I’m doing a volunteer in the Allegheny national forest but I was getting recommend Dacian from one white close friend who is a fan of the store I talked to Piper and she is very nice as well as Sue . They are both very sweet and I am quite interested to the kayaking or canoeing program however, time is limited so that I don’t have the opportunity for either of them this time however, I will definitely come next time when I’m available to experience with their shuttle in their river program

What a fantastic outfitter!!! I live in NC and was looking for a PA kayak adventure and found it here. Wonderful staff and amazing store with so much cool stuff. They went way above and beyond to help me out and I could not ask for more.Did the Kinzu Dam run. Beautiful trip. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We floated from Kinzua to Wildwood at the end of July, renting two tandem kayaks from AO. The kayaks were much better than we expected and offered ample room for our overnight camping supplies, as well as my fishing equipment. The staff at AO were ready when we arrived, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the area. I look forward to a return trip.

Our whole extended family and our friends go on an annual canoe trip and we always rent from Allegheny Outiftters. They are reliable and reasonably priced. They will drive your group and your canoes to the boat launch by the dam to start your trip. Then we spend the whole day enjoying the sun and canoeing from there to Bent Run Brewing. Allegheny Outfitters always has our canoes and life jackets ready and the staff is always great. I would definitely recommend them for your next day on the water.

We rented a Kayak and used the shuttle. The instructions of what to avoid and how to navigate were fantastic. The service was excellent and the Kayak we rented was great comfortable seats and everything I would want. The brewery next door was great also!!

Awesome company! The people are awesome and equipment is excellent. We had a lovely 5 hour kayak paddle from Warren! This is the 2nd trip this season. Each time it was excellent! We saw bald eagles and heron! Beautiful!!!!

This is the best or worst place to be a hippie or outdoor enthusiast! Take all my money!!! Please!!!Great products with great service!For being an all outdoors store the place is super clean! Employees are always super cool to chit chat with!Not many people will sell yah a kayak then haul yah around too!Everything here is worth every cent spent!!!

Definitely a longer trip now that they have moved down past the refinery. I wouldn't recommend the trip when there is a strong headwind, in my opinion. NOT FUN, especially once you get past the bridge by the refinery! There is also a LONG walk back once you exit the river. Just some things to keep in mind before you go.* Thanks for the response. However, nobody told us about the other trips. Not that we mind the distance, but the headwinds were exceptionally bad.

I’ve been going to AO for the past 6-7 years and they are so wonderful there. Super kind, lenient, and very knowledgeable. I’ve never once had a bad experience renting from them. 10/10 would recommend :)

We have been canoeing with my father 4 brothers, 6 brother in laws and many nephews for 25 years on the Allegheny. This was the first time we used Allegheny Outfitters. Finally, a first class outfit with great people skills and van drivers who don't drive old rickety, wrecks 80 mph without a care for.their passengers. The ladies at the store were educational and paid attention to every detail and the guys who picked us up 2 days later were courteous and very hard working. They drove safely and impressed us with their maturity for their age. We'll be back!! Strong recommend!!

Just came back from a lovely trip! Made a reservation in advance, but had some very last minute changes. Sue was able to accommodate me and made a better trip recommendation for me and my pups. We had an absolute blast that was totally worth the drive. I hope to come back again in the future for a longer trip with friends :)

I was so impressed with the professionalism and quality of Allegheny outfitters. We came with a party of 13 with mostly kids and it’s was so easy. They had great directions, great gear, and great staff. The store was great too! Lots of local stuff and items that are super unique! Thanks guys!

Gears quit shifting midway through my ride. Aaron was SUPER helpful with squeezing my bike for a tune up (new cable was needed). Couldn’t be more happy with the service! I also left the shop with a sweet tank top and cool sticker! 5 stars all the way!!!

This is a really cool place with lots of great camping and outdoor gear. Staff was really nice and we had a good time. We didn't do the kayaking trip but it looks like a good time.

This is a true gem to have in such a small town. It rivals the variety and number of outdoor-themed goods found in outdoor chain stores in much bigger cities. One can find a plethora of kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, camping, cross-country skiing, and backpacking items here, which matches the multi-use, multi-season nature of the nearby Allegheny National Forest, River, and Reservoir. The well-traveled, experienced staff are super friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. Many locally made, locally themed items are available here as well. A variety of outdoor-themed classes are offered too. Whether you adventure outdoors or simply relax in your yard, there is something here for you.

I rented a couple kayaks from them and they allowed me to bring my small dog. They were super friendly, provided clear directions for navigating the river, and had a great shuttle service. Would definitely recommend for a beautiful and organized kayaking trip!

We were very happy with Allegheny Outfitters. Their staff is helpful and friendly. The on-line booking process was very easy. Their shuttle vans are very nice and their store is awesome. Its also right next to a craft brewery which is nice. We rented a canoe for a day trip from the Kinzua Dam back to their shop in Warren PA - approx 8mi. While they had it as a 4hr paddle, the river had nice flow and we made the trip in about 2hrs. paddling at an easy recreational pace. The scenery is great we saw 2 eagles, king fishers, many ducks and other wildlife. The only minor drawback is the constant sound of traffic from Rt 59 which parallels Allegheny River. The last mile of the trip into Warren passed by United Refining which was not scenic yet interesting in a different way. We also liked the short minor rapids in this area. We enthusiastically recommend Allegheny Outfitters. We will be back to try other day trips and perhaps multi-day trips.

This was my first visit and it's a GREAT looking store!I only picked up a few gift items but they had a great selection of gear for outdoor adventure.The classes and adventure opportunities they offer are very impressive.If you're a fan of the Allegheny National Forest, you'll love the place.If I lived closer, I live in Erie, I'd be taking advantage of their expertise.

I went in search of a map I couldn't find available online and AO had it no problem. Great atmosphere in the store with a large variety of boating and camping stuff like basics and some specialties. A large selection of hammocks caught my eye and camping cookware plus stoves were available outdoor clothing with a variety of prices and styles. They also have bike parts. Seemed like they were very focused and knowledgeable about the local area so a good place to go if you had questions about outdoor activities here. I plan on going back for some more stuff soon

Poor customer service/experience.When checking out they spin a wheel for your chance at a discount. The wheel stopped at ‘15% off’ and the cashier physically adjusted it to ‘free sticker,’ and didn’t acknowledge the discount I had won. After questioning why she moved it, she responded,“Well at least you got something”, and then proceeded to look away.When you are trying to support local businesses and have such a poor experience — it is very frustrating/confusing. They should remove the deal wheel if they don’t plan on honoring it or are selective with the customers who are eligible. Unfortunately, will be taking business else where.

I have relied on Allegheny Outfitters for canoe and kayak rentals as well as shuttling of personal boats, a friendly stop in Warren on our Allegheny River trips, and a source of fantastic up-to-date information on river conditions and safety for years. I highly recommend buying their river guide book if you plan on doing any multi-day trips on the Allegheny. I have a first edition and it's served me well on many trips. 🙂
