Much improvement in customer care. I changed vets over a year ago because front staff was so rude. I don’t think she works there anymore. Need xray and bloodwork so I went back. Staff even called back to check on Ginger. Still waited a long time but they did update us on what was going on so I didn’t feel like they forgot us. Would be nice if there were two seats in room if waiting over an hour. Get some folding chair and offer them. Overall much better experience than in the past

It's a cute little cozy veterinarian place. The staff is super friendly and the wait time was short.I wrote the above 1yr ago. Fast forward to today. We got in town yesterday and hubs to pick up our dog at 9am and waited until 10am/I called the police because nobody was there!! Sundays are 9-10am and absolutely NOBODY is there!! How would you feel if your child was locked up not being cared for??

Great people and affordable prices. They did great dental work on my boxer dog. Additionally, they were able to cut toenails on my other dog when 3 other facilities couldn't without sedating her. The place is small but the people have huge hearts for our pets!

We’ve been going to Stewartstown Vet for my entire life — 20 years or so. They have always been good to us. My dear kitty, Mopsy, was a frequent flyer there throughout her seventeen years. Dr. Preston and Tammy would always treat her with such kindness. They are very reasonable financially and understand limitations in that regard. When we finally had to say goodbye to Mopsy after their hours, we took her to an ER. We didn’t even put her to sleep at Stewartstown, but they sent a giant bouquet and a card. It meant the world to us. Truly above and beyond. Can’t recommend them more ❤️

New to the area and was blown away by how friendly and caring the staff is here. 110% recommended. Has that nice cozy home-town vet feel, and they treated our precious elderly dog like family. She was referred for surgery to another vet, but I know she’ll be fine because she came home from Stewartstown a year younger, at least

Took my dog there for the very first time last evening. Will never go back. The staff member, Brittany, was the best and super friendly via text while I was setting up the appointment. The tech who took us back was very friendly too. The Dr came in and her exam consisted of listening to my dog's heart and lungs. That was it. Never once looked into her eyes, ears, mouth/teeth or her coat. Worst and most pathetic exam ever! Dr told me to "keep doing what I'm doing." Wow, she didn't even know what I was doing because she never asked me any questions! She even admitted that she only read up to page 2 of her previous records. Way to put some effort forth! I can't believe people take their animals here. Total waste of my time and money.

Close and convenient. Not great. Felt like I had to inform myself using other resources after 6 visits with the same skin issue and being offered more medicine and topical products without offering a skin scrape and blood test. Had to mail a hair sample to an equine vet in Texas for simple answers. Seems like focus is making money on meds... could be wrong. But that's how I felt. Staff is nice, though, and it is easy to get an appointment.

Stewartstown Vet Services definitely gets 5 stars from our family. We have been taking our pets to them for years. They have always given our pets the very best medical care. We've used their kennel service for our dog who has medical problems and they are amazing. I really get the feeling that they care about our pets almost as much as we do. They are all very nice and professional and go the extra mile to help us. A special thanks to Brittany who took the time to break the tiny little pills in half that we give our dog and then showed me how to do it for the future.They are the best and we are thankful to have them in our community!

They don't believe you if your pet's illness gets worse over time. We were literally told, "Well she looked fine two weeks ago when you brought her in" after inquiring about antibiotics. She was the last to come down with a highly contagious upper respiratory infection out of three cats (who were all ill, and two needed to go to the Shrewsbury Emergency Vet (They are amazing BTW)) Flora started get sick, and we insisted that she needed doxycycline (Which is what the Shrewsbury Emergency Vet insisted our other cats needed.. Illness cleared up in days) . Instead she was given some otc eye ointment and were told, that if she starts to excrete green eye goop to call in for antibiotics. We did, and they acted like we were lying and surprised that it happened??? No, I want to treat my pet before my other cats get sick again with an antibiotic resistant variant. Stop giving half-@$$ treatment in order to make money, by creating completely unnecessary additional vet appointments. That's why this office is so cheap, they don't actually treat your pet. You need to bring them back in repeatedly. It's horrible.

Unfortunately I will not be going back. Expensive and unprofessional. They had my cat back every 2 weeks milking me for money in reexamination fees and couldn’t find the problem. My cat has cancer in his mouth and they were too inept to see what took another vet 2 minutes to see. Highly disappointed.

Probably would've been better if when I got there someone was at the desk to help you. Waited like 20 mins before they even checked the front desk. The phone even rang and they were just chatting in the back. It's nice because they're close and when they do help they can be nice depending on who you talk to but can definitely improve.

