How good you ask?It’s so good I would drive 10 miles out of my way just to eat their ice cream / custardAnd as of May 2023, they are hiring.So have you kid work here, and every time you pick them up after work, you may as well get a waffle cone or something (since you are already there anyway).

There are lots of excellent flavors of hard ice cream that I have yet to try because I can't seem to pass up the Frozen Custard flavor of the week in a twist cone. I have found that the small is all I need for a pleasurable experience and allows me to look forward to next week's flavor of the week

I cannot imagine what isn’t to like about an ice cream joint. They offer the standard frozen custard flavors and feature a single flavor (this week was Black Cherry). They have lots of hard serve options, large portion sizes and plenty of toppings. A few benches are out front for seating and plenty of parking. Would definitely stop by again!

We stop here on occasion on Sundays. There was some confusion with the orders, but it was worked out. Milkshake was good. The dog loves his dog dish treat.

Always nice to have Hammer's in the local community. While a bit on the expensive side, the quality is always great and they do say they use better ingredients which makes the prices understandable (not to mention the covid/inflation impact). Haven't tried their regular food before, but the ice cream has always been good, especially their "tornado" option!

This is a classic place to visit. The ice cream is so great and wonderful. We like to come up here on a hot sunny day and I enjoy it every time just like the first time i had it all over again. I recommend coming here and trying it with just yourself or your family.

The custard and food items are reliably tasty. Sometimes it takes a while to get your order at the walk-up window, but the drive through is not bad. Overall, a totally decent summer staple with a wide variety of choices.

Great custard and ice cream! Will definitely go back. However, the orange powder in the orange custard of the week was not mixed in well enough and was very grainy. But overall a great place! 👍

My son, he's almost 7 months old, just had his first bite of ice cream here and he loved it! Plus, my husband dropped his cone.... And the girl saw and ran him out a new one without my husband coming to the counter to say anything. Super nice people and would definitely recommend to our friends.

Their ice cream is amazing! The flavor of the week is always a crowd pleaser. My only gripe is the small patio space that is next to Rt 8, but at least it's in the shade. It's definitely worth going for the ice cream!

Delicious creamy homemade custard. Excellent rotating flavors. Love how they stay true to their old time recipe. Only suggestion is improve the seating in the back to try to reduce the noise due to Rt 8 and increase the ambience. Love the drive thru option! This place has the best ice cream in Pittsburgh.

My husband likes hard ice cream I like soft serve, so this place is great for both. My husband seemed impressed by the peanutbutter milkshake, which he is normally very picky about PB. The only downside is that it seems always busy whenever we go regardless of the day. I guess not a bad thing for them.

Their ice cream is pretty good BUT... the staff was all inside wrestling each other while the line was clearly waiting from r their order! There is a window on the side that we could see in and they obviously were not doing their job. It took forever and when the one finally won, they jumped up and took our order after we waited about 5 minutes right outside the window. It wasn’t the first time I had this experience here.

Big portions, good prices. The Rockin Road looked delicious. I made the mistake of getting Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup. It advertised that it was chocolate ice cream, but it's more like peanut butter ice cream. Not great. Parking is tight. Better to park at the business just south of it, so you can get in and out more easily. They have a small pavilion outback, which was good for our soccer team.

Hmmm, milkshakes! I was driving around my old stomping grounds and stopped in. It used to be Johnston's dairy queen. They added a few things to their menu, but I just got a milkshake. Can't go wrong with that. It's a little pricey, but it was good.

Great local ice cream spot. They seem to have a decent list of food too but I usually just go for ice cream. I have particularly fond memories of this place from my high school days. It's usually busy but the service is fast enough!

Hello. I am a little disappointed that google states that Hammers is open on Sunday from 1130 am to 10 pm. I called at 925 pm to confirm the hours and I was advised that the closing time was correct. We arrived at 945 pm only to be told that you were closed. I understand that mistakes happen. It is a bit frustrating that I could not find any hours listed on your website and the google hours contradict what I was told. It would be great if the hours were correct. The icecream is good here and it would have been worth the trip if you were open.
