We took our long haired cat to Platinum Pooch after 2 years of trying to brush and cut his hair on our own. Our cat hated when we’d come near him with a brush. Our cat started to develop matting and was very uncomfortable. Donna was able to wash him and clip his belly fur with no problem! He looks so good! Best decision we could’ve made.

The worst groomer ever she treated my puppy 8 months I arrived at my appointment she was overwhelmed with dogs one dog got loose from the back .. she abruptly took my dog threw him in the cage he never got groomed before she was telling all the dogs to shut up .. she don’t care about the Dogs she’s a fake her yelling was terrible she scared my pup I was so upset I told her to give me my pup back he was so scared of her she abruptly took me dog out of the cage and threw him at me i was devastated., She is all about getting the dogs out making money she is evil .. her place is so dirty ., she told me she’s single that’s how she makes her money like is she nuts 🌰..Don’t bring your dog there if you live them my pup was traumatized.. I love my dog so much I’m scared to go to groomers now

We've been taking Hugo, our schnauzer mix, to Donna @ Platinum Pooch since 2012. She always does a fantastic job!We have thought about a closer groomer near us in Etna or Glenshaw but when the quality of work is this great, you don't want to take a chance anywhere else.People call her the dog whisperer as she can handle problem dogs. Fortunately ours is an angel....unless you try to trim his paws, then he will turn murderous. Not a problem for Donna! Hugo loves her and trusts her and will put his paw out for her.I tried to give him a trim during Covid and I just don't know how she does it. She really is the best and we wouldn't take Hugo anywhere else!

I had my dog grooming training at this location a few years ago. I cannot express this enough, DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. The owner is a very mean woman both to people and your pets. A training technique she wanted me to use was “squeeze the dogs ear tight so that pain will distract them from having their nails cut” and she would say things like “do not treat them like babies here, they are ANIMALS when they are in my shop” as a response to me trying to pet and talk nice to the animals. After only a few days I knew I did not want to be trained by this woman who was cruel to the animals. I asked her nicely to sign off on my hours so that I could leave which she refused to do. She ended up screaming at me so I left. She immediately called my school and told them lies about me in attempt to have me removed from my schooling. This woman is cruel and unstable. She will not be nice to your pets. I have heard so many awful stories about animals being injured here. Please protect your animal and do not bring them to this woman. She does not deserve to be an animal caretaker.

Donna does an AMAZING job each & every time she grooms my dog!! She’s a perfectionist & pays VERY close attention to detail. After the sudden loss of our previous groomer, I had gone to the store & bought some dog shampoo. The cashier asked if I’d ever used it before. I proceeded to tell her about the sudden loss of our groomer whom we ADORED!! As God would have it, this woman had used the SAME groomer & felt the loss as well. The cashier then went on to tell me about Donna at Platinum Pooch and how, like me, she didn’t trust her dog to just anyone.From the first time I met Donna about 3 or so years ago until today; she’s been a Godsend!! My Mocha gets SO excited when we pull up to the building because she knows that Donna is going to love on her!! You can’t put a price on the service that Donna provides, she’s THAT good!! You won’t be disappointed!!

The platinum pooch is a small, locally owned groomers, and the owner is very passionate about what she does for animals. She'll do grooming services for cats and dogs, and seems to have excellent experience under her belt. The shop is small, but there's a small waiting area and some retail products to browse. She was able to fit me in, same day, for trimming my cats nails. No appointment needed. She operates on word of mouth, so if you ever have grooming needs, consider seeking this shop to not only help small businesses, but to have your animal cared for by someone who truly wants the best for your pet.

I have been living back and forth from Florida and Pittsburgh. My dog’s hair was so matted everywhere and he was very uncomfortable. I have to say, hands down, this is THEE BEST groomer I have ever met! Donna took her time to get to know me and my dog Sproco. My dog felt so comfortable with her that when she was carrying him, his little legs where just like jello. I thought for sure he’d come back bald when she was finished, but no, she took the time to lift the matting so he could have hair. He looked absolutely adorable 😍 My sincere gratitude to her and her excellent work!! I’ll be a client FOREVER!

Love them, would highly recommend the Platinum Pooch! I originally bought a coupon on Living Social, although it is quite a bit from my house I can't be any happier with the services. They gave my puppy her first hair cut, and we have been back every 6 weeks since. I feel so comforted when I leave Lucy with Donna and Jessica. They treat her like she is their own and make me feel like family.I am not the best at setting appointments, but every time I call they went out of their way to fit Lucy in no matter what time of day. They have even offered to come in early.I am not one to write reviews, in fact this is my first, but I have had such great caring service that I wanted everyone to know!

I used to take my dogs here for years while I lived in Penn Hills. Great prices, and the best grooms around.I moved to Monroeville about a year ago. Tried a few places nearby, but none of them were nearly as good, and were more expensive, so I've been coming here again. Absolutely worth the 20 minute commute each way for both value and quality of the grooming!

Donna (the owner) is fantastic! We have a Pekingese and an Old English Sheepdog. Our Pekingese can be tempermental and agressive, and we tried several groomers - none of whom could handle him - before we found The Platinum Pooch almost 2 years ago. Donna is great with both our dogs, and they are actually excited to visit the groomer now. I highly recommend her.

