Heard nothing but great reviews of this place from friends that have visited here so on Easter of all days we figured we would make the drive and see if they were even open and surprisingly they were! From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the friendliest employees all with a smile! There are tons of things to peruse and purchase and the greatest thing is the food you can buy to take outside to feed the deer that will come right up to you and eat straight out of your hand, my girlfriend was ecstatic about that! So if ever you are in the area we highly recommend stopping in and seeing for yourself the hospitality is still alive and well here!

We stopped on our way to Colton Point. This place was amazing, they were really nice and the stuff was priced well. We loved feeding the deer!!!

The people that own this are just too darn cute!! We got to talk to them on our summer trip this year, and we got to feed the deer and look at all they had to offer in this shop. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Nice place to spice up your day before going to the stargazing field. :)

Have been there since the new owners! They were very nice. Happy there wasn't any crazy changes (happens a lot in New hands) can't wait to come back again next trip , the kids love feeding the deer and we will probably try the blaster game! Oh and can't forget the Mining rocks

Beautiful deer and you can feed them a cup of food from inside the store,then half priced refill cup, kid's loved it and they enjoyed the gem bags we bought also. Grandkids ask to go a lot to see the deer and possibly pet one but digging in the sand for gems or arrowheads made it more fun for them. Last couple times there it was raining but kid's still enjoyed themselves tremendously. Great place for young kid's, don't think teens would be impressed unfortunately and as an adult it's great watching the kid's enjoying things they don't do on a normal day to day

My daughter and her boyfriend took us there because they said it was a neat little local shop. And they were right. Lots of neat local touristy items. Had some of ice cream and then fed the deer. Something fun to do and the kids will love it. It's not something you can do just anywhere.

Nice stop out of the way on Rt 6. Folks were kind and they had a nice selection of items in store. Deer were fun to watch. Mining is closed for winter.

Great selection of gifts, and very friendly staff. We went to feed the deer and were so happy with our experience! Even got the bonus of feeding chickens. Definitely a good stop to make for a fun quick activity.

Disgusting Abusive Service and Behavior. We've been stopping here for years; when we come up for vacation. NEVER AGAIN. If i could give negative stars I would. I have an emotional support pet (which I have paperwork for). The man who claims he’s the owner of the store started to scream in front of everyone at me. My dog is a teacup yorkie in a carrier. She is not going to do anything to anyone in the store. I tried being as nice as possible and he kept insulting me and my child. I didn’t care but as soon as he started yelling at my daughter I WAS DONE. This is disgusting behavior and this man should not be making money while acting this way to his customers. Please do NOT go here.

I stop here sometimes when staying at my family’s cabin. It changed owners several years ago and they have a nice selection of Potter County tee shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. I also purchased my bike here.

Great place for family's to visit. There are plenty of games and things to do. The deer are adorable. The big deer is pushy and takes the cups. I gave 4 stars because the people inside the gift shop made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I probably would have bought a lot more if they didn't make it feel like they did. There prices are really good if you can stand the uncomfortable feelings.

Nice little shop. It was fun to feed the deer and watch them for a bit. The kids love the mining activity and the ice cream. The new owners were very kind and even gave us a little extra ice cream when my daughter got upset that she was going to have to share with her sister!

Apparently the only tourist trap, I mean gift shop, in the area. Large shop sells tshirts, shoes, guns, and too many gaudy Chinese made trinkets and other junk that nobody needs. A large enclosure on the side has fallow deer that you can look at or feed with the food they sell in the store. A good spot to entertain your bored kids, let them feed the deer or "pan" for polished stones. Plenty of parking.

I went there this past week with my nephew from out of state we had a conversation with a older gentlemen about the bows in the back of the store and the really sweet lady who ran the register helped me and my mom find hypoallergenic earrings we could wear we also enjoyed the delicious ice cream and bought a few bags of sand for the gem mining. We all had a really great time and everyone was really sweet and we'll informed!

I had a blast at this place! Absolutely loved loved loved feeding the deer. Cups of food are available inside for a small fee. It was definitely worth it for the experience. There was other things for the kids like a sluce to pan for gems and some air blasters. Made for a great road side diversion!

Had fun feeding the deer & the woman & young lady behind the register were very pleasant the man (Shawn) not so much. We were broke down literally 3 minutes up the road & he would NOT let us borrow the needed tool or take 5 mins out of his oh so busy (sarcasm) day to help us. Spent quite a bit of money in the gift shop but will not go back, I will also tell my friends not to bother.

Been going here since I was 5 its a great place for kids to inter act with wild life and have fun feeding deer. The gift shop is a little pricey but it helps keep the deer well taken care of. I really recommend it for anyone with kids.

*Edit*Awesome owners (2 years ago).New owners (or whomever rang us out) don't feel as if they enjoy what they do.We attempted to use our credit card, and instead of simply stating that the machine was down, or broke. She said "it's not working, that's why we have signs here, here, here, and here"Listen, all you needed to do is say it once.We have been visiting this gift shop for over 20+ years as we come here for vacation.Next year, might opt to drive buy.You can see the professional response from the owner.If talking about obvious... Why would you leave the credit machine on the counter if it wasn't working.Also, the signs were not in plain view, or she would not have had to point them out."We apologize for you inability to understand reason"And you want to call me out about observation and common sense?You are not even observing your grammar.

Best place in the world. Always enjoy stopping there on my way home. Sometimes it makes me sad because the deer used to always run up to for food or just an interaction, but now they just sit in the shade. I hate having to spend almost double of what the original price was for food to feed the deer that dont come up.

I have been visiting this place for over 20 years. It was the best back in the day but has switched owners and seen some updates and changes throughout the past few years. It's a great place to spend a few hours with the family, feeding deer, gem mining, or eating some ice cream 🍦

We brought the grandkids for the gem mining and the deer feeding. They also have ice cream. They have an outside blaster game that had closed before we got there so we didn't get to try it. It is a fun stop for kids.

Just think the gentlemen that worked there could've handled a situation with more class instead of getting heated and arguing with customer's, then proceeded to gossip about the situation to other customers. I've worked in customer service and I've had unpleasant situations that I had to deal with, and I would never talk to/ treat someone the way he treated us. I usually ignore stuff like this, however, I just thought it was unprofessional.*edit*I would love for the audio of the surveillance camera of the situation to be shown, you clearly don't know how to talk to people or deal with customer's. After insinuating that my mother doesn't know how to read you then said "if you're offended then that's your own fault", obviously a very professional response. She then inquired about your return policy which you followed us inside speaking over us without giving us the opportunity to even ask about the return policy. Then yeah my mom got upset and gave attitude, which usually happens after being disrespected. I will say the lady was very respectful and knew how to talk appropriately to already upset customers.

I LOVE this place. It is a great stop on Route 6 if you are looking for a break from driving. There is amazing coffee, wonderful ocean coffee, gem shifting and you can feed the beautiful deer that live there.
