This vet has been great when going for normal check ups. The staff there is very friendly and attentive. The BIGGEST complaint I have is their staff who answer the phones. EVERY SINGLE TIME I try to call when something is going on with my pet, I either get hung up on, put on hold for hours (sometimes even having to call back in multiple times), or sit on hold for hours to just directed to voicemail. I REFUSE to leave a voicemail because I have in the past and no one has ever called me back. The communication here needs to get better. Honestly have thought about canceling my pet plan and going to a different vet. I have worked in customer service for years so I know how things are supposed to be handled. VERY DISSAPOINTED! Do Better.

My cat got out and was lost for 10 days before we managed to trap him. When we got him back he was very skinny and I knew he needed to be looked at ASAP. Even my own clinic couldn't fit him in, but this Banfield, though busy already, graciously squeezed us in. It was a long drive from home, but worth it.We were there about 2.5hrs and they had to take him in the back a few times for everything but did blood work, pulled multiple ticks off him (some very tiny and he is very fluffy-unfortunately he wasn't wearing his seresto collar when he got outside), cleaned his ears, gave him SQ fluids to help rehydrate him, updated his rabies vaccine (I couldn't remember the date of his last one, so better safe than sorry!), caught the beginning of a URI and got meds for that, gave him some Rx urinary food he's usually on to keep him happy, poor little skeleton, AND, through his blood work, realized he is hyperthyroid... but just very early in the disease because he hasn't even been showing symptoms at home yet. So we got a Rx for compounded meds to start him on and a plan moving forward. I completely forgot at the time, and the vet didn't mention the option of radiation therapy for hyperthyroidism (look up Radiocat), so I was a little annoyed getting home and realizing that hadn't been mentioned. But Dr Moffitt knew I am a vet tech and so probably knew I am aware of that treatment and was just getting me the medication to hold us over while we figured things out. It was a lot of stuff going on, after all.Sabrina was the tech assisting Dr Moffitt with our case and she, along with everyone else who cared for Francis Bernard, our kitty, was very gentle and calm with him. Exactly what he needed as he grew up feral and is still jumpy, even without having spent 10 days outside hiding who knows where.I think the receptionist was Britt, and she was also very helpful and kind.I also saw a former coworker, Kirsten, a fellow Certified Veterinary Technician, who transferred to this location, and was very happy to see her because I knew if she was working on my cat at all in the back, he'd be getting great care.We're very appreciative of everything everyone did for our baby, even though they were so busy already. 🙏Pic at home, two at the doctor's (husband was able to calm him the best in between treatments), and finally back home on the couch where he belongs!

We have been coming here for 14 years. It used to be great! The past two years they have drastically declined. They have been randomly closed because they don’t have a doctor, always call and try to get you to drop off and attempt to talk you out of in room appointments. I specifically tell them IN ROOM ONLY and they always call and ask me to drop off. The front office staff is very rude and there is clearly no communication. Our 14 year old Lab was in a lot of pain, crying, panting, having trouble walking and falling. I stated the issues above and was given one option five days from the date I called. They tried doing the drop off thing AFTER I expressed our dogs distress. I said we have been a customer there for 14 years, she needs seen tomorrow, we do not have much time left with her and I’m not dropping her off to sit in a cage. AFTER I said that I miraculously got an appointment the next day. When I explained the situation they should have had compassion and understood the urgency. At our last appointment we determined it is best to keep our dog comfortable with medication management. I specifically asked the doctor if we need to book another appointment in order to get her refills. Dr Moffit said no and I asked again, knowing they give you a hard time for an in room appointment and act like you will have to wait so much longer for an appointment if you don’t drop off. I called for refills and the front office insisted she needed seen and that it was in the notes. After expressing my frustration of their miscommunication I was told it clearly says in the notes she needs seen. They called back 5 minutes later to say that she doesn’t need to be seen. When we picked up the medication 2 weeks ago we asked if we had to pay for bloodwork at our appointment today (we have been on the plan since day 1) no she said. Today we were told we had to pay for the bloodwork. I am beyond frustrated and I paid the bill. They told us that they would call us with the results to go ahead and leave. When they called and suggested we purchase another medication I said we are almost home. She responded with not today, I’m just giving you options and our recommendations. I said ok thank you and she HUNG UP. Did not say bye, was clearly annoyed and literally hung up on me. If our dog had more than a few months of life left we would find veterinarian services elsewhere.

Although the staff has always been very friendly and professional, this vet is always difficult to get a hold and has poor availability. I've been trying to get an appointment for my two dogs and it takes forever to get a hold of the scheduler and once I get a hold, appointments are 4-5 months away!?!?! Definitely, moving on....

The DR, Assistants, and front desk are always so helpful and knowledgeable. They are very fast and efficient at the front desk, but will take the time to address any concerns you may have. Love Banfield and their wellness plans!

