I called like 6 different giant eagles no one had my husband's favorite Swiss lemon ice. I call verona giant eagle and a peppy voice answered the phone here name was Jessica she went and looked for me she said they had 6 I asked her could she hold 2 foe for me would be there in 45 min.she said they would be service desk.she was very thoughtful didn't want them to sir out put in cooler in front of store.SHE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND AND PUT UP THE PHONE DIDNT HAVE TO PRESS THIS I R THAT THANK YOU JESSICA U MADE MY HUSBANDS DAY!!!!

Overpriced for the quality and selection. Dairy items get warm and spoil before the date because the doors don't close and the seals are missing. Herbs arm not kept stocked well, often have to ask an associate to bring more out.

I love my local Giant Eagle. The management is very accessible and accommodating. I love my butcher Tim and his wife in the deli. I am a transplant from Maryland but I have seen many of the same faces these past 6 years and they are all great. As a local chef in Oakmont they have been a lifesaver in a pinch.

Updated Review 2/11/2024This store has really cleaned up significantly and seems to be moving forward in many departments. I am upgrading my review from 1 star to a 4 star. Nice work.Initial ReviewI don't like writing bad reviews but sometimes I feel it's necessary. While doing my weekly shopping I stopped by the bakery department. I noticed a large dirty looking bakery employee not only picking his nose (in front of both customers and co-workers) but also placing some kind of product on a tray without gloves. I put my items back and left the store in disgust. I feel this store is going down hill. I don't believe I'll be shopping here again.

I typically go to Market District in Fox Chapel, but it was late, so I decided to make a quick run here. Boy, it would have been worth driving out to Fox Chapel!!! This is the worst Giant Eagle!I was only to the first part of the veggies and was already realizing I should have gone to the other store. ALL of the stocks of celery were damaged. They had been frozen and then thawed.. you know how i mean right, ladies? Lettuce was the same. The bananas were the only thing that was decent. The store was just a mess. Plus, they were out of a bunch of stuff and don't offer as much.I will say... the girl standing at the self check out was very friendly. That was refreshing.I guess I'm just spoiled by Market District with all they have to offer, plus the ability to check out my groceries as I shop. It just saves so much time and frustration. As small as this store is, they should consider it so that there are no longer lines like always.

I like the store and the employees. But a lot of the price locked product that are advertised or not the same price in the store as advertised on television.

This review is not about the store directly, but a particular employee i had an encounter with. I was standing in line to check out and suddenly felt my sugar dropping. I was right beside the orange juice cooler and decided I better have some. I grabbed a small bottle and proceeded to chug it. The next thing I knew an employee was beside me and asking if I was ok. He was so kind and concerned. I told him i was better and thanked him. Once I got through the check out, I was on a mission to find this man. I asked a cashier his name and she called him to the front. His name was Jeff. I just felt the need to thank him again. Now I want his boss to know what a special employee he is. Thank you again for caring.

The store is very clean. The workers were helpful, pleasant, and had a sense of humor. Their hot foods section didn't look greasy like most places. I hadn't been to this Giant Eagle in years but, I'm going to have to start going back.

The prices here are out of touch with reality. Lots of the produce is by weight, so expect a head of Napa cabbage - which you can get for 3-4 bucks at other stores in the Burgh - will be 14 dollars. Prices on lots of basic goods and especially EBT goods went up by about 50% here over the past year, including canned beans? which is just pure greed. Employees are good though, and the hot foods counter is still really affordable and quite good in quality.

