County SPCA.Two times I've given memorial donations recently. I paid the extra to cover postage & a card. Neither family ever got their card. I sent an email and also left 2 messages for Joel.No one ever got back to me & no cards were received.I'm not a large donor but I do give several times a year. Sadly I am done.They have no problem taking the money from my account.

My wife and I LOVE the Lycoming County SPCA. We adopted a dog from them in 2016, and just adopted our second dog from them last week. The staff as always is friendly and helpful. And they really care about the animals. I also believe they are a no kill shelter. I don't know her name, but the lady that was working with my wife and I with our adoption was so nice and helpful. If you have room in your home, please adopt. So many good boys and girls need a good home.

There are so many animals that need to be adopted to a good home. If you are unable to adopt, there are so many other ways to help. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately I'm at odds, There procedures are not at standards. First you tell me adoption is for best suited for the dog. Then you say it is first come first serve for applications. Who benefits . I spent 3 weeks trying to adopt a dog to get the runaround. Dogs not ready, dog hasn't been tested to your not first on list. By the way my wife and I have a total of 90 years experience having dogs since childhood. Why would we be turned down. I believe that someone on the inside wanted this dog.I just hope that you can understand how I feel about this.

This organization is a great place with great people. I came here from an hour away with a school group to volunteer and our bus broke down. They welcomed us back into their facility and allowed us to pet some of the animals while we waited. I couldn't thank them enough!!

I have never seen such a clean animal shelter where the animals are truly loved and taken care of. We were so happy to bring Azriel home. He is such a joy and is so loving and an absolute goofball! He is a great addition to our family. We all love him so much! The staff does a great job working with the animals, preparing them for their forever homes. Highly recommend adopting from this shelter.Remember to please adopt, don't shop!❤🐕‍ 🐾❤

Complicated process to adopt. Almost have to lie to look like a perfect candidate to adopt. Most recently, went to adopt a German Shepard, got on the waiting list and when It it was our time, we got instantly denied due to having a child. I understand being cautious, but did not even ask us of our experience with shepherds before or how we trained them. Unfortunately as this is the second time running into a hurdle with the Lyco SPCA, its just easier for us to look elsewhere.
