We were walking by and wanted to grab a cup of coffee. We came in and ended up getting an hour of cat-time ($10/hr) and some lattes.The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. They gave around 10 cats that they get from the rescue and assist in getting the cats adopted/ socialized (and you get cat time). Their cat area is clean with lots of nooks and crannies for the cats. They can fit ~8 people so if you want cat time be sure to book ahead.The coffee was solid and the gift shop area was cute. Next time I'm in tamaqua I'd stop by for the coffee (and the cats are a plus too)!

We stopped by today on our way through. I had no idea it was here until I was looking for something nearby and came across it. I am so glad we stopped. The owners are super friendly and the shop is adorable. I love the coal mine theme. It’s a great place to stop by and relax for a bit supporting a great cause

The trip I took here for my birthday was one of the best experiences I could ask for. From the staff who cares so much about the cats and have endless knowledge of all of them, the coffee being quite tasty and the selection of unique gifts. This place was beyond my expectations. I highly suggest this as a fun little trip!

I really loved my visit here. Here's what I enjoyed:1. The owners are chatty and friendly.2. The cat den is huge. It's nice to see the cats well taken care of.3. Parking was easy to find. It was street parking.4. There was a small gift shop. I bought a bunch of cat-themed stickers. They also have shirts and cute car air freshners that look like a paw print.5. It's $10 for 45+ minutes. The owners let my friend and I have an extra 20 minutes since no one else was scheduled immediately after us.6. All the cats, of all ages and appearances, are able to be adopted! I love the vision of this place.Cons: Coffee was basic, and I felt the term "Cafe" is a bit loose here. I would like to see more coffee syrup options. The coffee is also given to you and you fill the cup with whatever flavor or milk you like, which is fine by me. However, I felt they could've been more creative with the drink names and mixed flavors together to make a signature drink.Of course, this place just opened not long ago, so I'm sure it will grow and critique whatever needs to be changed.Overall, I'd come here again! Thank you for the wonderful experience! I hope all these cute furbabies find their special home!

A+++! An absolute diamond of a Cat Cafe in the middle of Pennsylvania Coal Country. Owners Kim & Ron have created a safe, spotlessly clean, bright and fun environment for the rescue cats awaiting adoption and the guests! The cats were calm, sociable and well cared for. All available for adoption. The cappuccinos and latttes rival the best of European capitals. A cat lovers gift area with original pins, jewelry and mugs. This cafe is run with a lot of love and hard work. Completely worth the drive from nyc and Philadelphia. I can’t wait to visit again.

I wasn’t a big fan. I thought this was something different - more cafe and less cats but there’s nowhere to really drink your coffee or enjoy your pastry/snack. When you book, you can be in the small room with 4 other people you don’t know and to be honest, there’s maybe room comfortably with max 4 adults. Max 6 people per session. I don’t think the space with cats is pretty big. If other parties in your time frame arrive late, you have to hear the same speech over again.

Do you like cats? Do you stop to pspspsps every cat you see? If so, Coal Cats Cafe is the place for you! You walk into a small shop with trinkets & a little coffee bar, which is all wonderful on its own but for $10 a person, you get to meet & spend time with the kitties. My boyfriend & I came here recently [after hearing about it on tiktok] & spent quality time loving on the cats.Be careful though, if you aren't able to adopt one, you'll soon find yourself checking their FB for updates [weekly or daily] & texting your boyfriend "so & so found a home!!"10/10, we will be back! Excellent way to spend an afternoon!

The staff was one of the most friendliest, nicest people we've ever met. The store they had, had such cute stuff for reasonable prices. The coffee was delicious! Oh and the cats were the sweetest little beans. Someone needs to go adopt Ms Fanta, she is so soft, so fun, and so sweet. All the cats there really were amazing. I highly recommend this place for all of your cat, coffee, and adoption needs! :)

Definitely should stop by, the cats are very social and like to play.The drinks are very basic but they are not very expensive, and do taste very good, and are much more consistent then the Dunkin in town.It IS more about the cats then the drinks because that is literally the point of the place so don't be to surprised.They do have soda and water if you don't want coffee or hot coco but still want something while playing with the cats.The 'gift shop' is nice it is small but not cluttered has a lot of cute little things for sale. I got my cat some cat toys while i was there and he really seemed to liked them, and he is pretty picky.

Such a cute place to relax and cuddle with all of the sweet cats. There are so many adorable spots for the cats to climb and nap. The shop has a great selection of gifts and toys! Looking forward to our next visit.

Overall the place was very nice I'd say! The only true complaint I'd have is, the check in being a tad small. There is also no tables.I would be very happy to see more tea options in the future as well! But all of these things are very minor.The cat room however was huge! Leaving the cats a nice area to play and be pet in!The cats and the staff were very friendly.A nice first time in a cat cafe! Thank you for your service! 💕

Love love love this place, to me this idea is one of the cutest and most selfless ideas. To take it stray cats and help them find loving homes while also giving them a temporary love place for people to come in and love them is amazing oh yeah also they have coffee lol ❤️❤️