I am a bit bias towards it cause i work here..the employees are wonderful and so is the managment...i have been here for years and trust me the employees and 98 percent of the customers keep me there..what a great group of people..❤

Since they got a new bakery manager, the pastries and donuts have gone down hill. And the prices are going up hill. My donut is 2steps from being burnt. And it had a weird after taste to it

Don’t bother with the hot food counter unless you intend on purchasing utensils and condiments. After my food was packaged I asked for utensils. I was told ‘we stopped putting those out during Covid’. I was told I could purchase some in the store if needed. I gave the food back and left. And considering nobody else that works there sees the issue, I’ll simply do my business elsewhere.Imagine if Panera Bread told you that spoon for your soup cost extra or that they just don’t provide any. This is the level of idiocy I won’t tolerate. For reference, see movie: Idiocracy. It’s where we are headed so I recommend doing some research.

They have everything. But I only go there when I absolutely have to. It's so busy. It's expensive. Their sales are ok for the most part but if it's not on sale, it's definitely cheaper somewhere else. The good thing about it is their catering sandwiches are reasonably priced and very tasty! We always order their sandwich rings or sliders!UPDATE: I tried to get the sliders at another local grocery store. They tasted fine but they were no where near as nice and well put together. GEs are for sure worth the few extra dollars!

Social distancing NOT allowed. I’ve been coming here for a couple years now, and it has always struck me as weird how the nosey cashiers seem so very put off by outsiders here. I really can’t use the self checkout without one of them running up to see what I put in my bags, and today it just finally hurt my feelings to the point that I decided never to come back.

I played power ball . I asked for four power ball tickets with xtra ball (power play). Then proceeded to buy 2 more tickets power ball , double play with xtra ball( power play)(went home and looked at my tickets) she only gave me one ticket with double play SCREWED EVERYTHING UP!NEVER PLAY LOTTERY HERE! Completely illiterateI bought a bus connects card ask for the same amount it would be for a weekly pass. The same location who handles lottery, activates connects card. 25$ for emergency situation I wanted…. Giant Eagle put 25 on for a dated time of a week to use!!! So instead of having emergency transportation connects card for bus of 25$ I could use at my discussion she decided to actually put a date to use my $25 I went to get on the bus and had no money because I had no idea she gave me a dated card. When I confronted them they wouldn’t even put money back on my card so I literally threw $25 in the garbage when I walked in that store. And again with the Powerball they waste my time and my money.

It's a big store. I did buy some prepared already cooked chicken. Well it was like chewing on shoe leather and some of it was hard as a rock. They did refund me my money after I called and talked to the manager. Besides that it's a nice place.🤔

I go to Verona GIANT Eaglethree to four times a week.The produce is nice and fresh,lunch meat fresh and always tastes good, and the meats are priced reasonable with many savings / and specials. The managers and all the workers are always pleasant and very helpful.Hope all viewing this review will be as pleased as i am to shop at this store.Oh and forgot to mention the bakery,very pleasing to the sweet tooth.Have a good day!

I went in the early afternoon, the person taking my order in the drive-thru was polite and the young man was polite as well. The food was hot and the drinks were refreshing. The only thing wrong was no napkins and the sauce THEY asked me if I wanted was missing.

We have the best, the friendliest, and efficient store around. It's very clean and the staff.are.always supporting the mgmt staff in providing great service. You can always find the mgmt throughout the store making sure everything is just as it should be to running the registers to packing groceries or serving up fresh fish. It's not a.market district.....it's better!

be careful using uber in this shopping center, there's a scumbag cop who sneaks around the parking lot giving $200 tickets to drivers picking people up near the curb & saying they're driving in the wrong lane. he sits there all day doing laps around the parking lot, harassing the public not even half a mile from the police station

While it needs a little work organizing produce in a order that make sense and easier for shoppers. This place is one of my favorite Giant Eagle stores.Most of their product is fresh all the time and they have nice and friendly staff.

This is the better giant eagle in the area. I do believe all giant eagles are overpriced, but this one is clean and the staff are friendly. The food cooked home made here is okay... nothing special. The bakery is okay too, decent cakes and good donuts. I do not like to shop at giant eagle because the prices are so high, but there are no other grocery stores in the area. This is nicer than the penn hills one, and cleaner. It is also in a nicer area.
