Horrible for both veterinary care and boarding services. I highly recommend other vets and boarding facilities that I list below.Veterinary care: their prices are higher than other vets in the area. We paid a significant sum for dental work for our dog, and had a sick visit a few weeks later. During the sick visit, the vet noted that he badly needed dental work. When I reminded her that they had just done a dental for him, she turned red and tried very hard to backpedal. It felt like we paid for nothing. They also say they are an emergency hospital but aren't very available after hours. It's next to impossible to get someone on the phone. They have over billed us several times and it was a battle to get refunded (I'm talking over $100 on multiple occasions- don't waste your time with their wellness plans because they will still try to bill you for the included services)Boarding: we board our dog regularly, sometimes on short notice so we have tried a handful of boarding locations in the area to compare to. We have a retired Greyhound, which is a bony breed that has been crate trained his entire life. After boarding at SAH for a week, every pressure point had an open sore, as if they gave him no bedding. We didn't notice until we got home, and when I called to ask about his quality of care, they said "he must have gnawed himself" and that's the only possible explanation. I asked if they observed him gnawing, they said no. I asked why he would have only gnawed his pressure points/the spots that contact the floor when he lays and they had no response. They did nothing and were unapologetic. They didn't even offer to see him to address the wounds. We went elsewhere, got him the meds he needed and are never looking back.We now go to Companion Animal hospital, who is excellent for both boarding and veterinary care. They gave him a great dental surgery for a more competitive cost. They remember our dog and treat him with love and compassion. He never returns home with any type of sores.We also board at D&Js and they are by far the best boarding facility in the area. They also remember our pup and treat him great. He never returns home with any type of sores.

Great place to take your furry friends. Big or small, the people at Sunbury Animal Hospital will take care of them. Everyone is always polite, every time I'm there. Very clean and sanitary place. Everyone and everything is always taken care of, and the staff always seem to go out of their way. The kennel staff always work so hard to keep the animals comfortable and calm during their stay. It's impressive how they manage all of the animals they get. I heard a gentleman singing the last time I was there almost like an opera. Wonder if they have concerts there for the animals, lol. Autumn and Mariah and everyone in the kennel are always amazing. Thank you again, everyone, at Sunbury Animal Hospital.

My dog fell very ill in a short amount of time. I couldn’t get ahold of my regular vet, and tried calling 30 different vets in the area, none would take my dog. Called Sunbury and had an appointment the very next day. Staff was great and compassionate. Ultimately we needed to have her put down due to a massive tumor in her stomach. They were amazing through the whole thing. Making the hour and 20 minute drive was worth it. I’d do it all over again if I had to.

always took good care of our dogs needs,and explained everything to us that we understood.Never did me wrong,and didn't do unnecessary test just to charge.Yes there may be better places,but I can guarantee there are alot worse,I will continue to take my fur babies there.

Y'all continue to treat neglected and abused animals from K9 Hero Haven without reporting any animal abuse, therefore your facility condones the abuse and neglect of retired working dogs and terminate employees for cooperating with authorities and providing documentation for a dog they legally own. You should be ashamed of yourselves and I hope the former employee files a lawsuit against you.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Our 3 year old dog had a seizure at 5 am. We have been patients there for over 3 years. They are not open for emergencies any longer. I called, and there was no answer. Called Watsontown emergency, and they were closed. Called Harrisburg, and they talked us through everything but said to take him to Sunbury as soon as they opened as our pup needed to be seen immediately. We called Sunbury once they opened, and they said we are not patients and they would not even see him until he had another seizure even if we were. They told my husband they transferred our dogs out in September. We never requested a transfer. Called our old vet an hour away, and they took him immediately. Our old vet called Sunbury, and sure enough, they still had our dogs listed as patients and had their records.This is the 3rd time they have done something like this. Go somewhere else if you love your pets, not Sunbury.

Friendly techs and doctor. Took my mother's cat to SAH. and they took care of her pet. They would explain everything step needed so my mother would understand and be happy. I was very pleased how they treated my mother and her pet.

When no other vet hospital or rescue would or could help up with a severely injured stray, Sunbury Hospital helped us! Their S.A.F.E. program is a true blessing, and their staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable leaving the kitten we had just met, but had fallen in love with. Thank you, Sunbury Animal Hospital Angels!

I usually don’t post reviews but the experiences I’ve had with this place on 2 occasions is absolutely disgusting, it first started when my mare ( 2 years ago) coliced and I called them for her as an emergency farm call. I live maybe 15 minutes away from the animal hospital and it took them 45 to get to my house, by the time they got there my mare had rolled twisted her stomach and died. Second occurrence, my dog had Lyme and was having a super bad flare up, again emergency, couldn’t move eat or drink, I was sitting in there from 10pm- 5 am, all for them to tell me it was flare up and he was constipated, didn’t get seen by the actual vet till 4, she was amazing, the vet tech had an additude and wasn’t pleasant speak to. If you care about your animals and actually want to get them help go anywhere else then sunbury. If I could give negative stars I would. Do better sunbury.

They are always respectful and polite. My wife and I decided to make them our primary Vet when our adopted kitten needed emergency care. The little guy ended up needed to be put down and they were so kind and polite.

