Very unfriendly employees overall. With the exception of one older woman in the clothing department. The clothing is extremely overpriced. Average $70.00-$85.00 for a light tee shirt type blouse. They watch you like you’re a thief. Unfriendly, overpriced, down right rude older woman in the shoe department. I most likely will not ever go there again

A throwback to the days of true department stores. Had everything from kitchen stuff to clothes to boots and shoe and appliances. Home decore..just everything. A little overwhelming though. Needs a little better organization of departments. Has a small Cafe and a STARBUCKS for breaktime.

My family and I go here a few times a year. It has an amazing department store vintage shopping feel to it. From their coffee shop ( who doesn’t enjoy shopping while sipping on coffee?) to their unique gifts Dunhams is a great place to shop.

I visited this store looking for a belt, after having purchased something at their hardware store. The first person that I came across acted like I was from another planet and told me to go in and ask somebody else. When I went inside and I asked the second person they told me they didn't know if they had any belts or not. Then I saw an older lady coming from the back that seemed to be the manager or the owner. She told me the best place to get a belt was the Goodwill. I thanked her for the information and I turned around to walk out. Then she stopped me and she reminded me to pay for the item I had in my hand which I had already paid for at their department store. When she realized her mistake, she just said ugh, you paid for that, looks like a the department store item. As a business owner myself, I know these mistakes can happen but then you apologize and you feel awful. This lady did not apologize nor felt any shame. These are entitled people whose business has been handed down to them through generations on a silver platter. I was hiking in the area and spending a good bit of money in Wellsboro but I did not look my best that day after coming out of the nearby mountains. It seems that they don't cater to people unless they look like what they think they should look like. I gave the store two stars for the good advice she gave me. The Goodwill had fantastic belts!

Felt like a throwback to smalltown dept stores of old. Small cafe to sit and have a bite to eat and a coffee while catching up with friends. Store prices are a little on the high side but it has a variety of clothes, jewelery, shoes, knicknacks and more

It's like getting a glimpse of a kind of department store my parents used to shop at. Cool retro vibe. Locally owned with a personal touch. Cute cafe inside. I got a nice dress for $30 and a fun headband for my daughter. Staff is very nice.

Went in to buy a pair of water shoes as I forgot before I came. The sales lady was so nice and pleasant. I asked for men’s size as most stores don’t carry above a women’s 10. After I tried a few she asked if a women’s 11 would fit. Some do, I hadn’t asked as most stores don’t carry it. Found shoes faster with a much nicer experience than I would’ve at the massive Christiana Mall complex near my home in Delaware.

Dunham's is what a Department Store should be, Just about everything you need in one place with a Friendly and very Helpful Staff. I Love going to this place and wish It was closer to home, love the Small Town feel.

Visited the store while we were staying in wellsboro. Feel like I stepped back into my childhood. This is the kind of store that I grew up going to with my mom. They have a good number of departments with a good solid selection of quality merchandise. The staff makes all the difference. Everyone that we interacted with was super friendly and went completely out of their way to help us with any questions we had about anything. Even got to meet the owner! She helped us with things to do while we were in town. If you ever find yourself in Wellsboro Dunham's is definitely a must do. Also try the cafe in the lower level. It's great!

This store is absolutely awesome!!! We ran across it on a weekend trip to the PA Grand Canyon. Lots of inventory. Wonderful women's and children's departments. Brings back memories of old department stores with several floors. The people who worked there were super friendly. I wish we had one of these stores near our home. Can't wait to go back!!

I stopped in last weekend while a group of us were out for a scenic drive. I just wish I'd have had more time to browse. I saw the Calico Critters in the front window and my granddaughter loves them, so that drew me in. Such a lovely small town family-owned department store. Not many of those left these days. I could have browsed their children's department for an hour. Lots of unique items that you don't find in the chain stores. The service was wonderful. The sales woman was very helpful and polite and gave me some of the history of the store while she rang up my items. I wish I'd have had time to browse the rest of the store, but hope to end up back in Wellsboro again.

