This place is a Cute, Unique, old fashioned style, ice cream, and quick variety food stop. There is a few seating inside and seating outside as well. I recommend you to stop in and try a few things on the menus!! good selections of soft served ice cream, sundaes, snacks, etc and regular foods, even coffee from a local place! Good prices as well and cool, nice, atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff and quick service.👍Just check it out

So, we drove by and saw it was busy one night and figured it must be good. We decided to stop for lunch, wasn't busy. I ordered a chicken sandwich with lettuce tomato and mayo and my boyfriend ordered a cheeseburger with the same and fries and a drink.... The lady couldn't hear us and she repeated the order. It clearly states on the board; chicken sandwich (lettuce tomato and mayo). He goes and gets the order....he has a super tiny plain burger and I have a chicken PARM on the plate. They had an issue with the lady ahead of us so we decided to just eat what was given and leave. It was $19 for a burger and chicken sandwich smaller than what you'd get at a MacDonalds. It was good but not worth the money and getting our order and the lady ahead of us, orders wrong...Maybe the ice cream is better.

It used to be "Good ice cream and inexpensive". But now my review is "larger pieces and smaller portions".I've been coming here for 8 years. This year, the prices jumped considerably and the portions are much smaller than before. If I have to drop this much for ice cream, I'm going to the competition in Kutztown. At least there i get a reasonable amount for what I paid.We're done coming here.

Don't go if its busy! Happened once before, I stand there waiting for a simple cone of ice cream, others who ordered after me get their food, when I asked where my cone was the staff had no idea, I guess they lost my slip. The place is chaos when busy, they have no sense of order or how to run the food aspects. Time before that I was there I was handed a cone that was half falling over already. I was expected to take it and try to manage the mess, so I asked for a cup. Done with the place now, it shouldn't be this challenging, its just ice cream and fast food.

Cute little Mom-n-Pop stop. Not really a drive-in, maybe at one point it was?Smaller menu, but everything was fresh. Our dinner for 2 cost lest than $18, too!They also serve amazing soft serve ice cream with different flavors you don't normally see with a special flavor of the week.Highly recommend if you're on a limited budget looking for good, fresh food.Outside seating is available.

After having a really frustrating day, I found myself approaching an old fashioned roadside eatery and decided to treat myself to the type of lunch I haven't had in decades. I enjoyed a fresh, piping hot, meaty cheeseburger with kraut, sweet potato waffle fries and a cool, refreshing milk shake. Sooo good, and it hit the spot. By the time I finished I forgot what I was so frustrated about and had a terrific leisurely drive through the rolling hills of the nearby beautiful corn country all the way home. This retro treasure reminded me of similar places that live in memories of my happy youth. A good-feeling treat.

Terrific little drive-in type place. The food is good, for what it is, and the staff is friendly enough. The only reason Herman's is missing a star is because it seems like almost every time my family orders food, something goes wrong. Either something is missing or incorrect or we get charged the wrong price for an item. So just pay attention to what they charge you, make sure you get all the right food, and enjoy the deliciousness! Don't forget the ice cream.

It's a cute little neighborhood fast food/ice cream joint, staffed mostly by local students. Good place for quick food with the family, but the quality is just okay. Nothing super special, except for waffle and icecream nights!

Herman's is a great neighborhood soft ice cream shop with a selection of food items as well.Watch for their flavor of the week as you drive by, building anticipation for your next visit.They created (as far as I know) a premade treat called a, "Dipstick" where they slice a banana once lengthwise, squirt ice cream on one of the sliced faces, finish the sandwich with the other banana piece, dip the whole thing in chocolate and optionally put on chopped peanuts. Should you want to take this to the next level, ask for half a dozen when the flavor of the week is peanut butter ice cream. Don't forget to stock up for the winter as they are not open all year.

Overpriced soft serve ice cream and microwaved frozen food. They also nickel and dime you for toppings. This place has so much potential if the owners were passionate about making good food to deserve the prices they charge. If they served good food they could stay open all year. Topton needs a good burger place and you don’t need a 4 Star Chef to do it. A little effort and the passion to serve good food could make this place a local destination rather than just a seasonal ice cream stand.

Well so much for supporting local. We will go elsewhere from now on. Very rude. We did not know you had to call ahead. Stood right there and called in a small ice cream order and was told 15 minutes. Pity the poor elderly gentleman that wanted 2 cheeseburgers but hadn't called in either. Not sure if he got them or not. They tell you to give front line workers your respect...well they need to learn that also