Donna (the owner of Platinum Pooch) is truly a gem. I've been taking my dog Jake who is now almost 16 years old to the Platinum Pooch ever since she opened.Donna is a very careful, meticulous worker. She is very attention oriented, takes her time (yes, she could be quicker, but to whose advantage?), and is in tune with both Jake's needs and mine.The Platinum Pooch provides a safe, sound, and clean atmosphere for both the customer and the pet (Donna also does cats, rabbits, and most pets with fur!).In all the years I've taken Jake to the Platinum Pooch, there honestly have not been any issues noteworthy of any concern.Jake has always been treated with respect and dignity (as well as I!), I've been charged for services very fairly (Donna has the reputation of going above and beyond without charging!).Great place! I'm blessed to have Donna at the Platinum Pooch to attend to Jake's grooming needs!

I would not recommend this place, especially for older pets. I feel that it is a volume based business, meaning, more and faster, which is why both my cat and dog have been significantly nicked by the clippers in the past.The last time my dog was there, his left eye, and right between his eyes were cut pretty bad. Not to mention that that it is now two weeks later, and though he had a flea treatment, he has been pullung his fur out, because he got fleas from being there. Thank god the fleas haven't spread through our house, the flea treatment works, but they die when they bite him, and he has bites all over his back legs. I also had a neighbor on my street say that their pet was polluted with fleas after being there.The owner is nice, and I do believe that she loves the animals that she serves. I just think that the place is pretty dirty and shes rushes through appointments.She did offer to pay for the vet, but after reading other reviews I don't think she would follow through. Also after she knowingly injured my pet, she made sure I paid the bill before I actually got to see him. With the dog and cat, we've spent on the upper side of $400 in vet bills.If you want a cheap quick groomer, this is your place. But if you want to make sure your pet isn't goung to get fleas or be cut, maybe you should spend a little more money and go elsewhere.

Very nice atmosphere and the owner is very knowledgeable in what she does and is extremely efficient. Since my dog wouldn't stay calm while getting his nails cut she even let me come behind the counter to calm him down. Prices are also very fair considering there is always a risk in taking care of an animal that doesn't know you!!

Excellent experience with my difficult Pit Bull...he generally fights when it's time to get his nails cut, but the folks at The Platinum Pooch had no issue with him at all - didn't even need to muzzle him. In fact, I don't think he even knew when they were cutting his nails. The last time I had taken him to the vet to have his nails cut, mayhem ensued. The vet informed me that they would have to completely put him under if I wanted them to trim his nails.The Platinum Pooch works on the basis of trust and respect with the animal, and it's reciprocated. I strongly recommend The Platinum Pooch for your dog grooming needs!

Upon arrival I noticed how dirty and smelly this place was. I understand it’s a dog groomers, but it reeks. I’ve taken two of my dogs here to get their nails cut only. Both dogs used to sit calmly to get their nails cut. After each of the dogs got their nails cut the dogs nails were bleeding and now they are petrified to get their nails cut by anyone. Needless to say I would never take my dogs back here. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone either. I found a place in oakmont that we love and they are only half the price to cut nails.

On May 20, 2016 we took our labradoodle to get groomed at The Platinum Pooch in Verona, PA for the first time. Our appointment was scheduled for 9am and we were told that she would take about 2-2.5 hours to groom. I got a call at 11 stating that our dog was ready to be picked up. We went to get her, and when we showed up at the groomer’s we were told that every few minutes a drop of blood would be on the table from our dog. This was followed by the groomer stating that she had no idea where it was coming from. When we got outside we realized that our dog’s mouth and tongue were bright red. Being that she was at the groomer’s she was panting pretty heavily and we were able to see that there was a cut in her tongue and she was bleeding profusely from it. I called our vet in the car with our dog while my fiancé went back inside to speak with the groomer. The groomer said she wasn’t quite sure what it was from or when it happened, but that our dog was chewing at the crate that she was in. When we left we went straight to our vet because our dog was losing a lot of blood at this point. The vet determined that because she was bleeding so much, they needed to sedate her and stitch up her tongue. A week later we discovered a white spot on our dog’s tongue. We took her back into the vet and they concluded that the tip of her tongue, which had gotten cut at the groomer’s, was indeed dead and that piece would need to be removed. They paid the initial vet bill. They also said that they would refund our money, however we have not received a refund. Our dog had to be sedated, given stitches, and eventually had to lose part of her tongue because of the groomer at The Platinum Pooch.

I would never go anywhere else! The staff at The Platinum Pooch are knowledgeable, friendly and take extra care of my cat! My cat isn't the friendliest and is very anxious, but they make her feel calm and I never have to worry about leaving her for her grooming.

In response to previous review:I am sorry about the unfortunate accident with your pet. We did bring an issue to your attention upon pickup, and honestly stated we were unsure of how the injury occurred. We contacted your vet, on our own, and voluntarily paid the initial vet bill because the accident happened in our location and we felt taking responsibility was the right thing to do. You also expressed to us that you left your last groomer because the dog was having issues in the crate. We have not been contacted regarding the post injury complications. However being made aware of the following issues now we will be contacting both you and the veterinarian promptly. Even though this was not a grooming injury we intend on doing everything we can to right the situation. We have a low incident rate in our salon, we intend to keep it that way, and have not in anyway taken this incident lightly.

The first and LAST time we took our pup to this groomer they traumatized him. We picked him up and noticed the hair on his tail had been chopped at jaggedly and we don’t even get his hair cut because he’s a lab!! He went to a new groomer recently and was TERRIFIED because of his last experience at platnum pooch. He never had a problem with the groomers before going Platnum Pooch. NEVER TAKE YOUR BABIES HERE.

Great staff, They do a wonderful job on our two siberian huskies titan and diesel. They walk out of the store like rockstars! The dogs are so happy after their appointments! Not too many people deal with let alone do as good as a job as these people do on huskies! Only downfall is parking. Because there is none if there is alot of street traffic. But ill take no parking anyday if it means my boys get their head to toe maintence. Great job, Highly recommended.