Dunham's is a great all around department store located right on main street Wellsboro. They carry a wide variety of products sometimes however the selection can be a little small. Their prices are very reasonable and they carry good quality merchandise.They have an on site little restaurant and Starbucks where you can just hang out and watch the traffic on main street.In all the times we've been here we have never had bad service. The staff has always been kind, helpful and friendly.

An old-fashioned independent department store with a little of this and a little of that - all the categories you would expect, but not a huge range of merchandise in any given department. The prices were quite reasonable for the quality of the merchandise. We found what we were looking for, and a couple of things we weren't. Sales staff was extremely gracious and helpful.

Looks like they're not used to seeing medium-dark skinned folks in this area; the young man behind the cash register appeared to go into a slight panic mode when my wife and I walked in and inquired about portable folding chairs. He nervously said only the display ones outside were left. After looking at the ones outside my wife found a variety of several brand new chairs inside no more than 15 feet from the checkout. We purchased two chairs to the tune of approximately $85. The experience felt surreal, I'm over 60 years old and my wife is over 50 years old and we're both pastors. The young man was no doubt frazzled by us two normal darker skin toned human beings. SMH

I'm saddened to read the few negative reviews here. Believe me when I say that the complaints about customer service have been addressed by management, and addressed well! I shopped here during my recent first-time visit to Wellsboro and the employees practically tripped over themselves with friendliness and willingness to help me in any way. Someone is always right there to offer assistance and everyone was outgoing and engaging. I bought a pair of shoes that I love and the clerk not only helped me in my search for other shoes but she also wrote down travel directions for my ride home! The hospitality offered by Dunham's employees serves as a microcosm of the kindness and caring exhibited by everyone I met in this quaint, Victorian-era town. And please -- if you have a complaint about anything, instead of posting it here, just take it to management. They'll handle it. If this fourth-generation, family-owned store is to continue succeeding in this time of online shopping, it needs SUPPORT, not complaints! It's one of the backbones of Wellsboro, it's a major draw for tourists and locals alike, and it should be given a chance to continue! One local told me she relies on Dunham's for a number of items she can't buy anyplace else because there aren't a whole lot of other stores nearby. She doesn't like shopping online, preferring to try on clothing and hold items in her hand to check them out before buying. If you order online, you can't do either of those things until receiving them on your doorstep!

Went to pick up something quick while getting a coffee at Starbucks. Older woman there got angry and raised her voice after I was invited in by another sales person five minutes before they opened. Was told to go wait in the coffee shop. Went shopping instead at Wild Asaph Outfitters for better treatment and far better quality products. Save money and shop online. They don't seem to understand the concept of customer service.

Love Dunhams! The selection has gotten smaller over the years, especially since they closed the downstairs juniors shop, but I always find something special and unique whenever I visit.

Over priced, and why even have an Estee Lauder if not one person is able to assist you with anything at all? Not only that, they REFUSE to order anything they do not have in stock. The stock that they do have are all beyond outdated. The freshness codes are on the products. Last item I purchased was produced 7 years ago. Its a shame.... Then again, peebles has just earned all of my business now. Not like anyone cares anyways. This problem has went on for years. Bad customer service is another reason people choose to shop online. I'd probably support small town business, but since they are rude to me.... I refuse to buy anything there.

A gem of a store right in downtown Wellsboro. It's a throwback to the department stores of old like Woolworth, McCrory's, and G. C. Murphy. They've downsized to a single floor, but the merchandise selection is good and reasonably priced.

I was just here. At the top of the ramp.....an older lady looked at me and very mean said " put your mask over your nose" I turned around and walked out. I cannot wear a mask over my nose for reasons!!!!! Then when outside I told the group of people I was with. One walked back in and pulled his mask below his nose and walked right by her and stopped. She said nothing to him. I would never walk into another Dunham's again.

There's a wide selection of clothes, shoes and household items. Nice kid's department. Service is excellent. Stop here whenever I visit Tioga and Potter counties.