I am very upset and confused. I have been dealing with a mass my dog had on his back since July of 2023. I was there twice for the same thing and it cost me over $200 each time and they basically did nothing. I had another appointment in the beginning of January for it to be surgery removed and they canceled that and rescheduled for end of January. So i took him in on a tuesday for surgery and by Thursday the wound had opened up. So i called them and they got him in and was there from 9am til 530 pm. He was never taking out to go to the bathroom, he had lost his voice from barking so much. They put staples in to seal half the wound and wanted more money again. They told me on the phone the dont guarantee there work after you leave there hospital post surgery. I am very upset that my dog has to suffer all day and all they cared about was money. To top it all of they greeted me with saying hi what is ur name and dogs name. So i provided that info and then they said this is how much you owe. So sad how less they care about there animals and much more about the money.

We have been taking our pets here for over 10 yrs. Dr. Moffett is the best! Prices can be high and they seem to like to push certain things. I just politely decline and they don't usually ask again.

I had an appointment at this location, but when I went there it was closed. My dog had to endure pain for an additional 2 hours before I took him to an emergency vet.They were quick to send me an email asking to add a payment method before my appointment, but they failed to notify me the location was closed or my appointment was cancelled.I am never visiting another banfield.

Today I visited the hospital with my mom. During our visit, we received the unfortunate news that our pup was full of cancer and we had to make the decision to humanely euthanize. I just want to commend the techs as well as the doctor that we interacted with - today was a BUSY day and I used to work in the vet med field, so I know how difficult it is to be present when your mind is going in so many different directions. The technicians as well as the vet (unfortunately, I didn't catch anyone's names) were so kind and had the absolute BEST bedside manner. Thank you for making this as easy for my mom as possible - Bella was her best friend. It truly means the world to me that you took the time to speak with her and let her know that her decision - whatever it might be - was the right one.

They are good with my kitties and try and squeeze them in even when they have a fully booked schedule. They put the well being of your pet first. I appreciate that they always follow up with you in the days and weeks after care to make sure they are improving and feeling better.

I have been to this place twice. The first time was with my cat Nibbler. They treated him so very well I was in shock.The second time, sadly, we found out my Sadie Sue cat had a bad infection and thus causing her a lot of pain. Not having the funds for emergency surgery it was the 2and hardest decision in my life.Dr. Moffiett (sp) and their staff were very friendly, kind, caring, compassionate and very supportive. They let me hold my baby kitty when she was put to sleep.This place is very transparent with their decisions and what would be and not be good for your animal.I highly recommend this facility and plan on continuing the care for my cat Nibbler to keep going here.Yes, as all vets go, this place is a little expensive. However, they are not about rolling in the money. They are truly concerned about your pets well being.

We unfortunately had to put our beloved, almost 15 year old family dog to rest. It was the hardest thing for my boyfriend and I to have to do, but the staff there was so beyond amazing through everything. They all were so sweet and caring. They gave us the time we needed with our, Buddy boy. Even though we were sobbing and beyond sad, the vet took her time, explained everything and Was so gentle in every way. We chose the private cremation and everything went as smooth as it could be in that time. Our baby boy was treated with dignity and respect in the process of us having to take him, the whole way until I had to pick up his remains. I can’t thank the staff enough for everything. Thank you for making us and our baby comfortable in such an aweful circumstance.

We pay monthly for a wellness program for 12 months no matter what you are stuck with the contract and it says unlimited office visits but good luck trying to find an appointment..

Jay at the front desk was very professional and Alisha absolutely loves what she does! Dr Moffett is a BOSS of a clinician, I’m very impressed! They initially told me that some called and canceled my apt but that wasn’t me or my wife, so they may have cancelled the wrong apt… Minus the scheduling snafu excellent service !

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable extra large breed dog vet, you can find one here! If you have an extra large dog, you know how hard it is to find one! My new mastiff puppy was having problems and I suspected a uti. It was Saturday early evening and I was struggling to find anyone to see her. This location was able to see her today (Sunday) thankfully! She saw Dr. Moffiett and I was shocked when she agreed with me to wait to spay her. Finally I found a vet who knows their stuff! I didn’t plan on staying at this vet, I really just needed someone to see her ASAP cause I could tell she was uncomfortable. After speaking with her I decided to stay and even got the wellness plan for all her shots and made an appointment for my other mastiff to be seen there as well. I feel so relieved to have a vet on the same page as me for what’s best for my dogs and not having someone telling me to spay my new pup at 6 months which is way before her proper time. I think when I go back I’m gonna ask her to put it in writing so I can get my boyfriend’s family off my back about it as well. Very impressed and happy to know we’re in good hands. Every one was caring, knowledgeable and polite while she was there even during this stressful pandemic.

We've been going here for almost a year. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. They have awesome follow up after every visit. We have a Bernese Mountain pup and he loves the staff! The doctors are very knowledgeable and give us all the info, not opinions, so we can make what we feel is the decisions for our pup. We did the puppy plan, which can't be beat! Covered all shots and neuter and vet visits. Very affordable and the care is excellent. We will continue with this office even after the puppy plan is up.

I love the Pittsburgh Mills Banfield location! This staff has repeatedly proven to be incredibly caring toward my pet over the past few years. The techs and vets are incredible. The level of care we receive coupled with the ease of scheduling and affordable prices are unmatchable. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
