Very cool shop with lots of awesome vintage BMX. Very well stocked on bikes, parts and accessories. Be aware though that when traveling through on multi-day GAP trips they do NOT offer emergency service, so for minor mechanicals you'll be on your own. They were able to sell me a nipple wrench though since I'd left mine at home, and offered me a free zip tie to use as an indicator, which enabled me to equalize the tension on the rear wheel of a group member's bike in just a few minutes so she could get safely underway again. We were all glad they were there to help with sourcing that tool. 10/10, good to see the locals have such a great resource close by.

I cannot say enough about this shop and the guys there. I was stuck on day one of my GAP ride and they literally rescued me with having the parts that no one in Pittsburgh had. They fixed my bike the same day out of sheer kindess and have such integrity. I wish I lived here so they could be my shop.

Very knowledgeable and honest people. They have a large selection of bikes and prices are very reasonable. They do very good repair work and are very quick. Plus they give you discounts on in store purchases after you buy a bike.

Yesterday afternoon while riding the GAP trail we are 4 miles outside of West Newton when I experienced two broken spokes on my rear wheel. Not wanting to damage anything any further I carefully rode, wobbly wheel and all, the 4 miles to town to get this repaired. The place was busy and they got to me as quick as possible (about 20 minutes). After wheel was replaced and I was ready to go I realized the air pressure on that same tire was lower than it should be. The tech took my bike back in and discovered somewhere I picked up a small thorn which not only pierced my tire but tube as well so there was a small leak. That meant I needed a new tire and tube. While he had my bike on the stand, he adjusted the brakes and shifting, without being asked and no additional charge. This bike shop was very friendly, professional and explained everything he was doing to my bike. Highly recommend if you need bike assistance in that area and I will do the same. Thank you! Riding from Pittsburgh to West Newton my rear brakes were locking up on the trail. When we got to West Newton at 4 PM I called the shop and they told me to bring it up and they said they would see what they could do. Well the tech fixed my brakes and also oiled my chain and tighten my seat. Then he took it for a test ride and noticed there was a problem with the bearing and was able to fix it so I was able to continue my ride. The repairs were very reasonable.

We went to ride the The great Allegheny passage (gap) and one place to get on is at the bike shop. When we returned we went into the shop to look around and since my bike was in need of a tuneup I asked the owner if they could do it within a week since we were leaving the area in that time. My wife inquired about a custom modification to her bike to carry our Yorkie in a carrier on the front of the bike. Understand this is the busiest time for them and there was certainly no shortage of work. This is the best part. Not only did he get my bike done with some improvements but he got my wife’s bike done at the same time and three days sooner than anticipated. They have full service and a large selection of accessories and bikes. They sell the Marin line and that’s what I ride and you just don’t find them everywhere. BTW. My wife is thrilled that she’s able to take our dog with her. We recommend them if you need anything bike related.

The person who helped us choose out a bike was friendly and we were lucky to find a suitable bike. However, there are two reasons we are unlikely to visit this store again:1. None of the employees that we saw were wearing masks (the mask mandate in PA is still active).2. They do not accept any returns or exchanges.We wish we had known these things before deciding to visit this store to buy a bike and hope that this review will help others make a more informed decision.For those who are looking specifically for a Marin bike, we've had much better experiences with Zak's Bike Shop and Cycle Symphony, the two other Marin retailers in the Pittsburgh area.

Best customer service anywhere. Very unusual anymore to find a business that honestly cares about the customer- Jericho ( hope I spelled that correctly) is fantastic at fixing any problem quickly and courteously I recently had my new bike fall off the rack on my car and they repaired it as good as new in less than 1 day - and even cleaned it so he could inspect for further damage. I would recommend this shop as the best I have ever dealt with- just excellent people all around !!

I've been to every bike shop from Pittsburgh to Philly to Ohio. Sure the big chain places are cool but supporting local & family owned is important. Not to mention the personalized service you get! Floyd and the guys can get you any bike you want and fast, if they already don't have it in stock.. Their service is also very fast and there's not one thing they can't fix. I'd recommend them to anyone and have.

