The staff was so friendly as it was my first time trading in games for store credit. I found a book while I was waiting and even got a text when they were done and had a nice offer! My favorite store for used books/videogames!

The selection is amazing. The Membership Services? A bit scammy. If you sign up on the website and not the store, for some reason your rewards points do not sync/accrue. I’ve spent well over $200 dollars my first visit. It’s been 3 months. No rewards. It would have been nice to have a small discount for my next but purchase. I enjoy a brick and mortar experience, but so many business struggle with customer experience that isn’t virtual.

One of my favorite places to find books but lately, no prices on anything and the store is always moved around every time we go which is often. Today was so confusing and we couldn’t locate the sections that are usually marked. Definitely needs organization as it was till a few months ago.

1st time here and very impressed. They have everything sorted fairly organized for a used book store. It is so big I would have never guest it was a 2nd hand store from the outside. I ended up coming across a bunch of good option and left with something to read. I will definitely return to shop here again.

This place was pretty great when it first opened, but variety has taken a dip and prices have gone way up. Regardless, it functions as a good third place, and dropping in every so often is a good way to kill some time - even if I haven't found anything in a while. I only ever look at the books, but they sell a lot of different types of media.

I like the 2nd & Charles store. Because of the books I've bought here, I've found new favorite authors. I tend to gravitate towards the YA section. Sometimes, I find the books I'm looking for, other times not. If it's a newer book, typically it's more pricey than the older published selection. The store is also very spacious with so much cool stuff from discounted books to games, merch, plushies, accessories, DVDs, CDs, instruments, journals, stationary, and so much more! I will say that most (if not all) stuff isn't discounted. I only ever go there for the books. If something is over $10, I tend not to buy it. If you feel something is worth the money and can validate that purchase, that's up to you. Otherwise, there are other places to thrift books such as ThriftBooks. The only thing I don't like is the low cash the store gives you for your books. You get more money for store credit than you do cash. Also, if a book has a tear or slight stain, they won't take your books or other items. Overall, this store has something for everyone.

Stopped in for a crossword puzzle book, they only had small fall apart when you fold it a time or two.....don't carry the the large ones anymore.Still they carry a large selection of new & good condition used books as well as CD's and gift goods.Great shop to browse!

Employees are very helpful & nice. Large variety of items from books, toys, candy, etc. Definitely worth stopping by to take a look around.

A great spot to find your unique taste in music, anime, retro video games & manga. Staff on hand are always helpful. Stock is always changing as well as the prices can be very competitive with online. So it's always good to keep coming back to find something different.

This place has become a favorite place to visit in Allentown, PA. A vast selection of new and used books, comic books, DVDs, musical instruments, and lots of interesting knick-knacks. But for me, I enjoy the excellent selection of used vinyl. Always good to browse!

I don't know how anyone finds anything in this place, other than by accident. There is absolutely no organization that I have found. Not sure if this is how the entire chain is run, but the Allentown store is a disaster.

went to sell, was told it would be at least an hour wait. keyword: AN hour. did not get an offer until about 4 hours. i understand they need to make $, but the offer was less than 10% of the worth of what i brought in. absolutely ridiculous.

My daughter brought me and I was impressed. Not sure how to describe 2nd & Charles? It’s sort of like an overgrown FYE with better selection of collectibles plus books! I was impressed and will return next time I’m in the area.

I love this store. I mostly go for books, but they have a variety of things for sale, like guitars, collectibles, and music. Their prices are very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful

Ok I used to love this store, however lately the selection and prices are dissapointing. I recently went in to sell some movies and CDs. I was told that it would take a whole day or two to look at it. 🤔. So I drove back home and had to wait almost two days for the grand total of 15$. They made out because they got alot of my stuff. Smh. Never again.

How can you not love this store? There are such a variety of books and music and instruments and novelties and games.... I could spend a whole day there easily every time I visit. They have very unique items also that you don't see anywhere else and I especially love the wellness and self-care sections of the store. Plus every day the employees put out bins of free books for anyone to take and enjoy! 5 starsssss!

This is a place to check out if you collect comics, manga, movies, vinyl, horror or anything else that your inner nerd would want. Tons of things to look at and the more you look the more you will find. I like their used selection of some of the items since it's lower prices and things that are harder to find. Their manga and comic selection is some of the largest I've seen in a while. The book selection is large as well so you can find pretty much anything you might be looking for. I'd recommend going.

I love the selection of items in this place. They sell new and used Recoreds, books, and more. I have never just waljed out with at least one book. They have great sales. I wish they still did the buy 5 get 5 weekly. Also, miss the clearance section. I love that they don't use bags. You have to bring y our own. The stuff is absolutely winderful. Always ready to help!