After rescuing an American Bulldog about a year and a half ago, he started showing some disturbing behavioral issues. Believed to be seizure related, we went to Sunbury Animal Hospital for help. Giving him and adjusting medication to control his issue, he was showing promising results for a period of time. After some time, he started to return to having his episodes of unpredictable unprovoked aggression. We made the heartbreaking decision that this condition was becoming too dangerous and we turned to Sunbury for help with this difficult decision. The staff was very professional and understanding. We would like to thank the staff on Monday evening and Dr. Shaw and Dr, Blossom with their help and understanding with Miller. They were very patient and compassionate during this extremely difficult time. Allowing us to be with him throughout the end and take our time saying goodbye to him. Today, Feb. 1st, we received a heartwarming hand written sympathy letter from Sunbury Animal Hospital showing how deeply they care about the patients they treat. Thank you from all our hearts for such a personal, patient and caring touch to this entire heartbreaking experience! It has made this experience just a bit better as they treated us more like family than patients.

In 2020, around the time when the pandemic kicked off, my Chloe girl was sick and was not able to be seen at her regular vet. They suggested SAH. Dr. Shuruda actually helped Chloe more then her regular vet and so I decided to stick with them. It seemed our previous vet just put “band-aides” on everything. But the this Dr followed through with recommended care for Chloe to make sure she was her skin and heart issues were stable. That care helped us have another year and a half with her. On May 12th, we had to make the decision to let her cross the rainbow bridge. Dr Blossom and her team was fantastic through the whole process!! We picked our Chloe up today, Central Pa Animal After Care took care of her. I was shocked to see her remains in a hand carved wooden box. It’s beautiful. We also received her paw prints in a clay disk with a yellow stone. I highly recommend taking your animals to SAH. In fact, even though they are a 45 min ride for us. I am going to start taking our other animals to them as well!!

My experience with this place began 2 years ago when I brought my pet in for emergency treatment but was turned away at the door (fortunately I found another local vet to treat her emergency and she continues to do fine). Only after the recent mink situation was I compelled to post a review, since its apparent they support the slaughter of innocent creatures rather than saving them. Big surprise!

I’ve been going to Sunbury Animal Hospital for a long time so I’ve had my share of good experiences and not so good. My latest interaction with the veterinarian there was the best! He called me personally and sent me information I needed about my dog in the mail and I am so impressed he took the time out of his busy day to help! Thank you so much for your assistance Doc!!!

*Emergency Vet Post* This isn't my normal vet, we unfortunately had one of our senior dogs (16 years old) take a turn for the worst last Saturday night. Thankfully they were able to get us in the middle of the night when it happened. The vet and vet tech handled everything with love and compassion. It was her time to go, they left me be with her the whole time, and even gave me some time after to say my goodbyes. It is never easy saying goodbye to a member of the family, but I am so thankful that I got the team at SAH to go through it with me. They were sensitive to me and what I needed through the process, and dealt with my ugly crying and snotting in my mask through the whole visit. After They sent a beautiful card in the mail and I cried all over again when it was time to pick her remains up and bring them home. They did such a beautiful job with the clay paw, and the box, it truly is a beautiful memorial for the beautiful soul that we said goodbye to that night.. Thank you so much for being there for us through such a difficult time, and for easing my dogs discomfort and allowing her to pass peacefully.

I never write reviews about businesses. However, I feel this needs to be said. If I could rate zero stars I would. My cat, Beans, went missing a few months ago. I searched for him, posted about him, and informed my neighbors to look out for him. Last week I received a phone call from Sunbury Vet saying they had a family bring in a “pet” that they scanned for a microchip and it came back as me being the owner. They asked me to call back to see if it is the same cat or an error. I called back and they had already sent Beans home with the people that brought him in, eventually telling me that they couldn’t take him away from them even though they were aware Beans was missing and I was his rightful owner! I gave the staff permission to give my information to the people, hoping they would reach out to me. It’s been a week and with more phone calls to Sunbury vet, it’s been determined that these people aren’t planning on giving me my cat back. Sunbury Vet can’t/won’t give me their information. They have now stated they cannot handle this further since this is between the people that found Beans and I.I have never imagined a veterinary practice would refuse to take a pet away from somebody that does not own it. A veterinary practice that has PROOF of ownership from another source. Pets are personal property and Sunbury Vet helped someone get away with stealing my cat!Now I may have to hire an attorney and spend tons of money because of Sunbury Vets negligence in returning an animal to its rightful owner.

Very friendly people super clean answered questions in terms we could understand also explained what was going on and how much it would cost before doing stuff the drive was well worth it did not do extra stuff that was not required also they have the well being of the animals in mind the whole time only issue they don't take payments but most vets are the same way

The vet that we had for our most recent apptm didn’t like that our anxious dog wouldn’t cooperate with him, so he suggested EUTHANIZING an otherwise completely healthy, happy dog.The vet also said if it was his dog, he would. So that guy’s a monster.I’ve heard from several other former clients that the doctors here love to suggest putting down family pets all the time without any testing or prior evaluation of the animal’s health or well being.I wonder how much money lines their pockets every time they euthanize a pet.We will not be returning.

Terrible facility, promotes and facilitates various forms of animal abuse like fur farming. Only in it for the money and will advertise just about anything they're paid to, regardless of whether it's been proven to harm pets. Their boarding service is also a scam; the dogs are crammed into small kennels and only let out briefly during their stays.

My experience is I called this vet about my sick 2 month old kitten which has been not breathing right since yesterday she is not eating or drinking. They told me they aren't taking cats at all at this time. That goes for every other animal vet or shelter. I even said keep her just save her they said no not Al this time! So now I'm slowly watching my kitten die and this place won't help her. And they call themselves a animal hospital

My sweet girl was not laboring with strong enough contractions and had a deceased kitten in womb. They acted quickly to get her other kittens out and kept her safe and sound. There was one questionable kitten we took home and planned to bottle feed, after a few hours and an okay bottle feeding she perked up and is keeping up with her siblings. Mama and all four babies are doing well! The staff was informative and friendly! I really appreciate their care!
