Overall, an ok hotel.Staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great, but limited and tight seating area. Very kid friendly overall. We stayed on the 1st floor. Did not hear much traffic noise.However, the room as a 2 Queen suite, could have been so much cleaner.Ripped blinds, stained couch, stained walls.Random residues on the desk and dresser.Missing thermostat with just the bracket remaining on the wall. Beds themselves were clean.The front desk was alerted, so hopefully these will be addressed, but from other reviews, it seems to be a recurring problem.

Clean place, pleasant service, and decent rooms for a 2 night stay in this area. The main reason I’m writing a review is to leave a tip for prospective guests. Try to book a room in the back of this hotel. If your room faces the front, you will be treated to the sounds of 18-wheelers/tractor trailers downshifting on the hill on the road in front of the hotel almost non-stop from around 4am on. I just heard a tractor trailer downshifting and was reminded to share this tip! Otherwise this was a nice stay!

One of the better Holiday Inn Express locations I've been to in the past year. The woman at front desk was pleasant and helpful, and the room was fairly recently updated and clean. I stayed on the 3rd floor and it was quiet, no loud parties etc. Breakfast was good with all the hot options, and even though they had a full dining area around 9am, they kept bringing out fresh items. Would definitely stay again.

We travel to Strasburg every year to visit Choo Choo Barn. Very clean, beds were comfortable, tasty breakfast with good variety, cinnamon rolls, pancake maker, yogurt, oatmeal, juice, bacon, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit. A+ customer service from staff, all were very friendly and hospitable.Tavern restaurant located right next door offers a pleasant dining experience. The indoor pool was clean and well maintained. When we arrived in the evening, families were playing board games provided by the hotel, a nice touch. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate available in the lobby 24/7. Decent gym, also clean and maintained.Rooms: Clean and large. Comfortable bed and linens. The room with 2 Queens and Sifa bed was perfect for my son, friend and I travelling together having separate beds. Good shower pressure.Nearby activities: Choo Choo Barn, Strasburg railroad, Antique shops, Tavern RestaurantSafety: Safe areaWalkability: Walkable on the grounds, on top of hill

Hotel felt updated and was very clean. Appreciated the toiletries provided in the bathroom. Breakfast had a great selection to choose from and was delicious. Pool was busy the day we used, but the kids had a great time.Was conveniently located near the things we planned to do. Would stay here again if in the area.

This was our second time staying here and it is a very clean hotel, the room was ready when we arrived, and the complimentary breakfast is delicious a large variety, and offers for any dietary needs. This is a very peaceful place.Nearby activities: The Strasburg Rail Road is a 3 minute drive from the hotel and the offer a variety of luxury rides, with very comfortable accommodation and you can purchase snacks on the train, it's a lovely 45 minute ride. Worthwhile experience and beautiful sights along the route. Definitely will come again for another train ride.

Firstly, it was a filthy hotel in every area. Room was NOT clean, dirty towels under bathroom sink when we arrived. Carpet NOT clean and used air spray to mask the awful smells in this hotel. Food area dirty and seating absolutely FILTHY! Cleaning people wandering around harassing guests but NOT doing anything! I watched a housekeeper drop a row of cups on the floor, then pick them up to put in rooms! Couldn't use the pool we paid for because it was so dirty (floating hairs all over it!) and too much chlorine for human health! Went there several times and never saw anyone in it! Food was awful and eggs made us sick to our stomachs! RUDE employees - RUDE guests. I have NEVER stayed in a multi-floor hotel with ONE ELEVATOR! It has NO A/C and is a breeding ground for illness when 15 PEOPLE ALL CRAM IN AT ONCE BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY ELEVATOR IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL!!!!! How did this get approved by local Zoning and Construction??? NOTE: This review forum FORCES you to provide a positive description (Great View the only one that pertains and not really accurate).

I want to say that me and my boyfriend absolutely LOVED this hotel! We just got to PA from jersey originally booked the clarion inn which was horrible so we went over to holiday inn. We definitely would have went with that first but we didn’t see it online at first when we were booking the hotel for the trip. But they gave us a discounted price cause we told them what happened. The room was amazing and super super clean! The hotel itself was very clean. The front desk was very nice, professional and very helpful when asking things to do around there! Couldn’t have had a better experience! If they have bad reviews don’t listen to them cause are experience was great!Rooms: Very clean and spacious!Nearby activities: Lancaster is like 8 minutes away and there’s a bunch of stuff to do there. Also the hotel has a pool.Safety: Very safeWalkability: Not long walking distances!Food & drinks: Very good even have a little snack area for the middle of the night and traveling appliances

This hotel was a typical HI Express. The location is very convenient, and this was our second time staying there. However, the property needs to be refurbished because it looks and feels worn, and in some areas, not so clean. Our room was spacious, but had a musty smell which I reported to the front desk. Their response was that they will have someone check it out. The staff was generally not very friendly except for a couple of the housekeepers. We will probably look for other motel/hotel options if we visit the area again.