Somehow my 1st negative review was deleted. Not sure how. But my experience in this shop was more than bad they called my bike junk right to my face said i was wasting money fixing it. Even though it was a $2,000 downhill MTB but had the name mongoose on it. Anyway this was years ago so maybe they have new staff hopefully and maybe they did a better job at hiring. Who knows ill be going there again in a few days.. I'll update my review than..

Wow! Amazing experience using this store/shop today. The selection of bikes and accessories is fantastic. The repair shop is second to none. The techs are all patient and knowledgeable. They were able to do a repair and two upgrade installations on my bike in minutes and the also fixed my wife's bike who's shifter cable bound up. All while we waited!In the off chance there is a wait, you can always grab a bite to eat at the café upstairs while you wait. This shop will service all makes and brands of bikes and the techs are not critical of your brand of bicycle. Bring your Huffy or your Canondale, they will treat you with the same respect.

Went there three times this summer and this shop has the best customer service. Friendly workers and they even showed me how and installed my bike rack on my car for me. I came in twice to have service on my bike and was done in a day to less! Best Bike shop around. Would recommend to anyone.

I have had multiple tune ups there, and brought in a pretty wrecked bike. And they have always tuned them up to brand new!!! Absolutely recommend this as your shop for everything biking! Also, bring in your old BMX bikes, they buy them!

had a broken front hub on my bicycle and took it in, the guy was very nice and polite as fixed it up like brand new. the cost was nice and alot less than i anticipated for the bicycle i have. the time he took to fix it was not bad either and im very thankful for the friendly and quick service. i will gladly return here if i have more issues

My bike was on the back of my car on my way to the trail and I was hit in the rear end. Bent my brake disc. These guys had a new one on in 10 min and reasonably priced. Looks like a great well stocked shop with great staff

I am a cyclist from Tampa, in town visiting our son and daughter in law. Decided to rent a recumbent from these guys. Glad I did. They were very accommodating, even swapping out their pedals for mine (cleats) and making their water fountain back in the shop available for my water bottle.The ride was great and trail very good, and with their store having direct trail and parking access, what could be easier?These guys know their stuff. Clean and well-organized bike shop, lots of great bikes on display and real cyclists to answer your questions. Definitely worth five stars.

Very customer friendly! I have rented bicycles here and also brought my own bike for repairs..they replaced both tubes in front/back tires in about 30 minutes at a very reasonable price.

I live right by this place and they take care of all my biking needs , stopped the other day and made a request for an odd size front tire and an HD tube. Not only did they have it in stock the guy put it on and had me out of there in 15 min. Great Staff!!

While riding the GAP Trail from Pittsburgh, I blew a tire in Versailles headed to Boston. The only open bike shop on Sunday was West Newton Bike Shop. After obtaining an Uber to the shop, Jerico went right to work. He assessed the problem, provided a new and improved inner tube and made the change. Additionally, he adjusted my handle bars, bell, and powered up my bike. It could have been a bad situation, however, Jerico’s prompt attention and complete professionalism allowed everything to work out for the good! My mind was put at ease and we were able to complete the trip with no further issues.

Bikes were great. We only rode two hours with our 7 year granddaughter who had her own bike. We rented ours and found them to be comfortable for our mature bodies. Our first ride on the bike trail. We will rent again.

After stopping for lunch at the restaurant above the shop, found that I had a flat. The tech said that it would be between $20-$25 to fix. Said that it needed a patch and a rimstrip. Told him patch and rimstrip was not necessary since he pointed out to me that flat was caused by a sharp thorn that was still stuck in the tire. Flat was fixed in 10 minutes, super quick! Bill indicated that tire was patched and that a new rimstrip was installed. An additional $8. I didn't complain since it was comparable to a flat fix in the city and I was in and out within 10 minutes. The cost of the tube and the cost of the installation was reasonable.

The people there are knowledgeable and honest from what I have experienced. This place has a small choice in bikes but what they have will probably meet 80% of people's need. This is also very convenient because it is right on the walking trail. You can go upstairs and eat or drink while you like is getting repaired.