We have been using this veterinary service for many years. We love the walk in hours; however, the wait can be horrible, but that is no fault of the vet or staff, just the amount of people that show up. When an appointment is made, you get a small discount, and they are usually running on time. The vet takes the time with your dog that is needed. I was there today with my dog who is having a type of skin allergy. This was the second time there because the vet wanted to follow up on the allergy and make sure it was gone. It looked good to me, but the vet still saw remnants of it. They wanted to perform some testing, but gave me an actual price breakdown of everything they wanted to do, and why, before doing it. I was able to see all the pricing and sign that it was okay before the procedures were done. I was very pleased with the care my pet received and the courtesy I was given about pricing. My dog received additional medication and I received instructions as to how to continue her care and what to look for. They also do not discriminate against breeds, I have taken my pit bulls there for many years and they love them!

We used this veterinary service for many years. Our schnauzer Bridget was always happy to be there. She would easily go to the staff. We felt comfortable with leaving her for boarding and grooming. Medical care was professional, she was well taken care of.

I absolutely love the Doctor and staff. They have helped so much with multiple animals and where caring for both our dogs and us. Our Doctor is amazing and I swear she has some crazy ability to connect to the dogs I seen first hand this weird connection and I was truly amazed and appreciate her help with all the dogs I've taken her through the years.

Look no further for your veterinary needs! As I am a new pet mother, I was recommended to Stewartstown Vet Services and couldn't be happier with the services they have provided to my furry friend, Mister. Upon arriving for my kitten's first exam, I knew he would be in good hands. The reception staff was extremely warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It is obvious that the staff truly cares about animals. The veterinary technicians were very patient and caring with my little guy, even with his spunky attitude, and he always seems to be comfortable while he is in their care. The veterinarians and their assistants thoroughly explained everything prior to touching Mister, so I had a good understanding of what to expect. Bills are never the fun part but I appreciate how everything is itemized in detail and gives a summary of the visit and when your pet is due back! It is also a plus that I can purchase Mister's flea and tick prevention, along with any necessary medications all in one visit. I continue to be impressed by the their expertise and kindness, and value their advice and recommendations for his continued care. Mister and I look forward to visiting the office in good health, but only when their helpful postcard reminds us to!

We could not be more happy than we are with Dr. Baker and her team! They are so caring while offering the latest services for their furry patients. Everyone at the practice is friendly and helpful. We lost our beloved Sheldon (cat) earlier this year and Dr. Baker was so involved and engaged with his treatment, even while he was transferred to a specialty hospital. She used every skill and tool in her arsenal to try to get him well and to keep him comfortable until the very end. We could not have asked for a more supportive and compassionate veterinarian and team. They are the best.

My appointment began at the scheduled time. Dr. Preston was polite, and thorough. My Cat liked her too! The girl that assist the doctor (her name escapes me right now) was so kind and great with my 🐾 kitten.

I have purchased cat food from this office before when my vet was out. Normally my vet would send an RX to Stewartstown and they would fill it with no issues. I called today to do the same and the receptionist told me she was new, put me on hold and checked - all fine and normal. But then came back on and told me the answer was no they will not sell me the RX cat food. When I asked why, she said replied "that was what they said." I asked to speak to the person saying no so I could understand why and she said no. I then explained how we had done this in the past, especially since she was new, fax the RX, etc. Before I could further explain she put me on hold, came back on, and told me that the answer is no and I "just need to accept that" in a nasty tone. I asked her why she was being so mean, when I just wanted to explain how I have purchase RX cat food in the past since she was new. Without warning she hung up on me! Terrible treatment from a place that has been very kind and helpful in the past. Another vet's office was happy to help, but I'm disappointed in this experience at Stewartstown. Currently Stewartstown Vet will no longer get my business. I wish the receptionist could have taken a message and been more tactful. It's not gold I needed, just cat food.

I am new to the area and my cat was ill, I called and they were able to get me in that day. Dr Joy was wonderful and took the time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions. She didn't push for all kinds of tests and treatments like I have experienced at other vets. I felt very welcomed and Carter and I were well taken care of.

I have been taking my cats to Stewartstown Vet Services for 16 years and have always been pleased with the thoroughness, care and compassion provided by Dr. Preston. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Baker for the first time and again, more than pleased. She was also very thorough and caring to my cat, and me and took the time to explain, investigate and come up with a suitable plan of treatment for my cat. The assistant Tammy, is also very good with calming the cats and also very pleaant. Courteous and professional front office staff as well.

I am hard to please when it comes to taking care of my dog. She's my baby and I want the best care for her. First of all, they have plenty of walk in hours which really helps me because I cannot plan when my dog is sick. Any of the vets are fabulous. They all are knowledgeable and trustworthy. My dog has had a few surgeries and they always give me updates on her... thankfully because I am a panickier about my dog. I could not ask for a better vet so thank you guys!

Love this family friendly business. We have used Stewartstown Vet Service for years and couldn't be happier. Dr. Baker is fabulous, as is Dr. Preston (Go PSU!). We always feel taken care of, and are given honest opinions and advice for our little fur babies. No muss, no fuss. You can't beat their prices, and they don't throw in extra fee's or try to sell you things you don't need. It feels like family every time I go in, I never feel like I'm just another number. Highly recommended and appreciated for almost 15 years!!!