I’ve stayed here a few times now. The softest sheets I have ever slept on!!!! Beds are very comfortable.Very friendly and accommodating front desk staff. It can get busy at times but the rooms are always clean and comfortable, and though I have only had the breakfast once I found it to be a decent selection even later in the morning. The only complaint I have is that elevator is quite slow even though there are only 3 floors- usually I just opt for the stairs. Still, a great place to stay and a fair price for the level of comfort.Overall this is always a pleasant stay and it is in walking distance to one of our favorite local restaurants- Fireside Tavern (get the tomato bisque)!

Our hotel room was well kept, the staff was attentive, and the breakfast selection was great. After our stay I left an item in the room and Laureen was amazing and shipped my item to me! I greatly appreciate it.Only constructive criticism was in regards to the hotel pool being cold, dirty and the walls having a dingy film on them. I certainly would not let my children swim in it again unless that were addressed.

Okay. I have an admission. I thought since it was called Express on the end, it might be not as nice as other places we've stayed. Oh was I wrong! I'm huge on cleanliness when I stay overnight in hotels and I found this Holiday inn Express to be very clean. We had two queen size beds and I usually loath the top comforter and take it off the bed prior to sleeping in it, but this comforter you could tell was not only very soft and beautifully white, but it was able to be washed as often as the sheets. The shower worked nice and I absolutely love their choice of shampoo and cream rinse and body wash that they gave. Not those tiny little bottles that you have to bang against your hand to get a little bit out of. They had pumps right in the showers. The downstairs breakfast was very nice as well. All the basics, and everything you would want.The only one negative I have to maybe say is about the pool. Me and my sister were looking forward to it but it wasn't his appealing as we had hoped. And it was very hot and muggy inside where we didn't even feel comfortable sitting and watching the one guest we went with swim. It was just too hot in there to stay. Other than that I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for everything!

For a basic hotel this is the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in! It's immaculate especially now during the pandemic when they're short on personnel. The staff here goes above and beyond to make you comfortable. We missed the breakfast by 45 min and they cleared it away but they saw my son and I and asked if we missed it, they brought the trays back out for us. That was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for us at a hotel, they were fully booked too! The pool was clean although looking a bit worn, they keep it up nice. Fitness area looked clean, I didn't go in though. The room was big, 2 queen room, tall ceilings, very pleasant modern design, beds were comfortable, sheets spotless. I would definitely stay here again, I highly recommend.

Stayed here for a wedding.The hot breakfast was above average for most hotels I've been to - sausage, bacon, cheese omelets, vegetable omelets, bagels, pancakes, coffee/juice, sticky buns.Only minor thing was that house keeping kept knocking even though it was before we had checked out.Overall, great experience.

This is absolutely the worst hotel I have been to in years. The staff are rude and the rooms don't smell clean. I had to request a new room twice before finding one that was not smelly. I was treated with suspicion for wanting a better smelling room like I was trying to get over on them or something. It was a mind boggling experience as I was asked if I wanted air freshener for a room which smelled like it had not been cleaned. House keeping is also rude as they barged in on my twice before checkout time almost rushing me to leave and though the door in the room says check out time is noon it is actually 11am...smh. I had house keeping banging on my door at 10:50. I'm not sure what they are cleaning though as the rooms are not clean! I only gave it one star because the complimentary breakfast was decent. I travel a lot so it was better than most hotels I have been to but overall what a terrible experience. Do better Holiday Inn...this is unacceptable.

Upgraded to a suite and when we went to shower to go to bed the hand soap Dispenser at the sink was empty the found the body was dispenser in the shower was also empty. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was full of dust also. The in room refrigerator freezer portion was completely full of ice and needed defrosted. The floor lamps in the room were covered with dust. When we got on the elevator it had handprints covering most of the walls and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Then we go to the continental breakfast which the food was good but when looking out the windows that hadn’t been cleaned in days it kind of made you wonder how clean the kitchen area was. We were very disappointed of the condition of the Holiday Inn as we usually stay at this chain with no complaints.

The hotel is in a very good location. Check in and check out was quick and painless. With that being said, the cleanliness of the hotel overall was nothing to brag about. We checked in at 2:30 so 1/2 hour before normal check in and the elevator floor was dirty (not like it was at the end of the night). The bathroom was not the cleanest either. There were spots on the floor and spots on the mirror like neither had been touched. The worst HIE we have ever stayed in.

The property was clean. We were disappointed that Our three night stay didn't warrant cleaning service for our room. we finally asked for towels as a hint that the room needen cleaning but to no avail the ladys simply gave us towels. The pool was nice. The food was adequate for the place.I think I wll have to try the Holiday in Hotel next time. This one was a little too plain for me this time.
